The first time I came here, was in 2016 -- it was my first extended stay in NY and I serendipitously stumbled upon this place. To my memory, this is the best Mexican food I've had on the East Coast, and rivals a lot of restaurants in SF (at least as good as) and LA (portions here are way bigger). I don't think they even changed the prices since 2016 which is amazing. I had a hard time remembering where this was, but my new office is nearby so I guess it's a blessing in disguise....read full review
The best (or only place) for menudo and pozole in NYC. The taste, texture, & temperature of the food was excellent. Next time I go back, I will definitely be visiting. I'm the West Coast - San Diego.

The food here at this modest family business is always yummy! I have been coming here for years. I got 3 birria tacos with consumé for $18 and ¡qué rico! Máximo's (the friendly chef) wife makes birria a lil different. I couldn't tell what was the magical ingredient that made a party in my mouth.
