This place is small, tiny, grimy, loud, and kind of dirty. I LOVE IT. You have to be in the right frame of mind to come here. The seating is tight with small stools. It’s in the basement level so it feels dark with no windows. But man is it fun to be in this energy where everyone feels like they’re there having a good time. Amongst all the restaurants on this block, this one is sort of a hidden gem. Not necessarily out of sight, this one makes you feel like you're at a Japanese bar in those Asian dramas. The atmosphere is busy and welcoming. You'll notice immediately how small and cramp the place is. I cannot tell if the design of the place also factors in, but the sounds travels in weird directions and frequency, making chats kind of difficult. On the up side, the food is superb. This has to be one of the best hidden gems in NYC, tasty, adorable, friendly, happy atmosphere. Just the wooden stools were super uncomfortable, by design… you eat fast and move on. Truly a culinary experience. I shall return…
