Sake Bar Asoko is the consummate bar to enjoy sake—the young proprietor from Kanazawa, Shintaro, is a sake aficionado. He kindly took my spouse and me under his wing. Although we were light-years older than anyone else at Asoko, Shintaro took the time to listen to what we enjoyed and wanted to taste. Our travels to Japan consumed our conversation, and I filled his head with my love of sake and Japanese culture. He showed us respect despite my ramblings.
