Tsubomi is one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants I have visited in New York. The restaurant is run by Chef Genta and his wife, Beth, and their warm hospitality makes every guest feel at home.
Chef Genta trained extensively in traditional kaiseki cuisine in several cities across Japan and also perfected his sushi craftsmanship at the renowned Ginza Kyubey, one of Japan’s most respected sushi restaurants.

Really awesome spot with great service and great ambiance! I went for the happy hour, you have to try their shishito peppers & octopus dish...it's amazing!!😋 I would go back just to taste that again. The spicy tuna roll is also maybe the best I've had in NYC. Definitely worth a visit and I will be returning to try their omakase👍🏻
I have come here twice now. First time I had the tempura set, which was very good. Today I had the Aburi Trio special, Fried yellowtail collar special (they were out of seabream so fried the yellowtail just for me!) And cold udon. Everything was delicious and fresh. For what you get, the prices were on the upper end but still reasonable.

Seafood and Sushi Bistro TSUBOMI is a very nice spot with a great atmosphere that is calm and quiet, with very nice music. The staff are very friendly, welcoming, kind, attentive, and polite. The food is absolutely delicious and authentic, with good sized portions. The Tuna Lover is a must try, and the yellowtail lover and salmon lover are also recommended. There is an absolutely fantastic list of daily specials including stuff like firefly squid. The happy hour drink specials and appetizers are great too. The restaurant is accommodating of strollers and babies. Prices reflect the quality of ingredients. Dishes may take a bit if at capacity, though worth the wait.
