Cozy atmosphere, nice wait staff (who were great for discussing the menu), but the star of the show was the terrific food. Small plates, mains, and desserts were all terrific, particularly the rosemary chicken. Great change of pace from the usual New York fare.
If you want some tasty Mediterranean fare, and don't want to get in a shouting match while eating, Snack Taverna is the place for you. Lots of vegetarian options. The 3 dip sampler is good. Spinach triangles not bad. Halloumi artichoke salad gets a thumbs up. Asparagus nothing to dream about. They use a glass tumbler for a wine glass. Cos that's how it's done in Greece. Or something.

very nice food. Real Greek. Simply, the best Greek food in Manhattan, in an adorable corner bistro in the west Village. And everything is deliciously fresh and reasonable given the quality and the space ..they serve dinner lunch or breakfast too... the service is charming, welcoming , from people who aim to make you happy. worth it! High recommend!
