TASHCA NYC is the chicest thing to happen to Nolita. The food is amazing and the space beautifully decorated. The bifana here puts Lisbon to shame; it is the best version of this sandwich that exists. Before even getting to the food, order the pepperoncini martini. It is the best ever had. The service is warm and effortless, and the candlelit room at 151 Elizabeth feels like the city’s best-kept secret. The whole experience is the absolute epitome of private dining in NYC, less like going to a restaurant and more like getting invited to the most intimate, well-fed dinner party in Manhattan. The place is stunning and intimate, with beautiful candlelight and little touches like hanging calla lilies. The food is fantastic; special highlights are the steak / tenderloin, stew, and the dessert (a kind of meringue / berry thing). The place feels inviting and homey and not at all pretentious. It is a super cute up and coming Portuguese comfort food place, a piece of home in NYC. This place is great, the service is great, and the owner is super friendly. It is recommended for a casual night, date, or something fancy. Fits every occasion.
