“Long overdue review! The service is always super friendly and thoughtful, whether you’re dining in or grabbing something to go. Today was a great example—there were no seats available so I ordered to-go, and one of the tea baristas remembered something I had asked about earlier and even wrote it down for me. Such a sweet and thoughtful touch! And of course, the bite-size snacks are a must 😄“

“The taro boba is 🔥 my beast friend and I casually walked from Williamsburg to Tea Art and it was absolutely amazing. I had the Taro, she had the green tea with lychee jelly, both were great with no artificial tastes. Definitely recommend“
“this is almost like a small emporium of teas, honeys, salts, and spices. you really slow down to take in everything around you, and it’s wonderful.
staff were also very helpful and informative, and there’s so much to see here, it’s almost impossible to walk out without getting something. i got the white melon tea as a gift for a friend and she loved it!“

“This is the second time I've gone to Lady Mendl's this year and both times the food and service have been superb for me and the group I was with. For context I am part of a fashion club that goes out for tea in groups of 5 or more. Yesterday afternoon I went with a group of 10 and the actual tea service was lovely, the staff were very attentive & helpful. The tea was fresh and the food was warm & delicious to offset the rainy weather of the day. As nothing is perfect our experience was lovely until the very end. As we were leaving some members of our fashion group wanted to take pictures in the lobby with the surrounding décor to remember the event. We made sure to be respectful. A middle aged woman with short blond hair and with a heavier build comes into the lobby and immediately yells: "What the hell is this?!". Instead of asking us if we were helped she made rude comments such as "You shouldn't be here" and got snappy at the hostess about our group. She implied we were just randomly in there off the street and made zero effort to actually speak with us. I was informed by the hostess that she was the owner of the establishment. There was no reason for her hostility. I would have been more positive had it not been for the behavior of who I believe was the owner. Her actions towards our group and the hostess left a really sour impression on what would have been a positive evening. I feel bad for the staff if she is like that more often then not. As someone else has stated: there was no one else at the lobby/salon area at this time of this incident. Our party had spent a lot of time and money reserving a table at this location and that blond woman needs a remember to not judge a book by it's cover.“

“This place serves no food, only tea. It is not for people who want a quick cup of tea; you should plan to spend an hour to an hour and a half minimum here. You reserve in advance, and either choose a team to share with somebody else or flight of teas. Realize that this is not discount, Lipton tea… it is high-quality tea, and naturally comes with a price tag The server prepares the tea and pours it for you, and you have an utterly pleasant time drinking out of this world tea. If you really love tea, you should check this place outthis world team“

“Amazing time! Thank you Nishan (I hope I spelled that right!!) for your knowledge and expertise! Great host with recommendations! Also met some really interesting people there! (Roy and Mohammed!)“
“I really loved how cozy the store was and how knowledgeable the staff clearly are about every tea, what to recommend if you have preferred flavors, and even precise temperatures for the best creamy matcha (I’ve loved every cup I’ve made with what they called their classic matcha).
However, please watch your step! I fell down a few of the stairs to get to their door by rolling my ankle in what seemed to be a divot in the concrete from water drainage. I hit my elbow on the stairs, twisted both my ankles and hit my head my head on their sign. Very sweet that everyone was checking on me a lot and offered me water!! But for what ended up being a chipped “elbow bone” with internal bruising and two hyperextended ankles, I do wish they gave me a discount on my order or made my pumpkin chai for free or something lol.
So if you’re a girl like me who likes to wear heeled boots in the fall and winter, just watch your step, and when you’re safely in there order the matcha or earl gray creme tea.“
“I stumbled upon this hidden gem after walking along the High Line and absolutely loved it. There aren’t many teahouses where I’m from in London—especially ones open into the evening—so this felt like a really cool experience.
The lady was lovely and took the time to show me the different types of tea. I chose the rose and mint tea, which was lush and beautifully presented in a cute pot that stayed hot for ages—perfect for relaxing and unwinding.
The only small thing is that it would be even better with more seating options, but aside from that, everything was perfect and I would defo come back again! :)“

“This experience was so wonderful! Our party had some dietary restrictions (one gluten-free/celiac and one vegetarian) and the team was so thoughtful about accommodations so we could all enjoy the treats. It was all delicious, and the decor/atmosphere was so peaceful and beautiful. The service was amazing as well, and we all agreed the tea service was offered at a really good price point, especially for NYC. We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends!“
“It’s such a nice tea shop. The owner was very knowledgeable and friendly. He has a nice variety of teas from green tea, white tea, oolong, to puer. We learned so much from him and ended up getting a bunch of raw puer cakes. Can’t wait to go home and try it! Highly recommend!“
“Very knowledgeable of teas and healthy choices. Family owned and so welcoming. Only place I'll purposely eat coconut.“
“Fantastic selection of tea. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff!“

“A serene retreat in the heart of the East Village where you literally get “whisked” away by the exquisite art of matcha tea service. The selections here are high quality, ground and prepared in accordance to tradition … evoking the tea’s journey, personally curated by tea master Mrs. Mori. A NYC gem not to be missed!“

“This place has made the best cookie and brownie combination ever. I love getting brookies in Brooklyn Heights from Alice's Tea Cup to Go. Plus, I have been to Chapter I in Manhattan where they made a tasty salad and a delicious Alice's Croque Madame sandwich. Here's hoping we can all still support local business for Alice's Tea Cup whether it's still around in Brooklyn or Manhattan.“

“Wanting to take my daughter for a special treat whilst in New York for a few days we booked afternoon tea in the Pembroke Room at the Lowell Hotel after knocking back the Plaza after reading a few dodgy reviews. So pleased we did as we spent over 2 hours enjoying every moment. The service was excellent as was the food, especially the warm scones. It’s a shame the cream was “Devonshire” rather than the traditional Clotted Cornish but other than that it was perfection. Lovely small intimate setting too where we felt our custom was welcome rather than feeling just a number as we were one of just 3 tables there. Would we return? Absolutely!“

“Since Pierre Herme has no locations in NYC that I’m aware of Laduree is the next best option. I enjoy their Eugenie’s which are basically chocolate covered cookies with a thin layer of fruit or crème between the chocolate & cookie depending on the flavor you choose. They do change the flavors from time to time. Of course since I’ve been on a caramel kick lately they didn’t offer caramel or chocolate during my most recent visit. Since I don’t always like some of their more unique flavors I decided to play it safe & go with vanilla, red berry, pineapple & passion fruit. Thankfully I enjoyed all of these flavors. For my caramel fix I went with a large macaron which was delicious. They have a small area if you want to enjoy a dessert with some coffee at this location. In addition to the Eugenie’s & macarons they serve a small assortment of pastries. You can purchase gift boxes in various colors perfect for get well gifts, secretary’s day or just because lol. A gift box of a dozen Eugenie’s is currently $52.00. Though I didn’t purchase any small macarons during this visit I believe they were $3.00 each. The large is currently $8.00“
“I enjoyed the attention of the representative. She was very pleasant and very nice. The organic matcha cheese cake and drink with bubbles (lychee and tapioca) ARE AMAZING. 😋“

“My compliments to the Chef and the entire staff. Beginning with the warm reception we received, there was excellent and attentive service and a wonderfully presented lunch. What more could you possibly ask for but a friendly, positive and professional waiter and tasty food? I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this fine establishment within this beautiful and iconic hotel.“

“My friend wanted Thai Milk Tea but didn't like it at our usual go to. Glad we stumbled upon this place, she said it was so much better. The only thing I would recommend is getting an even lower percentage of sugar. I asked for 50% and it tasted like 100%. I appreciate the very fresh tapioca and the many available seats.“

“Chai Spot is the ultimate third space, and one of my favorite places in NYC. I am a frequent flyer here. I come all the way from Brooklyn. Every time I have come to do work, create, or savor a delicious homemade chai with a friend, I have always found a seat in the back. I appreciate Chai Spot's intentional atmosphere. Soft music and soft lighting create a soft atmosphere, where friends sit comfortably and enjoy quiet conversations. I cannot say enough positive things about this hidden gem in Lower Manhattan. One of the city's best kept secrets (selfishly, I hope it stays that way!)“
