Utsav NYC Reviews
If you're looking for Kolkata style Chinese or Bengali cuisine in NYC, then Utsav is the place. Their Kolkata style fish fry is to die for. Also they have Chelo kebab reminding you of Peter Cat. Do try them out once and you won't regret it!!

Based on the reviews, Utsav NYC offers a mixed experience. The ambiance is nice and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Specific staff members like Glifton and Naseem were noted for excellent service. The restaurant has big and small party halls, making it suitable for events. For a birthday dinner, guests enjoyed the fish paturi and kosha mangsho, with a complimentary dessert. A welcome dinner for 30 guests praised the succulent hariyali kababs, salt and pepper shrimp, fried wantons, lamb biryani, and Chettinad chicken, with impeccable service and great value. However, other reviews found the food disappointing. The chili garlic cauliflower, biryani, and chicken curry were described as average at best, with small portion sizes and high prices. The bill for 6 people came to around $380 USD, with dishes like curry and biryani priced at $26–$30 per plate. From the Bengali menu, the luchi was not authentic—described as like deep oil fried kulcha—and the cholar dal was also not authentic. Overall, while the atmosphere and service are good, the food quality, portion sizes, and pricing are inconsistent.
