“We were recently disappointed with food at Sunday brunch at an upscale place. Today we stopped on a lark here en route to a nearby farm market for their fresh apples and cider. Oilcloth table covering as I had growing up. Menu paper resting in plastic sheet covers with circle metal holders. Candy store & bakery in another room. One might say homey, others perhaps a dive. We wondered what we had done being there. Our breakfasts far exceeded our expectations. Both meals were hot on arrival. Perfectly prepared. Eggs over easy and the 1/2 omelet was among the best ever. Sausage links and home fries were wonderful. Chef did not presume to know our tastes as we added our condiments as we desired. Toast was homemade bread. Several types available. Coffee was hot and freshly brewed. Refills were offered on a timely basis. Server was friendly and efficient.“
“I have been going to the original Gordie's for years(back when my grandma was still alive) we used to love this place. Luckily I Still do. The menu has changed, and some menu items aren't what they used to be..but that's ok. I don't come here for the food,I come for the vendors and neat stuff inside.I give this place 4 stars, only because some vendors are now gone... Maybe get a few local vendors, art/craft dealers, antique vendors, or food vendors inside? Just need to spice it up.. and I'm sure people will thank you. I'm glad this place is still open tho! Unlike volvos that closed(located in silver Creek,ny)Will visit again for Christmas season, and update.“
“My husband's and I first time here tonight and it was amazing!! The food was so fresh, looked great and portions were large!Standards look as they are even well above Russell's. Kudos to the owners for such a top notch restaurant .Service was great as we had Demetrious. He has been mentioned in other reviews and is just a delight!!Thank you for the wonderful dinner and great service!!Can't wait to go back“
“I have had many great meals at the shamus over the years but yesterday was different. I threw my dad a surprise birthday party and rented the upstairs. Anne was so great to talk to over the phone. Made everything so simple. The food we decided on was amazing. The Reuben egg rolls and southwest egg rolls were to die for. Steak sandwiches and roast beef- amazing. The wait staff, Robin and Danielle treated my family and friends so well. They went above and beyond. If you’re looking to throw a smaller party here don’t hesitate to book it. Such a classy, beautiful establishment.“
“This was the perfect place for our group to enjoy a meal together. The food was excellent. We would recommend the soft pretzels and the bacon wrapped shrimp. Wish we lived closer so we could be there more often. Mike, the owner, is very friendly and made us feel like we were friends for years.“
“My nephew wanted his special pizza, which is essentially cheesy bread because he hates the sauce. He specifically said this place was his #1 choice. So, I decided to drive from Rochester to take him for his birthday dinner.Ari was out server. She was outstanding!! Friendly, attentive, what more could one ask?The food was also phenomenal!!“
“Been going to Wagners since I was a kid. Great food always. This time, we went on a Friday Afternoon. Was busy, and they only had one server on! Ordered 2 fish fry's and 10 wings. 25 minutes went by, and the people that came in after us were getting their fish fry's before us. She said " the wings take a while!" . 40 minutes later we got our food. As good as the food was, sorry, but WNY's full of wing places that make wings under 30 minutes. I won't hold this against them, will always be back. But maybe you need a new fryer?“
“That veggie wrap SLAPS. Wish they were open longer during the day, and it's a treat when I can visit them. My first real job was as a dishwasher there. Decades ago! Clean shop, prompt, and good, reliable diner food in the 21st Century. Love the updates. Thanks much for making lunch. :)“
“From the hostess, our waitress, and the nice woman who refilled our coffees, our service was superb! The heaping of food we received was more than enough and definitely shareable. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back to try lunch and dinner.“
“Our hostess/bartender/waitress, Mary, was all that anyone could ask for. She was kind, attentive (but not smothering), and knowledgeable about the menu, the village, and the idiosyncrasies of the building. Our food came quickly and was top-notch bar food. Seasoned curly fries and a burger for me and a wrap for my companion were flavorful without being too salty or soggy. 5/5 will visit again when I choose the Lake road home from Buffalo/Niagara Falls.“
“Scripts Cafe is located in the heart of Lockport next to the Palace Theater. It's such a good find! Their food is so good and their coffee is delicious! They have cute little details in the cafe that add a nice touch to the atmosphere. The menu for food has a lot of variety. They are mostly sandwiches, salads and soups, but it's hearty. I got the Jack's Antipasto salad and wow! The portion size was amazing for a salad. It filled me and was delicious! They had a lot of coffee options and even had specialty coffees for the month. If you're in Lockport and are near the locks this is a great little place to stop for a bite to eat, have a meeting, or meet with friends.“
“I may be a little bias as in full disclosure I know the cook but aside from that, Groffs on the Green not only pushes out a consistent, currently limited menu but pulls out the stops on the service. Each and every bartender is friendly and welcoming and ready to serve you up a cold one. As they are on the golf course, beer is all canned. Owners are regularly there and lending a hand or a smile. The menu consists of items you can grab and go on course as well as daily specials. You'll be hard struck you find a better tuna Mac around or soups. Once in full operation they'll also be serving up breakfast. Not just some place to hit after 18 holes, check it out even if you're not a golfer.“
“They have a couple tables inside to sit, you can order inside or out. Have the basic ice creams, sundaes and custards. Just like other places they have special custard or items every now and then. One thing that stands out is the custard just tastes better here than most places.“
“Can’t go wrong with Reid’s I like their onion rings with the sauce. I got a burger and a hotdog. I miss we order the whole menu. I love it it’s decently priced. Can’t forget to get a shake it I like the banana shakes. They bomb when it’s outside, you can relax with your family is really a beautiful right around the corner from the fishing I’d recommend reads over Widewaters they’re a little bit cheaper I like the food better can’t go wrong with either though.“
“Food was amazing. Waitress must of been new or something. Took forever to get drinks and they weren't made all that well. Pretzels on the table must of been sitting for awhile because the ends in the glasses were soaked....place was empty for a Saturday “
“First time ordering from Ava's Corner Table....definitely won't be the last. Ordered a Royal Sub and was very impressed. The fresh roll and ingredients were excellent, you can't go wrong with sausage and cap...and I recommend the Cajun mayo on it! Young lady working the counter was very friendly and answered my questions on their soups they make. Highly recommend if you are in the area and desire some great food! Looking forward to ordering again!“
“I visited this restaurant while on vacation back in August of 2023. The food was great and the service was excellent. It’s a cozy and welcoming place and definitely worth trying if you’re in the area. One thing I discovered is that the area the Airbnb was in did not have many food options around it so finding The Brookside was a wonderful sight to see!“
