My wife and I were warmly greeted by owner Artie Glad and served by Lisa, one of Pumpernickel's efficient & friendly servers appropriately dressed in their dirndl/lederhosen attire. Once we tasted their delicious fresh baked pumpernickel bread, we could hardly wait to dig in to our meals! We devoured generous servings of sauteed Weinerschnitzel bratkartoffeln with sauteed mushrooms and Sauerbraten with potato dumplings and gravy. We both shared delicious sides of red cabbage and sliced carrots. To top it off, I had a Pilsner glass of Spaten draft Oktoberfest beer ... yummy!? We'll be going back to Pumpernickel's real soon!“

“DELICIOUS food with wonderful, accommodating waitstaff. They always take my request to make the gnocchi with the hay & straw cream, mushroom snd truffle oil pasta sauce. I go here for birthdays celebrations to brunches as often as I can. Try their Malbec and flourless chocolate cake which is naturally gluten-free—in fact, their brunches have almost all gluten-free options. The coffee is smooth and just wonderful. The outdoor dining experience is as if you are at a party in Europe. They already see me often for 10 years—I love food and this gets my repeat business. Try it at least! “I ended up at Rustic Root twice this weekend. Once for lunch with my hubby. Great Caesar (we shared), followed up with delicious burgers and fries…best buns ever! I liked the vibe so much that when a friend wanted to meet up for a nice glass of wine, that became our destination. Super friendly bartender Hailey, pointed us to the perfect glass tonight. We paired it with a yummy flatbread to share. Great vibe, great food, great service!“

“Another very good dinner at Red Restaurant. Chef Nino welcomed us, and our waitress, Evis, was very attentive. staff. Sardinian Casarecce with savory meat sauce, fennel was delicious, as was the Halibut Oregana. The Cozno drink is the perfect accompaniment to the meal. We also loved the light ricotta cheesecake. It was so nice to have matzo in the bread basket for the holiday! Cheers to Red!“

“A very busy place on Saturday evening. Our reservation was honored and our table was waiting for us. They have an extensive menu with a large variety of large portion meals. We brought leftovers home. And we had no room for dessert after appetizers were shared before the main plates. The pork chop was large! A little light on vegetarian dishes. “I was invited here for a dinner by our Boss who is also an Honourable member of this club. This is place is truly beautiful. Nice water-view! Inside of the place is even more beautiful! Nicely decorated and very Private place! The food was delicious! I’ve tried their fried Calamari and crab cake. One of the best appetizers I’ve ever had! “Made a reservation here for our first night out since our second baby was born. As a parent, a night out is so few and far between when you have a toddler and an infant. We were really looking forward to eating here, knowing the restaurant had just recently open. While my drink was delicious, my husband's was a watered down old fashioned. Next comes the ridiculous part--when I was booking a reservation, I checked out menus thoroughly. On their website, I viewed their menu. Never saw a brunch menu. Our reservation was at 3. We got there 10 minutes early and were seated. Brunch menu still on the table. We ordered drinks and when the waitress came back, I asked when dinner started (now I know 3pm is early for dinner, but we were hoping for apps). She said brunch is served until 5pm. We were at a loss. We ordered the breakfast pizzette to just try something. It came out at least 20 minutes later and it was cold. Eggs were cold. Pizza crust was cold. Barely any prosciutto and what was there was burned. No fondue on our pizza as described, and the arugula smelled awful--it was starting to turn. We couldn't get our check fast enough. Will not be going back. Definitely focus on food before trying to build a social media following with swanky decor.“

“This is a Chinese fast food, takeout joint. Our family has been patronizing this establishment for approximately 30 years. They can always be counted on to deliver, consistent quality Chinese dinners without any fanfare, hassle, or surprises. Would I put them in the class as a Ruth Chris steakhouse? Probably not. But I would put them as a reliable, good Chinese takeout that you can count on. They have, of course menu items, but also will customize the dishes to your preference.“

“We celebrated our anniversary at Bijou in Melville last weekend & it was our first time dining there. I was impressed that they have the kitchen behind a glass wall so that you can see just how clean they keep it! Our waitress was excellent, gave us some great suggestions & was all around a very attentive server. We started with drinks. I had the Lychee Martini & he had a drink called The Beckoning Cat. I LOVED the Martini & he said his drink was good but not his favorite. It was a Sunday night so we each only had 1 drink. Next we had an appetizer. We got the Fried Chicken Bao Buns. I was a little disappointed that it came with 3.... since that made it hard to split between the 2 of us... but I ended up having 2 and he had 1 because he could see how much I enjoyed the first one. They are DELICIOUS - the buns were pillow soft and the chicken was cooked perfectly crunchy, and they also had pickled onion & carrot on them. Next I had the the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice & the Blue Fin Toro roll. The crispy rice has Spicy Tuna, avocado, jalapeno, tobiko, wasabi cream & sweet soy (recommended by our server) which was delicious & just enough to fill me up along with the sushi roll. The Blue Fin Toro Roll has mango, cucumber, tobiko, wasabi mayo, chutoro, scallion, yuzu miso & tempura crunch - MIND BLOWINGLY DELICIOUS!! This was the BEST Sushi Roll I have ever eaten in my entire life!! He had the Marinated Wagyu Skirt Steak, which comes with shisho chimichurri & soy demi glace, and a side of Loaded Roast Potatoes. I forgot to take a picture... whoops! I tasted both & they were also delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly and we both enjoyed the marinade quite a bit. The potatoes were also very good, though nothing to go crazy for. Finally, our waitress asked if we wanted to order desert but we were both too full, so we decided to pass even though there were a few I did want to try. Then she came out with a fresh berry tart with a sparkler as an anniversary surprise!! Well, I had just enough room for that & it was also delicious!! All in all, a great experience and we will be returning in the future, for sure!!“

“I ordered online to pick up and my service dropped so I called back. The same gentleman answered and was very nice and patient, took my order and I forgot to ask for salt, pepper and ketchup on my egg sandwich and he kindly asked if I wanted to add it so kudos for the attention to detail. I arrived and parking is sufficient and it’s right off the main road so it’s easy to access. The Chinese lady greeted me at the counter and was genuinely nice and warm toned and asked if I was there for pick up. My breakfast was ready and she rung me up for $6 and offered me a free coffee which I declined. They sue take debit with a $5 minimum and they use a modern payment device so no pin is needed if you don’t mind that and paying is instant so no waiting on that end either, I was in and out in less then 3 min. The place had a decent amount of seating and was very clean and the customers seemed to be enjoying themselves. This place is a winner and sets the bar high for the other establishments in the area. I ordered an everything bagel with 2 fried eggs, sausage and pepper jack cheese (my only critique would be that they did put a very thin slice of cheese I would have liked to taste more of it) and it was delicious.
