Fantastic specials that cycle often enough to the point where I haven’t been able to order many things from the delicious permanent menu out of fear of missing out on a dish that might not be there the next time. Recommend for a casual experience centered around wonderful food with very friendly service. It’s become my favorite place in Nyack.

Olar Meu is a restaurant in Nyack with excellent food and service. The mussels and home crispini to dunk in the sauce are loved, and the Portabello mushroom dish is delicious. The garlic shrimp, pasta, brussel sprouts and fennel salad are also recommended. The sangria is the best, and the staff is very friendly in a pleasant environment. There are fantastic specials that cycle often enough that the delicious permanent menu is hard to order from out of fear of missing out on a dish that might not be there next time. It is recommended for a casual experience centered around wonderful food with very friendly service. The inviting open walled dining calls passer-Byers in from the street, and a seat by the open walled facing the sidewalk allows guests to enjoy fresh air and people watch. The pan seared shrimp in a garlic and lemon brine with saffron rice and crostini is recommended, and a bottle of wine or sangria makes it a night. The fries are a really tasty way to start, the paella is good, the gnocchi is super soft and the cheese sauce is perfect, the octopus is nice and buttery and cooked to perfection, and the mussels are big and juicy and cooked well. There is plenty of room, great recommendations and consciousness of portions for the table. The pinchos, gambas al ajillo and paella Valencia are excellent, as are the appetizers. The sangria needed more alcohol, but Estrella Dam is a treat. The stuffed dates, calamari and eggplant meatballs are all delicious. Cash only.
