“The carbonara was delicious, fresh, and had a spectacular sauce. The portion was generous, and I was so hungry that I didn’t even think about taking a picture when it arrived.
I would definitely go back, but only for takeout. The service was poor and the place was freezing, so we had to eat with our jackets on. 😪“

“cameriera italiana con capelli corti. scortese e molto maleducata. non tornerò piu. non ha saputo ne servire il cliente oltre al fatto che dovrebbe farsi un corso di corretto italiano prima di parlare con un cliente in quel modo. pessima pubblicità al locale. peccato e mi dispiace ma non tornerò più.“

“Been a realtor in Brooklyn most my life and you know what they say location location location well this time it’s Pasta pasta pasta I’m mean it’s just pasta however if you like pasta and you don’t make it yourself this is the only place when in Brooklyn you need to go. If you care about fresh pasta—whether you’re a chef, a serious home cook, or simply someone who values true quality—this is a must-visit destination. A genuine temple of fresh pasta, and a place Brooklyn can proudly call its own. Beyond the pasta, the shop has a high-end Italian market vibe with a great selection of sauces, imported pantry staples, fresh mozzarella, and more — all at fair prices for New York City. It somehow strikes the perfect balance between old-school Italian neighborhood charm and quality you’d expect from a top artisanal producer. And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, they let me taste their soon-to-be-offered sourdough pizza. Without question, that pizza alone is going to put this place on another level. Once it officially launches, expect lines as far as the eye can see — just for the pizza. If you want to buy a house come see me if it’s pasta and pizza you’re after go see Savinos! Hey but don’t take my word for it what do I know’, go and see for yourself. Tell em Battaglia sent you’ you could thank me later! Love B…“

“Attended my second pasta dinner in December, and it was outstanding. These Tuesday-night tastings feature a six-course menu (5 pasta, 1 dessert) that’s constantly rotating… thoughtfully curated, always impressive, and never the same experience twice.“
“La Trafila is an absolute gem for anyone who loves real Italian pasta. From the moment you step inside, you can feel the passion and precision behind every strand of pasta they produce. This isn’t just a pasta shop — it’s a celebration of Italian tradition, texture, and taste.
What sets La Trafila apart is their dedication to freshness and authenticity. Every shape, from the delicate tagliolini to the perfectly ridged rigatoni, is crafted with care using traditional bronze dies (trafile in Italian — now you get the name!). The result? Pasta that holds sauce beautifully and cooks to perfection every time.
Whether you’re a home cook, a chef, or just a pasta lover, this place is heaven. Their seasonal specials are creative and delicious — think truffle-infused tagliatelle or pumpkin gnocchi in the fall. And the team? Incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and proud of their work, as they should be.
La Trafila is a rare find in New York: a place where quality, tradition, and innovation meet. Once you try their pasta, there’s no going back.
Bravi!“

“Ordered two pizzas. Pizza crusts were spot on and tasty...overall some good pizzas. The sauce though.
A previous review mentioned the sauce was sweet but that they probably don't add sugar to their tomato sauce. I would disagree with that assumption. Half way through the pizza ... The sweetness kinda took over for me. And that's just a personal preference maybe?
Service was cold and not the friendliest.
The set up itself was decent enough and clean... They had some latin music playing which was ok.
I'm not sure I'd come back if I was in New York next. If you enjoy sweet pizza sauce you'll love this place because the crust was really good :) Just the sweetness of the sauce was not to my taste.“

“Pizzaslice is about Ø10$
Pasta is about 15-18$ but fresh made
unfortunaltely the service was a little unfriendly or not willing to give normal response to my question.
All over the pizzaslice was good with plenty of cheese“
“This is not a restaurant. They make the best fresh made pasta. They have a retail store in little Italy, and this is where they make the pasta.
They will sell to walk in customers, but it's better to order ahead to pickup. They also sell some cheese and sauces, and a few imported items from Italy.
I used to get my pasta from Cassinelli in Astoria, and was very sad when they closed.
Now I get fresh fettuccine all the time. Last time I got a pound each of the egg, tomato and spinach lasagna sheets, and made a few tricolor lasagnas. Just fabulous!“

The salads & pastas are always fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. And the staff? They treat us like family every time we come in. It’s one of those rare places that just gets it right—every single time. Love you guys!“

“So delicious! I got the Alfredo (which everyone gets) which came out of the Parmesan cheese wheel and was flavorful, buttery, and very comforting. The only negative comment is the water was really expensive ($5!) and they don’t have tap water, and also the music is very loud. I’d highly recommend and suggest it!“

“Durso’s Pasta & Ravioli Company is a beloved Flushing staple, offering an authentic Italian culinary experience rooted in tradition and quality. As soon as you step into the shop, you’re greeted by the many inviting aromas, the sight of hanging prosciutto, and a beautiful display of over 50 freshly prepared dishes, which are made daily.
The sandwiches are absolutely delicious, generously portioned, and perfect for a very hungry individual like myself or for sharing. If you are ordering ready to eat items, plan ahead as this is a strictly take out establishment.
You’ll also find a wide variety of gourmet, ready to enjoy meals, imported cheeses and meats, and Italian pantry staples and gift items. Their selection of homemade ravioli, fresh pastas, and sauces from classic marinara to rich bolognese is unmatched. The service is top notch, and the ambiance has a warm, family feel that makes every visit feel like coming home.
Durso’s combines quality, tradition, and hospitality a true Italian culinary gem in Queens.“

“I never leave reviews of places, but after stopping by tonight I felt compelled to!!
I've passed this spot a few times now and have been curious, today I stopped by on a whim to grab a slice (well I intended to grab 2) -- but after trying the buldak pizza, I had to go back to the counter and get another!!
The taste was great, and the crisp on the pies were perfect. Everyone behind the counter was so nice and friendly! I'm so glad to have this spot in the neighborhood although it may be dangerous to have something so good and so convenient -- this close by. Excited to go back and try everything else on the menu!!
UPDATE: Went back and tried the korean fried boneless chicken -- SO SO INCREDIBLE!! Also the kimbap!!“

“TL;DR version: Stick with the basic pies. There's also a good nonna/grandma slice. Any slice with a lot of toppings will be on a much thicker base, which is a bit too doughy.
This is a pizza place that's been around for a while. They used to have only the main storefront, but I believe, based on the sign and the menu, that they own Fresh Basil's Trattoria next door, which used to be a Johnny Rockets and most recently, a diner specializing in seafood. Speaking of that trattoria, they do sell a lot of Italian-American classics, such as pasta and other related dishes, but I would recommend sticking with the pizza here.
I've been here almost every time for lunch because they have a reasonably priced lunch special that includes two slices and a fountain drink. It used to be $7.50 for two plain, or for an extra 50¢, two Sicilians. This then went up by a dollar to $8.50 or $9, and as of the most recent, I believe it's $9 for either choice. They also added, at one point or another, a combination of any slice of pizza and a selection of 1 salad, including Caesar, Tricolore, House Garden, and Della Cassa, if I recall correctly, for $12. For all these combos, you can pay tax-free if you pay in cash. They were also serving Chicken Parmesan for $15.95 or $16.95 as one of their lunch specials, which didn't look right for take-out but tasted pretty solid with an OK vodka sauce, and it was a very large portion for that price point.
As you can imagine from the special, I've mostly stuck with the two plain slices, though I'm tempted to do the salad special another day. The plain slice is the best idea, with a thin crust, a mild chew, and just enough color on the bottom. The tomato sauce is the highlight here, not overly sweet, and with good brightness and acidity. There is also plenty of cheese, but not too much that it feels too heavy.
If you are going to get a non-plain slice, I would recommend their Grandma. It's an excellent version that highlights their tomato sauce, which isn't overly sweet and is pretty bright and acidic. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend slices with a bunch of toppings like the Angry Nonna or mushroom and spinach, as the dough is much thicker. I presume this is to keep the slice from falling apart, but I find the latter slices a bit too doughy, which reminds me a little bit of the terrible chain pizza place up the block, Little Italy Pizza. If you need a unique slice and don't mind some doughiness, the Pestorita isn't bad either, available with or without pepperoni.
While definitely not my favorite pie I've ever had, it's a good standard pizza and a prototypical NYC plain slice. During weekdays, they are crowded during lunch for a good reason. It is certainly better than most generic slices, and this rings especially true in this bad neighborhood for slices, but I wouldn't go out of my way if you have another good pie nearby.“
