“This vineyard is really special. It is truly family-run and operated, and the family is lovely, hospitality is clearly in their DNA. We took a tour, which was led by the owner, started with glasses of sparkling wine, and included him pouring us a glass directly out of the barrel - see picture for evidence! :) We had a charcuterie board with our wine tasting which was amazing, as were the wines! The views are beautiful, it’s right on the lake. The indoor space is also cozy and thoughtfully designed. You would be missing out not to stop by this vineyard while you’re in Finger Lakes.“
“Found ourselves in Penn Yan, randomly stopped in and it was an amazing decision. Our host with a distinctive Scottish accent was excellent. We lost track and just let him drive. We started out preference and he just started pouring - we enjoyed the ride. The only complaint I have is we weren't offered a menu with a golf pencil. The wine is fantastic, so are the ciders. My wife said it was the best cherry cider she has ever tasted. We both enjoyed the strawberry and was part of our purchase. Don't pass this place up, even consider a special trip.“
“Dry Rose 2022 was (is) a great wine for sharing over a friendly brunch with friends. No matter how particular and fussy some people are about what they consider to be "good" wine or proper pairings (not that they are all that expert!), everyone enjoyed and filled their glass for a second time (and a couple for a third!). Good thing I had bottles in reserve! A very friendly and enjoyable wine that complemented without competing with brunch. A good choice.“
“This was our last stop on a Sunday after a full day of winery hopping. This place did not disappoint, the wine was flavorful and the cheese spreads were very tasty too. I wish we had more time there but it was 10 minutes to closing and we didnt want to linger and be THOSE people. we will definitely return here.“
“Visited in Nov '23. Great wines. Bought a bottle of carbonated Traminette. Just got around to opening it now. Beautifully balanced wine with just enough acidity and a hint of carbonation that cuts through Traminette's inherent sweetness. I want more!“

“Anyone that doesn't rate this winery 5 stars has no palate. I have been to Germany and visited their best (Prum, Haag, von Schubert, Kerpen and others). I know what great Riesling is. This winery hits greatness whereas others are very good, at best. There are some new wineries that show great promise but they are all vying for #2.“
“Stopped here for our first wine tasting and enjoyed our wine on the dock on the water. The view and atmosphere were fantastic! Our wines were delicious and the staff was so friendly. They happily served water to our pup. Locals were pulling up to the dock for wine as well. Would definitely come back!“
“It's been 15 yrs since last visit to this 7 generation Vinyard. Since then I've been looking for their ice wine (I like dry, bold wine, and never liked any other sweet wines, by US or Europe, BUT...). The farm had quite a bit of improvement including the tasting room. I'm delighted to know they've been going towards sustainability, including organic farm certification and solar power. The ice wine was just like I remembered - well balanced with noble sweetness of muscat grapes. Truly one of a kind. I got 20% discount for a case of this and also, Cream Sherry, which was also sweet but well balanced, great for after dinner or even afternoon tea time. Fiy, ice wine grapes are handpicked. The care you can taste in a glass.“
“This unassuming, vibrant red building was recommended to us during a nearby tasting. If you enjoy fruit wines or sweet wines, this is definitely a place to try! It was good bang for your buck and we got to pick the 5 wines we tried. Fiancée really enjoyed the wines and we never would’ve tried it without the recommendation so I hope anyone reading this tries it too!“
“My husband and I have visited the Fingerlakes Wine region for many years, but have yet to visit Scout Vineyards. The owner told us it was newer - established in 2020. The winery is small and reservations are recommended. My family happened to hit the timing perfectly and we were able to be seated for a tasting at one of the three tables. The list of five - six wines is very white wine-heavy. Although I am normally a red wine drinker, I thoroughly enjoyed the whites. The chardonnay was crisp, and it was an interesting experience tasting the 2021 and 2022 Reislings side-by-side. The tasting was fifteen dollars and you got a plate of locally-made eats: fresh baguettes and dried fruit. The owner even gave my five and seven-year-old their own food plate to nosh on while my husband and I tasted the wines. The owner was very nice and extremely professional. Bottles of wine to purchase range in the 20-30 dollar range. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We will certainly be back.“
