“Maria’s Sans Rival cake lives up to the meaning of its name, undoubtedly unrivaled. It was made of sheets of chewy meringue loaded with crunchy cashew nuts, alternating with thick layers of “melt-in-your mouth” buttercream. Glad it was not too sweet that I was able to enjoy large servings of this delightful dessert. Great with coffee or tea.“

“I ordered a baby shower cake from Fleetwood Bakery in Mount Vernon, and they absolutely nailed it! The whole experience was seamless, and they even delivered it right to my home, which was such a help. The cake itself was blue velvet with a cream cheese filling, and it was unbelievably soft, moist, and flavorful. Everyone at the shower kept asking where it was from! “The cannolis here are INCREDIBLE... 10/10!!! The cookies are pretty good, too, as they are not overly sweet and go perfectly with coffee or tea. However, their mini cakes are not the best, which is why I'm docking a star. I ordered a mini tiramisu which was dry and seemed to have a frosting layer rather than a creamy mascarpone, which was disappointing. Overall, awesome bakery! I would just say to avoid the mini cakes.“

“Layers Bakeshop is hands down my favorite bakery. The first time I ever had Layers was actually in Pakistan, so it already held a special place for me. Later on, a close friend introduced me to the U.S. locations and fun fact, she and her brother actually own the franchise. They’ve truly done an amazing job with every store so far.

I’ve been to about three Layers locations, and while the Elmont Layers Bakeshop location is the smallest one, it’s also the closest to me, which makes it my go-to. The quality, presentation, and consistency are always on point.

Honestly, I love almost everything from this bakery, but right now my absolute favorite is anything Lotus-flavored you really can’t go wrong with it. The desserts are rich, balanced, and never disappoint.

I also noticed they’ve started making candles, which is such a smart and creative addition to the brand. It just shows how much thought they put into expanding beyond desserts while keeping the same aesthetic and quality.

If you haven’t tried Layers yet, you’re seriously missing out. Highly recommend stopping by especially the Elmont location if you’re nearby.“

“I ordered a specialty cake for my mother and it was FABULOUS! The cake was unique, 2 - tier choc and vanilla with a hazelnut cream filling. It was covered in a lovely lavender frosting with lace flowers and unique lettering. It was fresh and special!“

“I’ve been going to this bakery every time I crave a treat. From their cookies to pastries and pies i have never once had an issue. The place is clean and well decorated, and during the holidays they have the most delicious festive desserts. During thanksgiving me and my family bought a delicious pumpkin pie, it wasn’t tooth ache sweet, but rather had many flavor profiles that was enhanced by a bit of sweetness. Their cookies are the best i have had so far, once again not too sweet, but rather enhanced by the extra flavors on top. And just the other day i bought a blueberry puff pastry, it was absolutely delicious, the crunchy texture on the top, the buttery fluffy puff pastry and the blueberry sweet filling. I would definitely recommend trying small businesses such as Cookies and Cream Pastry shop over any bigger chain. You can see the care they put into their products and business. the quality, the aesthetics, the taste of the product is absolutely outstanding. The staff are very sweet as well, taking the time to greet every customer, and allowing you to decide on what you want without rush. Definitely recommend this place!!“

“Workers are kind of awkward cuz they're all teens except for the manager, which is okay.
The ice cream is amazing though. And they piled that stuff on. I couldn't finish it and it took me half an hour to even get halfway through it.
I ordered a small vanilla cup with no toppings.
It's far cheaper than Cold Stone Creamery and almost has the same aspects.
If you loved Mr. Softee's ice cream growing up, those ice cream trucks always going around the block, than this ice cream is for you.“

“This place is one of my favorite places to come to for breakfast. Its a korean cafe offering everything you would get at paris baguette and what you would order at a deli. All the counter folks speak both korean and english and theyre courteous. The older korean folks like to come here and gather here in the mornings while a mix of customers for the cakes, breakfast food and their coffees. My only negative is since th egg price hike, theyve doubled everything in price. The prices have gone down and yet, their prices stay the same. All in all, id come back here to treat myself and the family every now and then.“

“They have a Hong Kong style rice noodle or cheung fun (肠粉) that is not commonly found, I highly recommend the rice noodles with fish balls. It has a peanut sauce and sesame seeds as well as hoisin and soy sauce. It is absolutely delicious, reminds me of my childhood.“

“I come here some Wednesdays for the BOGO soft serve. The same two guys are always here and they are always very polite and helpful. Some days there are crowds of kids or families waiting to be served and they still provide good service. I love Carvel in general and this is a good location, very reliable. Parking can be iffy if there isn't anything open on the street but you may just need to find something residential or a block or so away and walk.“

“The only carvel in Queens that has a cookie monster option and it is the BEST. I am an ice cream feign. So i will drive for some ice cream and most definitely when my friends come into town I take them to this specific carvel (if they've never had carvel ice cream before) because I can ensure they will like it. The staff at this location is the best they are efficient, kind, and usually younger too which is so refreshing. Keep it up and please never get rid of the cookie monster !“
