“We stopped by BreadsNBakes in Pound Ridge for some pastries and a simple question — did they sell King Arthur or another high-quality flour for a sourdough starter? Kate not only took the time to chat with us, but actually disappeared into the back for several minutes and returned with a container of starter for us to take home. She treated it like no big deal, but to us it was such a kind and thoughtful gesture — the sort of small-town generosity you don’t often find in larger cities. Kate went above and beyond, and we left not only with a starter, but with a big smile and a genuine appreciation for her warmth.“

“Raphael's Bakery is the absolute best! I was in town from NorCal and I stopped by to meet a friend in Greenwich. I had some time to kill so I started asking Charlotte about why my homemade sourdough bread wasn't successful. She called Raphael over who, while he didn't share his secret receipe, he helped me understand the reasons why my bread wasn't full of air and getting any "oven lift." They were both so gracious with their time and experience......I hope they will consider offering cooking classes at some point. Absolute class act people!“

“My family loves The Cake Box! My son has a peanut allergy and it is so nice that they don't use any peanut products at all! He can have any cupcake his heart desires and I don't have to worry about his allergy. The cupcakes are soft, fluffy and delicious.“

“Mom and Pop bagel place. Awesome tasting bagels for a very reasonable price. Place gets very busy. We stopped by around 930am and had to wait about 20 minutes for our food. But, It was worth it. Fresh bagels were being made as we waited. It was cool to see the baking process.“

“Quick appreciation post to Cobs Bread on High Ridge Road. My 2 year old son went in earlier and took a VERY long time to pick out what he wanted. The young lady helping us was so patient and kind with him. Once he picked out his treat, she told us that it was on her. So amazing. The young lady was wearing a Stamford High Mask. “Springdale bakery is on to something! Their bread is ridiculously good. I placed an order and it was on my doorstep the next morning, freshly baked. It reminds me of the crazy good bread you get for breakfast in Europe. We have so far eaten it toasted with butter and honey and with split pea soup.I’ve got all kinds of crazy ideas for this bread…including toasting it and crumbling it on top of Mac and cheese.Already placed my next order. This will become a staple.“

“The bagels here are some of the best I've ever had! My favorite is the blueberry. The service is great and they are happy to toast and cut your bagel however you like. They will wrap up your items nicely and offer you extra bags if you want, it's always such a good experience! They also have a variety of cream cheeses; lox, strawberry, plain, etc.

The pastries and baked goods are hit or miss for me. The linzer cookies are great but the cakes aren't my favorite. I suppose they have something for everyone.

“I’ve found it. The best way to blow through a paycheck over a single breakfast. Espresso and a pastry for $15…. But, somehow, I think I’ll be coming back. Love the communal atmosphere with great big heavy wooden tables and chairs. A number of 4 and 6 tops as well. Bright and airy open feel make this a lovely warm atmosphere to share a delicious espresso and pastry. Espresso was quite tasty but unfortunately served in a tiny paper cup - I guess I should have specified I was eating in. Nice nuttiness and a subtle bitterness and right up my alley. There were so many amazing looking pastries on display i really struggled to decide how to put back on all of the calories I just lost on my Peloton but eventually landed on the Chocolate Chip Cookie Croissant. And - holy smokes - it did not disappoint. The thing must weigh 8 ounces due to it being stuffed with chocolate chip cookie dough and a plethora of incredibly delicious molten chocolate. Incredibly naughty and delicious. Great spot to stop in for a pastry but they also have a larger menu with salads and breakfast specialties in addition to their lovely baked goods. Unreal!!“

“Products are great, staff friendly, Historical land. Washington and Rochambeau trained there troops together on this land from the farm to the hospital and park area. After the war Washington had his headquarters in Newburgh , while the British took their time leaving in New York City harbor, so to be notified if the British were coming back up the Hudson River. Washington put single fire 🔥 along the Hudson, so eventually he would see flames and get troops ready for battle again. The Hill behind the main house, is where one of those fires 🔥 was to be lit. So now you know why the farm is off Guard Hill Rd.“

“The black forest cake was delicious. Well worth the visit for my wife's favorite cake in her birthday. I ordered about a day in advance. There was a slight wait when I picked up in the morning. It was the perfect excuse to treat myself to coffee and pastries.“
