“i hardly ever leave reviews, but i felt inclined after ordered from bennys tonight. i am a first gen cuban and this place really hit the spot. they went the extra mile to include their version of moros which i asked for even though it wasn’t on the menu. love places like this, love even more to support a CUBAN small business. He was very responsive and did whatever he could to make planning easy during a difficult time. Everything was set up as discussed. The food and drinks were delicious and service was great as well. “Cabana in Forest Hills has that lively, island vibe — upbeat music, friendly service, and food that feels like a mini getaway. I ordered the chuleta de cerdo (pork chops) with rice, black beans, and tostones. The sides were delicious — and lucky me, the tostones came with a garlic dip, which I happily used to give my pork chops the extra kick they needed 😉. I was hoping for a bit more Dominican-style flavor from the pork, but overall, a solid spot for good vibes and Latin comfort food done right.“

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with pleasant music that really enhances the overall vibe. Our servers, especially Jose, were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and truly welcoming. They checked in on us regularly and offered great recommendations. The excellent service and beautiful ambiance made the night especially enjoyable. It’s a perfect spot for a date night or a girls’ day out. I absolutely love their brunch hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and the live salsa music adds such a fun and lively touch. I’ve been here many times, and it’s easily one of my favorite restaurants. Highly recommend!“

“I was amazed by "squid rice with shrimp". It's cooked with squid ink. There is no fishy taste at all but all the goodie including red pepper, green pepper oinion, pea and of course squid and shrimp. The drink is amazing. Be careful, they are very very strong! Owners and servers are super friendly as well.“

“The food here is absolutely delicious — you can really taste the authenticity in every dish. The mojito sauce is out of this world and easily one of the best I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for real Colombian flavor, this is definitely the place.

The only downside is the service; it could definitely be improved. If you don’t speak Spanish, it sometimes feels like you’re a bit of a bother to the staff. It’s not enough to keep me from coming back, but it’s something to be aware of.

Overall, the food makes up for it — just be patient, and you’ll be rewarded with an amazing meal!“
