“This is in the airport, at LaGuardia, just before gate 77.... Nicholas served me a fire drink and their Grilled Chicken Burger, with Avocado and the lot. I ate it with my hands and so it was all over my mouth but OMG this burger is fire .... It was just a tang spicy, meaty and creamy with the avocado and shrooms, I loved it. I can't say I've had a burger like this before, so it lead me to writing a review. My compliments to the chef. Keep up the good work.“

“Let me start out by saying , I’m a big on reading reviews before trying a spot. I can see why Nita has a 4.9.

Last night was my first time trying this spot. Ive been looking to get a place where I can get some good late night eats on my break and luckily I found them. I was greeted with attentiveness and southern hospitality which made the atmosphere easy to relax. I got three platters ( Fried fish, BBQ Wings , Fried Fish & Shrimp W/ seasoned fries ). The fish was fresh , seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fries were also seasoned with care. Let’s just say the food and vibe was so good that here I am writing a review on my way to get 4 more platters. Best fried fish I’ve had !.

Regular wait time expected due to getting everything fresh.

“Please make hush puppies a side choice with seafood orders. It used to be very popular in the 90s to order in the Bronx with seafood.

I used Google translate to write what they are in Spanish if understand what it is better in Spanish. Los hush puppies son pequeñas bolas saladas, fritas y elaboradas con masa de harina de maíz, que son un alimento básico de la cocina del sur de Estados Unidos.“

“My friend brought me here when I was visiting San Francisco and I wished he brought me here multiple times (but theres so much good food in SF). The fish were crispy and the meat was nice and tender. The fries were nice and thick and salted nicely.“

“I ordered my food over the phone they told me 20 minutes, I waited an additional 15 upon arrival. Nevertheless, the price was very affordable and pretty tasty. I got fish and fries, I used my own tarter sauce my; the seasoning on the fish was there (although the batter came apart very easily from thr fish). The food was good, service ehh.“

“I was visiting Brooklyn and needed food, I looked up fish on yelp. It was like ennie mennie minnie moe. I chose Soul of the Sea after I viewed the menu. I called first to see if they are open because a lot of businesses closed due to COVID-19. Someone answered immediately and did in fact confirm that they were open. I informed them that I was coming but. When I arrived I announced that I called and placed my order. The person that took my order was very kind, friendly, and courteous. His customer service was fantastic. I ordered the fish sandwich and asked what kind of fish was on the sandwich, he directed me to the menu and said, whiting, do you see it under section of fish sandwich. I did conquer. He told me the price and asked if that price was fine. I said yes and then ordered a carrot cake. His attitude compelled me to buy something as I was eager to support a mom and pop style restaurant. I told the person taking my order that I was passing through and needed to eat. He thanked me for stopping in. The interaction was wonderfully pleasant, the store clean and the staff was attentive. The person that came to the front of the business to sweep, greeted me and thanked me for stopping in. This is an A class, 5 star service restaurant when it comes to serving the customer. Enough about the interaction and now the food. The sandwich was proportioned with a decent amount that was not too filling. I'm used to pieces of fish that were too long for the bread. I am also very pleased that they gave me wheat bread instead of white. The carrot cake was surprisingly not too sweet as I didn't want nothing sweet sweet. Bravo guy's“

“Got my lobster roll before they close for the season. No problem about The hot sun the afternoon was extremely blustery. I’ve always loved this place even though it is pricey for a clam shack.“

“I visited this restaurant for the first time last summer, upon moving back from Florida and baby it did not disappoint. I went with my co-worker the other day and of course I loved it, but she did as well and is looking forward to going back. The staff is very helpful and great. Truly always positive vibes and energy and I'm here for that especially from a black owned business. I love it 10 snaps and a twirl.“

“foods really good I wouldn't recommend getting anything fried as I know from experience there's usually more breading then there is seafood on the fried items. with that being said go in and indulge on several of the steamed items lastly don't forget to get the yellow rice with it last time I went they were charging an extra 2 dollars for the rice the price could of gone up a bit.“

“I’ve been going to this place since I was a little girl. I moved 5 years ago and visited while in the Bronx. So nostalgic, same people there. The place is still clean. The fried fish is still some of the best I’ve ever had. No frills, nothing fancy still great. Brought my 14 year old along with me for the first time he loved the food as well.“

“They're pretty good. No substitutes are allowed, decent prices. Can't complain. Should be a tad more accommodating. For instance, 6 crab sticks are about $7-8, I asked for half, I was told it's either 6 or nothing. I chose something else. But not everyone eats big portions. No biggie but was still annoyed. You definitely can't go wrong with the fish sandwich.“

“Tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday, let me tell you , if I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would.
The escovitch snapper meal with rice and peas, steam veggies and Macaroni salad was simply amazing.
What was even more impressive was the level customer service.

“The fish is fresh and good. They have a large variety of all kinds of seafood.The problem is: the portions are too small. They are very cheap with the veggies and yellow rice on steam orders.I will speak to the owners to change this, since the food alone would get 5 stars!“

“I was craving fried fish tonight . I just had to have it. Im scrolling through Yelp trying to find a place to eat fish and then I scrolled upon her. Maxine's On The Boulevard. I was driving and looking for this place. It wasn't lite up, sign was dark, but I caught the name Maxine and I said that's it, made a u turn, and parked around the corner. I thought to myself this is a hole in the wall. People where coming in and out of this place. I called a head of time and asked if they had catfish and whiting and she said yes. Baby, let me tell you I ordered my food and that was one of the best fish and chicken I had in queens so far. This is going to be my soul food spot from now and I hope they stay consistent. This place is a must try.“
