Waiting for my son to get checked out at Rochester General, I needed to find lunch on East Ridge Road. I bypassed all the fast-food chains and found Sam's Diner tucked in a tiny mall. The tuna melt on rye was terrific with large slabs of tomato. The waitress gave me extra napkins, and I enjoyed every bite.
Great Mom and Pop diner - I go there weekly. The owners are sweet and will rebuke my friends and I if we are late! Good hot food served quickly and just the way you like it. Check Sam's out - it has earned its good reputation and has many customers who have been coming back for years and years.

They don't make their own corned beef hash or sausage gravy. The lentil soup was delicious. We ordered paninis which was a creative yet not quite accurate way to say a grilled sandwich. The chicken with feta, tomato and spinach was good. The chicken was moist, feta plentiful and the veg appeared to be fresh. The monte cristo was not a monte cristo in my view. It was a turkey n ham with cheese sandwich. The staff were friendly and they seemed to be serving a lot of regu
