“Went on a friday evening in which Flamenco was playing we made reservations and was seated promptly. Nice decor and vibrant restaurant located in the Best Western hotel. We got the prefix meal and a bottle of wine. Everything was excellent starting with service and following with the food. Entertainment was also on point we had a harpist to beging the evening followed by flamenco couple accompanied by live singer and musician. I enjoyed my evening and appreciated have a cultured dinner close to my home. The maitre d Juan Giovanni always checked upon us to make sure we were okay. Definitely a hidden gem in Queens.“

“My daughter and I found ourselves in this neck of the woods, and we luckily stumbled upon Tres Diamantes [Three Diamonds]! Our server, Darleny, was warm, welcoming and sweetly tolerated my attempts to speak in Spanish. Everyone else also appeared friendly and efficient as they catered to the other patrons; most of whom, if not all, were clearly regulars. The restaurant and bar area were airy and festive, the restrooms tidy and clean. Darleny brought us guacamole, which, interestingly and in true Salvadorian tradition, was made with hard-boiled eggs. The guac was perfectly balanced and delicious; if it was a larger serving, I could have made a meal out of it and a beer or two! We also ordered ceviche [fresh and tasty], beef stew [authentic as heck], and yummy pupusas. As others have stated, a 20% service charge was automatically added to our bill, and if paying with a credit card, an additional 3% “processing fee” will be levied.
We enjoyed our meals, the service, and the atmosphere. I look forward to returning and suggest you give them a try sometime.“

“You have the best roasted chicken of all time and your salmon is delicious too when I can catch it because its very popular and goes fast. People are friendly and you're my go to when I don't feel like cooking. I had to take one star 🌟 off because you need better variety for your side dishes. The vegetables you have are blah. When you change that you'll get 5 stars across the board. Ohh yeah love your soups too.“

“So my second time writing a review for this place and it deserves it ....Just recently tried breakfeast there and although its not that much different then a typical American breakfest that i am used to i would suggest trying it
Changing up potatoes for plantains , those pickled onions and a litle cheese this is the place to come if youre someone who didnt grow up eating this type of authentic food
Makes me wish i had a Dominican gramdma who made me this dish my whole life ....try this place and if not tu mucho loca or o
Support local businesses that get it right!!!
Places like this make me never want to leave this neighborhood and make life better as if you dont try different things you are boring !“

“I was referred here by my friend who buys food from here often and shared and it's always delicious. My husband and I come from long island as often as we can now because we have never been disappointed with all the food we bought. Staff and owners are wonderful and very welcoming and grateful for our patronage which we love. The portions are great and pleasantly pleased that they include plantains. My absolute favorite is the beef stew, always mouth watering and tender. We will continue to return. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.“

Both were good size portions. If I was not traveling, I would have taken leftovers. The Restroom was clean, staff very attentive, atmosphere elegant. 🫶🏽

“I work at the local school and didn’t know this place existed for the longest time until my coworker was eating the food and it looked delicious. I don’t eat meat so I got the fried fish, rice and beans and plantain. Omg it was incredible. On Fridays they make a seafood bisque soup that’s just as good and apparently very popular. Friendly workers too. My go-to place for lunch take out now.“
“We like a lot going out. Yesterday we arrived in this superb place which friends recommended to us. We spent a delightful evening there with exceptional meal and an efficient stuff and an impressive chef. We added this venue in our list and we will no doubt visit again very soon. We warmly recommend.“

“I was craving a Cubano. I should have asked how they make theirs. The sandwich I got was good but it wasn't a Cubano. My idea of a Cuban sandwich is Roast pork, sliced ham, swiss cheese, a pickle and mustard. Hero bread pressed flat. I hear some people use salami instead of ham. The sandwich I recieved had no pickle no cheese no mustard and was not pressed. I'll give them another try because their food looked good in the trays. If I get another Cubano, I'll ask them if they can make it my way.“

“Great Food, exceptional service and margaritas to die for! Our group of four has been dying to find a good Mexican restaurant (we have tried many)and 5 De Mayo did not disappoint. From our server, to our "Guacamole Girl" to the owner Roberto who came to our table to check in and offer dessert and/or a shot (free of charge), we could not have found a better hidden gem. We will not have to try another Mexican Restaurant as long as 5 De Mayo is around!“

“This is my go-to spot, not only because it's close to home, but because the food is delicious. I cook almost everyday at home, but on days when I am not in the mood, this is where I go. Pernil is always good, as is their pollo guisado, carne guisada, and baked chicken. Mangu is on point if you make it for breakfast. Good portions.“

“A whole vibe!!! From the moment you walk in, you are captivated. The decor, the music and the beautiful staff begin the wonderful experience that's about to occur. The food is exquisite in presentation and taste.i have visited the location in Forest Hills also but the experience in RVC is incomparable. (My daughter works near Forest Hills and frequented the other location but immediately stated she likex RVC just entering the restaurant) Iliana, Chastity, Julie and others, thank you for a great evening. Be back soon and every time I visit NY“
