So, in addition to favorites like paella, grilled octopus, and patatas bravas, there's also a decent selection of pastas and Italian fair via Argentina. And in warmer weather, the back garden can't be beat. Always fun music playing (often 80s dance or rock hits), homemade sangrias and a finished meal with free shots of Limoncello round out the meal. Friendly, top-notch service too. Let's keep this place going! They'd be worth the wait.“

But … I found the food to be lacking in taste (particularly the Gilda and Kroketas) and the presentation was similar to what my mother would have done. Not bad, just average. I read about its Basque heritage but nothing about the restaurant and food really felt Basque to me (and I lived in Spain for a few years, working in the Basque Country). And more importantly, I found the wine to be middling. Nonetheless, my friend and I had a great time and the service was excellent.“

Fish is a specialty I went with halibut which came with an awesome leek based sauce. My friend had a steak and it came with an awesome sauce too. Desert was a banana bread pudding in a sugary sauce again. This place has sauce!! Service nice and friendly quite attentive. But I have no clue why I’m able to eat it here with the tacos… it’s that good. Opt for the large tacos. The regular size is fine but for just a dollar more you get more bang for the buck, literally. Very low key establishment. It isn’t festive. I don’t believe they serve alcohol either. But the tacos are amazing. And amazingly affordable! As always, better to eat fresh and dine in. “Wow!! Just around the corner from where I live and so glad I stopped in!!! The food is so fresh and well seasoned and flavorful. I had the garlic shrimp, meatballs and half chicken. The meatballs have a little lemon which I've never had and makes them so fresh. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the chicken was tender and bright. So satisfying. Great and friendly service. Can't wait to come back.“

The highlight for me was the portobello carpaccio (not pictured). The tapas are nicely sized for being tapas. We got sangrias but I'd probably try a cocktail or do a white wine next time. They did kindly give us complimentary white wine which was super sweet! Dessert was delish and I'd def try the chocolate mousse next time as well. “Flavorful and satisfying!We started with the Callos, which combined a slightly sweet delectable sauce with astoundingly tender chopped tripe (I would liken it to a savory marshmallow, almost). The chorizo and garbanzo played their part serviceably.We followed it with the Uni Palabok. The uni and caviar were very tasty, and it was nice to try quality ingredients. However, the relative intensity of the sauce somewhat drowned out the more delicate flavors of the uni and caviar.(From my wife who grew up eating Palabok, it is *extremely* elevated)Our last entree was the Lengua de Champinon, and it was phenomenal! The tongue was expertly cooked and wonderfully tender, and the creamy mushroom sauce was a great pairing for it.For dessert, they don't have it listed on the menu yet, but they had some Tres Leches cake available. The cake was perfectly saturated with milk sauce while maintaining it's form, and instead of the standard whipped cream, it had meringue on top which was quite interesting!It was a bit pricey, but the menu is online so that's no surprise.“

There were plenty of tables, so the bartender asked us if we'd like to sit, and then went and asked her to seat us. And the chocolate lava cake to finish. The dishes, drink and dessert we had were great. If the few dishes we ordered tasted that great. I can only imagine how great the rest of the menu must be. These guys do chorizo right ?? Empanadillas de Puerco y Chorizo and the Spanish chorizo were some of my favorite dishes. Highly recommend trying the chorizo! Mac & Cheese croquetas were bomb! Worth getting for the table. Carne Adobada and fries were delightful — tender, savory skirt steak and I LOVED the seasoned fries and sauce duo. If you’re into coffee, end the meal with the espresso ice cream. The walls are covered with a deteriorating coat of brown paint... but the costillas is so awesome, I won't hold it against them. Hell... the men's bathroom was clean. What can I say? I'll take the crappy brown paint any day of the week when you're serving up a nice, thick Sancocho like the one we just had. The waitress was phenomenal for this place, too. Very personable, never rushing us, but efficient and just wanting to please. I also had a Shrimp Salad, and while they ran out of Romaine lettuce and sub'd it with Iceberg lettuce, they've got a good dressing and I enjoyed it. I don't live close by, but I'd definitely go back!“
