“I love the service. The food is ALWAYS delicious. I’m a sucker for their omelettes. I love a good window seat and to write while I’m there. It’s always clean and everyone is friendly and I love watching all the families and regulars come in with their kids or grand parents. The coffee is good. The parking is endless and they have a ramp for anyone needing the use of it. Desserts galore in tall fridge as soon as you walk in — you can always grab that to go after you finish your meal. Large portions. Excellent prices. I love the place!!“

“My partner and I booked a last-minute reservation at Aviary on a snowy night over the holidays, and it turned into one of the highlights of our visit to the area. The staff was warm and welcoming, the vibe lively and pleasant, and the food delicious. The menu was inventive and the portions plentiful, and we felt like we were lucky to have picked this spot. “Absolutely wonderful experience! I took 12 employees out to celebrate the holiday season and see a show in Albany. From the time we called for a reservation, right through dinner, the entire staff, and especially our server Casey were so welcoming and accommodating. The drinks, food, and service were all superb! Casey made us feel like we were the only thing that mattered in the restaurant, while the kitchen and bar handled some special requests with ease! In a world where the meaning of hospitality seems to have been forgotten by so many, this restaurant still knows what it means, and executes flawlessly. I highly recommend, and will definitely be back when in the Albany area. (I may even have to make a special trip back just for this restaurant!)“

“I’ve been looking forward to checking out the restaurant, Dove & Deer, since I first encountered their food when their chef was highlighted at the annual Summer Gala fundraiser here in Hudson last year. Their chef served an incredible amuse-bouche with gooseberries and the chef who was there sharing the amuse-bouches was wonderfully charming and the food was incredible! I was so impressed that I’ve been following their social media since then and have been looking forward to visiting the restaurant all the while! I was recently in the area and while I unfortunately wasn’t able to visit the restaurant in person- I was able to order through Door Dash and the meal was incredible! We ordered an assortment of things to share and were thrilled with everything! -Spicy Kale Caesar with shredded kale, croutons, and shaved parmesan! -Truffle Parm Fries with scallions and truffle aioli! -Mini Wagyu Beef Hotdogs made with wagyu beef, served in buttery toasted buns, and topped with mustard, ketchup, and relish! -Hot Lobster Dip made with lobster claw and knuckle meat, gruyere, gouda, fontina, spinach, scallion, and crispy wontons! It is often very difficult for a restaurant to adjust their menu to translate to takeout; and for them to do so where every single dish was not only delicious but also mostly with a great presentation, says a great deal about their attention to detail. This is a restaurant I look forward to dining at again many more times over the years!“

Even better is the atmosphere with the same, warm staff & owners that greet us every week. My 3 year old daughter feels like a VIP with smiles and hugs from Corey & Sam. “As a Taiwanese foodie, here are my little thoughts. The noodles in the beef noodle soup were too soft and mushy, and the broth lacked depth of flavor. The beef itself was nicely cooked and tender. The popcorn chicken was crispy, but I wish the chicken had used more five-spice powder when marinating it. The spicy wontons were tasty. Overall, the food was good, but the noodles and broth could use a bit more work.“

“Have ordered take-out many times and had several of the menu items. Food tastes great. Can ask for mild when ordering the dishes labeled spicy and they come mild - the kitchen staff does what you ask. When they are busy, the counter staff start to move fast and can be a bit curt. I don't take offense. They are busy because the food is excellent. As for atmosphere, the decor could use a little sprucing-up.“

“We stopped here on a Wednesday before a show at the arena. We were packed in like sardines, with nowhere left to sit and the kitchen had run out of food. And yet the place still felt chill and welcoming. The bartender/owner was attentive and super friendly, despite the absolute chaos that must have been happening behind the bar. Any employees we saw were friendly and informal. Exactly what you want from a dive in Albany.

When we found other establishments on New Scotland Ave closing their dining rooms by 9pm on a Saturday night, SakeCafe was graciously open, serving delicious food (we tried a little of everything from sushi to Udon) and with the best tableside service I've experienced in literally years. Unbeatable cocktails made by real mixologist's and a rad atmosphere! They have events and live music scheduled regularly and more people need to check this place out. I'm pretty sure the pizza is smuggled in through a prohibition era brick tunnel that connects DeFazio's to Albany Distilling. Go get some tasty pizza a few cocktails and support a unique local business.

“Had a late lunch/early dinner yesterday. I ordered the “Langosta El Mariachi”. OMG!!! It was beyond delicious! The lobster tails were stuffed with shrimp and scallops with a creamy white sauce and cheese... the green beans seasoned perfectly with fresh garlic, the rice was cooked to perfection. The meal was perfectly plated and resembled a piece of art. I enjoyed every morsel. The lobster,shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant has a wonderful and warm ambiance and it is very clean. I highly recommend everyone to experience their own dining experience here. You won’t be disappointed.
