“Needed to get some protien in and was in the area . A local police offericer told us to stop by . Half rack of ribs and half chicken with cauliflower and the potatoes was exactly what I needed didn’t even know this place existed so it was a surprise to us to know there was a good barbecue spot out here will be back if I’m in the area and will definitely recommend some of my family and friends to go. Also the people that work here very friendly.“
“This place is ran by my 4 uncles! Best food for a rotisserie, since they are of Mexican descent, on holidays and sometimes on rare occasions my aunts will cook AUTHENTIC Mexican food next to the regular menu and also serve it to customers! If you're in Southold, Long Island be sure to give the Rotisserie Smokehouse a try!Parking: Plenty of parking at anytime!“
“Hamburger and Texas style brisket were very delicious. Especially the brisket was very good. Chicken wings and cornbread weren't very good. The kale salad was very, very small for its price. In general, the prices are a little high and there are no sides with the meat. Service is a little slow as there are very few people working. The environment is decent and clean.“
“Commander Cody’s Fish Market is a mainstay on Shelter Island. Owners Jimmy Hayward and his daughter Amanda, serve the best fried chicken and assortment of smoked fish that people come from far and wide to enjoy. Recently I stopped in and got containers of prepared food from their fridge: potato salad cole slaw, ribs (to warm up at home) and smoked bluefish, and it was absolutely delicious. The smoked ribs are to die for, by the way. With family-run restaurants with a personal touch becoming such a rarity in this area, we are fortunate to have Commander Cody’s here on our little island. During peak times in the summer, the parking can get a little tight so parking on the street is a good idea. Following a Hamptons magazine review, Commander Cody’s got “discovered” and during the summer it is often best to order hot food in advance. As is often the case for the best, there might be a wait, but the outcome is worth it.“
