“We are extremely happy we chose this venue for our son's and daughter-in-law's Rehearsal Dinner (50 people) and Welcome Drinks (70 people) the night before their wedding. Kathleen, the proprietor, was a pleasure to deal with and was helpful with the planning. The staff was accommodating and delightful; everyone said their food was delicious and enjoyed the festive atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant for casual dining and special events!”

“This place was a huge surprise to discover in Slate Hill! I had no idea it was even here until one day desperately searching for somewhere with some decent Chinese or Japanese food in the area after growing disappointment with some old "favorites" in the Sussex area, and Middletown. While it might look dodgy from the outside and there's no indoor service (just a pick up window), the food is legit good. Generous amounts of meat in the Chinese dishes (especially like the pork with black bean sauce), well cooked (vegetables still with some "bite" and shrimp tender, not overcooked and rubbery). Only tried one or two sushi rolls so far and they were fine if not exceptional, too. Can get a lot of food for the price, and I like their online ordering system as well. Hong Fu has now become a regular stop for me when visiting family in the area.”

“We have eaten here many times and love it so much! The ingredients are super fresh, the flavors and combinations are expertly put together, and the owner is a true showman who clearly loves the food and sharing it with the community. The danish dog is my favorite, and my husband loves the Italian sausage with onions. Even the basic chili dog is better than average, and his inventive sauces add so much flavor to the dogs that they can’t be replicated anywhere else. The building is small and it’s crowded and dingy and sometimes smoky inside, but we truly feel that it adds to the charm and makes the experience even more unique. Just go - you’ll be so glad you did!”

“Last night, for my birthday, we had what I have to call a perfect, and perfectly delicious meal. You can’t take a picture of an experience, but if there were a way, we would have tried. My fettuccine Bolognese was a detailed joy, yielding a world of varied delights in every bite. Even the radicchio and endive salad… one of those textured, flavorful events where you close your eyes and savor every each mouthful. I could go on and on… but I’m still busy savoring. Gorgeous setting, roomy comfort, delightful servers and employees… and the bank does not break. You’d pay 100 or 150% more in the city to even come close.”

“I went to outbacks for the steak special on 3/23 that I seen on TV for $14 baked potatoes salad or soup & cheese cake the server said not here its 19$ then also I didn't know the restaurant offered a senior discount I just saw it on my phone to give my review why is the special only in certain cutbacks? That's mis-¹ representation the proce should be the same in all Outback Restaurants im 80 years old and I should of been aware in the restaurant of a senior discount by the way I enjoyed the dinner”

“Seriously such an amazing place to go! The quality of the fish is super fresh, service is amazing, and I do not feel parent shamed bringing my toddler in there. Usually get stared at when I’m out to eat with my family if my son throws his sippy cup. They are super nice and we have always felt welcomed”

“Barrel 28 is a wonderful place to have an event in their private room. We recently had our daughters bridal shower there. Everyone raved about the food, which was wonderful. “Amazing Indian food full of flavor, generously portioned, and with beautiful presentation. The price is right! Service is great as well, but didn't get a 5 due to the ordering process. Been here 3 times and every time the guy behind the bar was the only one taking orders, which can cause delays, especially if it's busy.”
