“Many Chinese take out places have declined in the Danbury/Brewster area, but Moon Star has remained consistent in turning out great food!
Whenever I call, the nice woman who answers is friendly, calls me by name, and demonstrates her appreciation for my business.
Yesterday afternoon, 2/13/25, I placed a big order: Wonton soup, pork fried rice, bbq spare ribs, steamed dumplings sesame chicken, and chicken with broccoli. Everything was delicious, cooked freshly, and portions were generous. Some places cut corners by giving less chicken, but Moon Star puts plenty of chicken in the meals.
I was allowed to take a 2-liter bottle of soda for free, and to our surprise, there was a HUGE portion of freshly-made fried dough (my wife's favorite!)
If you are looking for a good place to order Chinese take out, Moon Star is it!“

“This place is both amazing and delicious! We had a variety of dishes liek Szechuan dumplings, curry noodles, shrimp tempura, soup, crunchy spicy sushi, etc. ALL WERE AMAZING!! Service was really good and very homey atmosphere with high quality ingredients and served with a smile. Loved it!! 5 STARS!!“

“This is by far the best Chinese takeout you will find in probably the whole New York. That includes the city. I've had so much Chinese food across NYC and a lot of them sadly fell off. Peking Garden in Brewster has held their ground for many years. The consistency of their food, and the pride they take in ownership is why they are #1. They offer menu items that you cant get anywhere else in the whole county, and the flavor is always the best. They serve the freshest vegetables and use the best ingredients to make their dishes really stand out. When I get Peking Garden I have to literally force myself to stop because it's so good that even when I'm full I just want another bite, and another bite lol.“

“Ordered togo, but ate while waiting for my ride. The food was fresh and delicious. Lots of flavor and not too greasy. Got chicken and brocolli in brown sauce, and it was generously coated.
The people were very nice and happy to make accommodations. The place is has tables to sit and eat. Their little decorations are cute.
From a supporter of small business, please give them a try :)

“Have not been here or ordered a LONG time but got take out delivered Saturday. Very happy with 90% of my order. Hot & Sour soup plus Genreal TSO chicken was excellent. Spring rolls & LoMein were great too. Did not care for the Crab ragoon - made in a different way. All arrived quick & hot. I will order again.“

“I ordered the pork fried rice and boneless pork ribs and they were both very good, only waited about 10 minutes for them to make my order, the service was great and polite, place was very clean with a couple of tables for anyone who wanted to eat in.“

“I'm really picky about Chinese food. These guys are hands down the best in the area. I've tried other local restaurants and been throughly disappointed. I've always been pleased with what they serve and their service. Shout out to their dumplings in particular, not too doughy, not too greasy.. Just perfect!“

“Surprisingly good considering the mixed reviews. We've had an excellent lunch special, dinner and take out. Going back tonight - too hot to cook. Reminds me of NYC Szechuan in the 70's, when the food had unique flavor and each dish was different.“

“This is my go-to takeout place in Danbury. Everythihg I’ve tried I’ve really enjoyed especially the chicken and broccoli, tofu dishes and lo mein. The hot and sour soup is also excellent in my opinion. For a late evening meal or something quick on the go. This is the spot.“

“I LOVE the fact that this is in Katonah! People should rally around this place & support these folks. The food is good & they work hard. The food is always exactly what I want when I want to eat Chinese food. It can be warm in there, but it's summer.

Leaving a positive review after a mishap of an Uber driver who delivered the wrong order. After communications with the restaurant our food was brought right away with no issue.
I recommend the broccoli with garlic sauce.“

“I visited this location for the first time to try out their food. I ordered a small vegetable fried rice and it was quite tasty. The gentleman who prepared the food and took my payment was very nice and appreciative of my business. I will definitely be back to try some other dishes.“
