“I was craving fried fish tonight . I just had to have it. Im scrolling through Yelp trying to find a place to eat fish and then I scrolled upon her. Maxine's On The Boulevard. I was driving and looking for this place. It wasn't lite up, sign was dark, but I caught the name Maxine and I said that's it, made a u turn, and parked around the corner. I thought to myself this is a hole in the wall. People where coming in and out of this place. I called a head of time and asked if they had catfish and whiting and she said yes. Baby, let me tell you I ordered my food and that was one of the best fish and chicken I had in queens so far. This is going to be my soul food spot from now and I hope they stay consistent. This place is a must try.“

“Well haven’t seen Tito in over 40 yrs but he always worked cooking fish ever since the good old days at Patsy in Harlem… but his store didn’t disappoint still that fresh fish fried to perfection…. It was good to see him taste Real Fish n Chips…. God Bless you and now that I’ve found you you will see me on the regular 🦾💯🦾“

“I was visiting Brooklyn and needed food, I looked up fish on yelp. It was like ennie mennie minnie moe. I chose Soul of the Sea after I viewed the menu. I called first to see if they are open because a lot of businesses closed due to COVID-19. Someone answered immediately and did in fact confirm that they were open. I informed them that I was coming but. When I arrived I announced that I called and placed my order. The person that took my order was very kind, friendly, and courteous. His customer service was fantastic. I ordered the fish sandwich and asked what kind of fish was on the sandwich, he directed me to the menu and said, whiting, do you see it under section of fish sandwich. I did conquer. He told me the price and asked if that price was fine. I said yes and then ordered a carrot cake. His attitude compelled me to buy something as I was eager to support a mom and pop style restaurant. I told the person taking my order that I was passing through and needed to eat. He thanked me for stopping in. The interaction was wonderfully pleasant, the store clean and the staff was attentive. The person that came to the front of the business to sweep, greeted me and thanked me for stopping in. This is an A class, 5 star service restaurant when it comes to serving the customer. Enough about the interaction and now the food. The sandwich was proportioned with a decent amount that was not too filling. I'm used to pieces of fish that were too long for the bread. I am also very pleased that they gave me wheat bread instead of white. The carrot cake was surprisingly not too sweet as I didn't want nothing sweet sweet. Bravo guy's“

“A coupler days ago, experienced ‘Simply Fried’, so I ordered the Fried Whiting w/cole slaw and Coco Bread. He had Fried Fish w/ Shrimp…. delicious, sufficient portion, and the owner/cook has a very friendly demeanor. Happy to see a determined young entrepreneur. Continued Blessings from QB…T and S🙏🏿“

“I ordered my food over the phone they told me 20 minutes, I waited an additional 15 upon arrival. Nevertheless, the price was very affordable and pretty tasty. I got fish and fries, I used my own tarter sauce my; the seasoning on the fish was there (although the batter came apart very easily from thr fish). The food was good, service ehh.“

“foods really good I wouldn't recommend getting anything fried as I know from experience there's usually more breading then there is seafood on the fried items. with that being said go in and indulge on several of the steamed items lastly don't forget to get the yellow rice with it last time I went they were charging an extra 2 dollars for the rice the price could of gone up a bit.“

“One of my favorite local little hole in the wall spots. Often come here to get a quick bite like the Whiting Fish Sandwich. There a plenty of seafood options and plenty of options to make at home or take with you. Area is a little shaky but hey… that's Hempstead.“

“Oh i love this place, usually easy parking, clean, fast, great fresh tasting food! Prices are very affordable, stuff for adults and kids. Social distancing and hand sanitizer is definitely a plus. I would call ahead n order to avoid standing around. Nice, friendly, respectful, and helpful staff. I've seen people come from near and far to this place! I highly recommend!“

“The fish is fresh and good. They have a large variety of all kinds of seafood.The problem is: the portions are too small. They are very cheap with the veggies and yellow rice on steam orders.I will speak to the owners to change this, since the food alone would get 5 stars!“

“Rochdale chicken and fish, their food is always delicious, cooked fresh, seasoned to perfection. Customer Service is always exceptional. Food portions are large, prices are great for the amount of food you are getting. One plate lasts 2 days. They are my go to for delicious soul food. You have to try them, you will definitely be coming back. It is a take out spot.“
