“Serious flavor. You gotta make plans to come here my love. I had the Mercato. The collard greens? Savoryyy! The red lentils? Spiced to a sophisticated perfection! Don’t get me started on the zesty freshness of this injira. I didn’t know it would be this good but I’m so glad it was, I can’t believe I haven’t been here before; but TRUST and believe- I will be back with a vengeful hunger to try more menu selections.“

“Great food! A little cleaner and pricier joint than other Ethiopian restaurants in NYC. Less greasy and more nuanced main, sides are great, the cabbage stood out to us more than the rest. Sides are a little lean - first time finishing the whole portion at an Ethiopian place for me - but still plenty for a good meal.“

“Our group had someone who ate Ethiopian food regularly and someone who had never eaten it, and we all agreed that this was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. There is a great vegetarian section and the injera is incredible. If you’re in a group I highly recommend ordering all entrees together, on a big plate. It’s not only beautiful to see everything together, but everyone also ends up getting to try way more food this way. Just note that each person must order their own entree.“

“Love the ethiopean foods here. I had the lamb Awaze Tibs which were a real delight with tender meat and really a discover in spices and the way they tender the meat. I tried both the mint tea and the Ethiopean beer and really enjoyef it.
EẸnoyed the traditional music and my chat with Alab (not sure if it’s her correct name) with a beautiful traditional braid.“

“Amazing food; I have been to many Ethiopian restaurants all across New York and none of them can compare to Lalibela. The restaurant is very clean and the service was amazing. The owner, who was very friendly came up to me and the other customers and would check in on us and make sure everything was perfect. 10/10 will definitely be back👍👍“

“The food was phenomenal, we had the timatim as an appetizer followed by the meat and vegetarian combos. Every bite was packed with so much flavor! The service was great, the atmosphere cozy, and the music was so good; I definitely have some new music to explore. Highly recommend this place :)“

“Awash is always a good time! The food is amazing and the combos are always worth it! Make sure to get the Ethiopian Lager, and wash your hands before you eat! They also have a shrimp option which is unusual for an Ethiopian spot. They were out of a few things but the beets, perils and lamb were the highlights.
If you get the combo, I would just stay away from the chicken or ask to sub it, it wasn’t very good and was clearly geared toward a more sensitive palate.
I am a frequent flyer at their Harlem location.“
