“Stumbled upon this Mediterranean gem while driving to a nearby Staples and decided to come back the same evening to try it out—and wow, it did *not* disappoint. They offer a $45 shared menu that’s absolutely worth it. Every single dish was beautifully presented, with rich flavors and generous portions. The food came out fast, but nothing felt rushed—the service was excellent and attentive from start to finish. The ambience is warm and stylish, perfect for a casual dinner or a special night out. This place is a high-end hidden gem in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back!“

“Absolutely delightful very cool vibe with out being pretentious cozy and hip.You can tell the owner (who is the chef) puts a lot of thought and love into the menu. Seasonal clean and simple yet very tasty dishes. If you are lucky enough to visit while her husband is working the floor he is a true front of house person; funny fabulous bartender and excellent taste in music. I found the prices very reasonable. For anyone who complains about the prices have you purchased food from a market lately!? Looking forward to returning next time I am in the neighborhood.“

“The restaurant prepares traditional kebab varieties using high quality meat and cooks them with care. Kebabs perfectly reflect both the flavor of the meat and the harmony of spices. The freshness of the meat and the cooking method ensure that the kebabs are tender and delicious.
Lahmacun is also one of Sophra Mediterranean Grill's favorite flavors. With its thin dough and delicious filling, lahmacun is prepared by adhering to traditional recipes. The stuffing is enriched with spices and fresh ingredients, which enhances the taste of lahmacun.
Overall, Sophra Mediterranean Grill offers traditional dishes such as kebab and lahmacun with a modern twist, while also offering a warm and friendly atmosphere, providing its guests with a delicious dining experience.“

“When it comes to plant-based dining, finding a truly memorable meal can be like searching for a rare gem. But let me tell you, Kotti Berliner Doner Kebab has managed to deliver an experience that I won’t soon forget.
Let’s start with the vegan wrap—though, to be honest, it felt more like a perfectly constructed sandwich. This birthday gift from a thoughtful friend had me stepping out of my usual no-tofu zone. And wow, what an exception it turned out to be. The tofu wasn’t just there for the ride; it was marinated to perfection, blending seamlessly with the veggie mix.
Now, let’s talk bread. A crisp sesame riddled exterior gave way to a soft, pillowy bite, striking that elusive balance between texture and flavor. Each topping brought its A-game, adding layers of crunch, tang, and brightness that danced in harmony with every bite.
And then there was the special vegan sauce—the kind of condiment that elevates a meal from good to unforgettable. It was creamy, tangy, and herbaceous, tying everything together like a symphony of flavor.
The experience was made even better by the cook. Their patience, friendliness, and genuine care shone through in every element of the meal. It wasn’t just food; it was a crafted experience that left me eager to return.
Kotti Berliner Doner Kebab isn’t just serving vegan food—they’re setting the standard for how satisfying, flavorful, and downright exciting plant-based dining can be. If you’re even remotely curious about vegan fare, or just crave a culinary adventure, this is the place to go. Trust me, one bite and you’ll be planning your next visit.

“Good service, friendly staff.
Food was mostly good. The spicy dip (acili ezme) was excellent. Sis-kebap and calamari were also good.
The liver (ciger tava) wasn't great. The cheese pide had tomatoes and sesame seeds, which I didn't expect. It should be a classic cheese pide unless they ask. The rice pudding wasn't very good either.
The place was okay, nothing special.
I'd go back for the good service and the spicy dip. Just ask about the pide before ordering.
Parking: Parking wasn't too bad for Brooklyn. I found a spot two blocks away.“

“My first time going was last Friday right as they opened and I must say for my first time eating a Turkish dish, I was blown away. The service was on point and efficient as well as the plating of the food. I was in love with the portions too and even the bread was just so savory. I can say I have not one complaint about this place and highly recommend it to everyone.🥰“

“Delicious, flavorful, healthy food, wine (and tea!) Excellent atmosphere. Very friendly and efficient service. I have been a client of SipSak for many years, and have brought my family and friends. So happy to have this great Turkish restaurant in our neighborhood. I had Ali Nazik today, which is ground beef, tomatoes, peppers over a smoked eggplant puree and yogurt. A glass of Malbec. And the delicious Turkish tea (which is served in a really cute cup!) The bread and olives are also very yummy! I would certainly recommend!“

“The food was incredible. The service, top notch. Depending on what you get, and how much you eat, you can share a meal. The portions are decent for the price. Would definitely go back if I'm here again. The ambiance was perfect and really pretty but not over done.“

“This cozy diner has become our weekend favorite for reliable, no-fuss breakfasts. Their pancakes are consistently fluffy, the bacon is always crispy, and the coffee is fresh and bottomless - exactly what I want from a morning meal.
Service is friendly and efficient, even when they're busy. I particularly appreciate that they're happy to customize orders (my kid always swaps hash browns for fruit). Prices are fair for the generous portions.
It's not fancy, but that's the charm, just solid breakfast classics done well in a comfortable atmosphere. Gets crowded around 9am on weekends, but we've never waited more than 15 minutes.“

“Hands down the best Turkish food in NYC. The owner-operator, Mike, is always on-site, adding a personal touch that makes the experience feel both welcoming and elevated. The food is clean, healthy, and notably free of seed oils — a rare and refreshing standard. The chicken chops are excellent, the chicken shish is top-tier, and the mezze selection is absolutely fantastic. Every dish reflects real care and quality.“

“recently had the pleasure of dining at Istanbul Bey and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. I tried both the lamb döner kebab wrap and the platter, and I was blown away by the quality and taste. The lamb was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the portions were generous. The prices are very affordable, especially considering the quality of the food.
What really stood out to me was how clean the restaurant is—it’s spotless, which is impressive by New York standards. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for delicious food at a great price in a clean and comfortable setting, I highly recommend giving this place a try. I’ll definitely be back!“

“Great place to eat Turkish food. Service is excellent & atmosphere is very nice: casual & friendly. Lots of tapas to choose from. Lamb dish is tender & baklava is superb. There’s live entertainment on the weekends. Sometimes one of the guests will be playing a clarinet or a guitar while eating. Lol. Lots of local Turkish people eat in this place. They started as a tiny restaurant & they have expanded to the one next door.“

“This quaint tiny restaurant has authentic burek. The server was honest about the time it would take to deliver the food we wanted to order and therefore we were able to change our order to accommodate our schedule. We experienced a very clean environment nice atmosphere (although florescent light are a vibe kill) and delicious food. Not fancy but wholesome. Thanks for a healthy portion!“

“So this hidden gem is AMAZING! I went with my family and I will never forget the hospitality. I had salmon and omg it was crispy on the outside and soft inside. It was the freshest salmon I tasted and was on a bed of rice so healthy and still tasty! I tasted a Turkish soda and it was fruity and the best combination of sweet and tangy The salmon SKIN was amazingly crispy! Yes the skin. This Turkish/Mediterranean place is a place I will forever go to and overlooked. The atmosphere of the place felt like me at home so laidback!“

“Amazing experience at this Turkish restaurant! The staff were warm and welcoming, and very active. and the food was full of rich, authentic flavors. Our order was a bit delayed, but they kindly served us FREE plate of Baba Ganoush and Hummus and fresh bread while we waited and even gave us complimentary TEA afterward. One of the best parts? They offer all sauces in big bottles and trust me, that’s rare these days! 😁 Definitely worth visiting again.“

We ordered gyros, salad, feta, and French fries and everything was so good. The meat was so so tender and juicy, matching The Eater articles description that actually sent us here. “Walking around 86th street with my adult daughter looking for a place to eat. This one stuck out.
Went in and asked lots of questions. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Ordered and sat down at a table. It wasn't crowded. It was quiet, just right for the conversation we needed to have.
The food was delicious and there were large portions. It reminded me of old Brooklyn. A family owned restaurant, with the staff proud of every meal they serve.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.“

“i was passing by the area and looking for a quick filling lunch, very pleasantly surprised by how yummy their chicken doner sandwich was. You MUSTT get their homemade bread, it’s so soft yet a little toasted on the outside. The cabbage and pickles were so refreshing, a nice balance to the savory chicken. It was also GIGANTIC. You will not leave hungry for sure. There is a modest seating area in there as well, in case you need to rest a little before continuing going wherever.“

“Stopped in tonight, not very crowded which was great and the food was served super quickly. Loved every bite!
The highlight of the night was Lourdes the cashier/ attendant. She was so friendly and welcoming and attentive. She was able to recommend things on the menu and elaborate on the options.
While I was eating she kept checking in on me and my guest and walking around cleaning surfaces and tidying up the space. Amazing customer service from her. Would absolutely recommend this place and I hope anyone that stops in gets to meet Lourdes.“
