Experience Syosset's Mexican food at these fantastic spots.
“My Fiancé l live in Huntington Beach about 15 minutes away from Owen’s Tacos. We decided to try this place and as soon as we arrived we were greeted by the person behind the counter who was very attentive, probably the owner. Any ways, with so many things to chose from we decided to try the steak nachos and hamburger with fries. Let me say that we were very impressed with the service and quality of food. The nachos had good size pierces of steak and the whole plate was delicious. The hamburger you could tell was seasoned inside and it tasted amazing, you will not be disappointed if you like Latin American style hamburgers. We also had the Horchata drink which is a typical Central American grain based sweet water drink. Amazing!“
“I just want to say thank you to this chipotle for helping me in such a big way! I work for Girls Inc. A girls empowerment program. We were in the area for a field trip and we weren’t prepared for lunch. Stuck on a time constraint, I asked the manger at 11:10/15 if he could make 30 burritos before 12PM. he said he could and began to bring together his team on the food line while still maintaining great service with the oncoming customers. He and his team were EXTREMELY ACCOMMODATING and helped me bring the food to my girls at the field trip location. Very shorty after I realized that we needed to stay at the restaurant to eat the food. I then brought 30 MIDDLE school girls to the facility and packed the place out ? the team helped me in SUCH A BIG WAY. I am VERY VERY GRATEFUL. This team works very well together the manager was professional yet compassionate towards my situation! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU“
“Shared 4 assorted tacos (fish, lengua, birria & carnitas) with my wife for snack, craved for more. I don’t usually get Lengua (tongue) because of funky after taste from previous experience. At Mala Madre, lengua was so tender, butter and beefy. Will definitely come back for more.“
“Been here a couple of times, and each time the food and the service has been amazing! Has definitely become one of my favourite spots for Mexican food in all of Long Island. I can’t wait to keep trying different items on the menu until I’ve tried everything they have to offer. This place is great in every aspect, and worth every penny! The photos are from the last time I went with my boyfriend, we got the birria tacos and el burrito chingon. Portion sizes were perfect!“
“I was very skeptical of this place at first, but it was amazing. So the concept is Italian-Mexican food. It works. And it works very well.We ordered 3 tacos as well as the surf and turf quesadilla. I was absolutely blown away by the taste and quality of everything. The quesadilla was one of the best I've had in a long time. The steak was juicy, the shrimp wasn't chewy, and the flavors were amazing. For tacos, we got the ital-Americano, chicken parm, and maialino. Every one was tasty in its own way. The Ital-Americano was super juicy, the chicken parm was just delicious chicken parm in a shell, and the mialino was juicy with just the right amount of spice.I need to remember next time to sign up for the rewards program since I know I'll be back there a lot.Parking: Parking all over.“
“This is surprisingly good BBQ for long Island! The service is excellent: really friendly and everyone seemed proud of their food -- I love seeing that. The is good (not amazing), but if you're nearby, definitely stop in. The smoked porchetta is incredibly tender and unique.“
“This place is sooooooooo goooood! The food is extremely delicious ? perfect portions and the sauce is delectable! We love the tortas here! They come so quick and are very fairly priced. The agua de jamaica here makes me crave another cup. My new weekend favorite!“
“Delicious food! This is my fourth time going to the restaurant, I’ve always been greeted with a friendly smile and a hello.I ordered tacos al pastor, and i was amazed to see that they make the tortillas fresh in-house & not store bought ☺️I also had a torta al pastor and it was delicious and fresh. Over this beats any other taco place on long island, so much closer than queens when your craving some tacos and torta :)“
“Went there for the first time yesterday for my lunch. SO GOOD! The Mongolian beef tacos are UHHMAZINGGG. Loved the carne taco. The Thai chicken taco was okay but it just wasn’t my favorite. Their pineapple salsa is SLAMMINNNN. I also got a chicken taco that was good too. I will definitely be going back soon :)))“
“Excellent Mexican food at a very good price. The place is not fancy, but if you want authentic Mexican food at a great price, this is the place for you. We ordered 4 tacos, the mixed grill entree, 2 sides, and a natural juice. Everything was delicious even after being reheated the next day. The service was prompt and attentive. We will definitely be returning.“
“That girl with glasses and smart hair is really rude when serving, whether or not she is part of the owners, whatever, she should not be rude when serving people, she has a bitter face and that's the same with her service, you ask about some lemons and looks at you as if you are asking him to go take them down from the tree... such a service is in bad taste when one tries to eat in peace“
“I am truly so impressed with our experience tonight!!! The food was great and fresh, portions were huge, prices were reasonable and our delivery was quick. My toddler loved it too! Thank you SO much. It was our first time and we will definitely be ordering “
“Amazing restaurant whether it's with friends or family! One of my best friends from college raved about this restaurant and it's easily a hidden gem! You wouldn't normally expect to have a Greek-Mexican fusion restaurant but this one is amazing! I highly recommend getting their stuffed poblano peppers (stuffed with Cauliflower as I'm vegetarian) - 11/10! They even have mocktails and I recommend the mango mule - which I absolutely loved! Will definitely be back here, but given today was Saturday, the restaurant was busy so you couldn't hear the conversation, but food and service are top notch! Also...Food Network...get here ASAP!“
“Top Mexican restaurant of all time. We don’t get tired of the place nor the food. Top notch! The manager Cesar is incredibly welcome, so attentive, and keeps the place organized. Adan also greets you with a smile and always makes sure you are well taken care of. Paola and Darwin at the bar makes you have an amazing experience with any drink and their customer service is just top. Overall, we love this place and always recommend it to family and friends.“
“My gf and I were on the hunt for some good authentic Mexican tacos. We stumbled upon this place on a whim doing a quick google search and the reviews were very good. So we decided to stop in for dinner and we quickly realized why! Everything was on point from the customer service, to the food/food quality and the portions. We will return…“
“We were a bit skeptical at first since it appeared to be more of a commercial side and we usually prefer authentic Mexican cuisine. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the food was not only delicious, but also authentic and well-portioned, all at a reasonable price.“
“Went there for dinner tonight, it's small cozy restaurant, only few tables. Menu is very nice and easy to order. We ordered grilled chicken cruchwrap and vegetables burrito and wings. All were good except wings, ot should be more better.Service is good, nice mexican ambiance.Parking is not a problem. You can order take out also. They have food challenge also, if you win, you will get free food, t shirt e5c.“
“Al pastor taco, side a guacamole and chips. Are always a must!! The burritos are so Bomb. Best taco/burritos in the area. They also have fresh juices they make daily. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Haven’t tried the carne asada that they recommended but I will be back.“
“It doesn't look like much from the outside but this place is very good. My wife and I live down the street and we come here at least once a week. We try to make it down for taco Tuesdays they have $3 Tacos and they are delicious. My favorite is the Al Pastor, and maybe the chorizo at a close second, but they are all super tasty. I also love their home made Sopes tortillas and the quesadillas. In addition to the delicious food the owners are so nice so it makes you want to keep coming back. Get the jalapeño margarita if you can handle the heat. You won't be disappointed.“
“Stopped in here with my wife today. It was 3:30 on Friday, we were the only ones in there, as we expected at that time. It was nice to see a family run restaurant. The owner was the chef, his wife and daughter the servers. Food was really good. We started with the guacamole and we ordered the mussels. The chef came out and said the mussels came in a little small today and asked if we would like the clams instead. We said why not. The broth in this clam dish was fantastic. Then he came back out and asked if we want to try his carrot soup. One of the best soups I've literally ever had. Then we finished with steak fajitas and the flautas. Both great dishes. They were really friendly and nice people. We really appreciated their service and kindness. Also don't forget to get the red sangria it's amazing.“
“I ate green chilaquiles with cecina and the truth, delicious! The compa Miguel is very friendly, the waitress is very attentive. Thank you for your service, the food and the attention have no complaints!A good place to fill your belly!Blessings Michael!!“
“This place is nice, well lit and clean, the service is very good, friendly and attentive staff, followed by some great food, had an awesome time, they finally got their liquor license, have mixed feelings about that, it was nice to bring your own drinks and enjoy them with your meal, but they do make some good margaritas“
“I was here once before. I ordered The Carney asada taco,w/ onion's Cambray and nopal Onions are chopped very fine Tasted like I was eating a Spanish pork chop. This is the best little gem. Hidden in the back. Amelia the owner is very sweet. The bottles on the table The green sauce was a little watered down but OK the other 2 bottles meh. I decided to get two. $6.00 .“
“we ordered takeout and were so impressed by the food. we typed out a lot of modifications and they were all correctly applied, and everything was absolutely delicious. highly recommend the quesadillas and burritos! will definitely come again.“
“Ordered from here and the nacho bowl was amazing! Everything was really fresh and the ground beef had great flavor. I ordered pick up and it was ready in less than ten min. They also give discounts for Uber eats pickup and in person orders! Definitely going back.!“
“The food wasn't too bad. They were a little stingy with the servings. You would have to ask for me. What I really disliked was I love a lot of sour cream. I asked for more and the bottle was out. Instead of the server getting a new bottle she just asked me was that at? Like did I need anything else? I said yes more sour cream please but she just put my lid on and covered and bagged my food. When I came to the counter the first server didn't even greet me. I disliked that because I am big on customer service. He just starred at me. I had to say hello may I have a bowl please? Other than these things I wouldn't mind trying them again. The food was fresh and hot and the restaurant was very clean including the restroom. I also loved the freestyle soda machine with a pineapple flavor option. The pineapple Hi-C and pineapple sprite were delicious! I wouldn't mind giving this place a 2nd try.“
“We stopped here after taking a course nearby. We're not from the area but we were craving some good Mexican food. This place satisfied that craving more than we could have anticipated. It lacks the distracting bells and whistles that most inauthentic lackluster Mexican joints on Long Island tend to have. The focus here is on the food and the passion behind it comes through in each bite. It's tucked away in the corner of a little shopping mall but dont let its lack of street presence keep you from giving it a shot. The horchata was spot on! Will be stopping here the next time we are in the area for sure.“
“"Attending the real estate mixer at MESITA Restaurant in Garden City, hosted by Contour Mortgage, was an absolute delight. The venue not only provided the perfect backdrop for networking and engaging conversations but also impressed with its selection of great finger food and good drinks, catering to all tastes.A special shout-out to Charlie and Briget for making the evening truly memorable. The combination of MESITA's vibrant atmosphere, exceptional service, and culinary delights, along with the warm hospitality, made for an unforgettable experience.Highly recommend for those looking to enjoy a lively setting with delicious food and beverages!"“
“The food was delicious. Homemade corn tortillas, homemade salsa, carnitas street tacos, and fried Yucca were authentic and delicious. The owner Lourdes was very nice and took time to serve us. Would definitely come again for authentic Mexican food.“
“This place has been here forever. It has very good food made by a great guy that works hard. The food is made fresh each time, so the taste is excellent. The atmosphere is more like his family home, very welcoming with his kids sometimes hanging out. There could be room issues for larger groups. Better for take-“
“Spent the most amazing evening with friends - spontaneous get together!!Our friends suggested the time and my husband picked the venue - Besito Mexican! The ambiance is cosy - some might find it a little dark and music tad on the higher side - but it did not bother me as such.To begin with we had the chips and Guacamole - we requested them to make it a little on the spicier side. The different mocktails that we order were delicious and spot on!Now for the main course - I had the Shrimp Jalisco - this dish was very well presented and TASTY.. a little on the sweeter side, but Tasty! The rest of the dishes on the table were El Dorado, Chicken and Veg Tacos - everyone enjoyed their food but I think the Shrimp Jalisco stood out !!Let's talk about Desserts now - we ordered the Chocolate Pudding, Tres leches and the Churros - which we polished off during an hour long conversation - it was almost closing time - it was an amazing evening, time just flew by with delicious food, wonderful company in a beautiful place!!Thank you Lord!“
“This is my place for the best food. I love the burritos, everything is made excellent and the people are really nice too! Fresh salsas I can't get enough of, just delicious. Definitely the best place aroundParking: The lot can fill up quickly if other stores have events. (coffee shop has music sometimes)“
“This is not a bad place to eat. I ordered the bowl with all the fixings and a chocolate chip cookie for dessert, it's good. My family prefers Chipotle though, they like the taste of their food. I'm ok with this place, I like the ambience and seating area, and the servings of food are good.Vegetarian options: Guacamole, beans, lettuce, and corn.Kid-friendliness: Big open spaces, table side TV, chocolate chip cookies.“
“It's great that this company requires name tags. Angie was amazing. I don't need employees to smile but I know most customers do and she did the whole time and her speed should be commended. So much faster than the local Taco Bell and they are actually selling real “
“Small hidden gem place, definitely worth it, not like the big overpriced mexican restaurants around this area, many times in this place and always on point, the owner usually plays the guitar and entertain the guests, if you want a nice ambience, good food, top notch service and affordable this is it, Fridays and Saturdays you may have to wait a little while for a table, you won't be disappointed. Recommend it, the frozen margaritas are the best!“
“Delish food, margaritas were delish too!!Steaks and shrimp ceviche was also very good . We also had creme brûlée for dessert ,amazing. We also loved the band that was playing. We will be back. Highly recommended!! we had a great experience!!!“
“Quality service, delicious variety of tacos. Authentic tortillas were a plus. Forgot to ask if they were made in house. We tried buffalo cauliflower, barbacoa, pastor, carnitas, carne asada (truffle sauce was delicious), tuna (wasn't crazy they were served in lettuce, no thanks, I'm here for tacos!), and shrimp. Great option to get 8 for $50 to try a variety. A little pricey to not even include some beans or rice but yummy. Desserts were tasty having churros and flan. We really wanted to try the spicy chocolate cake on the menu but we were told they discontinued it and they need to update their menu. Waiter was attentive. The staff was professional and kind. The water glasses stayed filled without having to ask. Decor was on point. So creative and attractive . Great logo design and the painted parking spots are so original! Music was great. Acoustics were really loud in the place and it was very hard to talk, had to shout at each other the whole time but if that loud busy vibe is what they're going for they nailed it. The owner treated our family very well and we appreciated it. Check them out. Can't wait to visit when the weather is nice and patio doors are open.“
“On a torrential rainy evening while the Best Buys parking lot in Westbury NY our car battery died -with my 93 year mother inside - as we waited (4 hours ) for AAA to come jump the car. The only bright light of the evening was Tacombi. Drenching wet, I was greeted by the most gracious and kind manager Alec who took such care and consideration of my mother and myself. We had delicious hot food and watemelon juice. Alec personally took extra care and interest in my elderly mother when she was having a most difficult night . I am so grateful -Thank you! thank you!“
“Really like this place. Food is always good and the price is very reasonable. With so many food options in this area. I feel Ike this is a go to place for MexicanParking: Not a big parking lot , but have not had a issue finding a spot before for lunch.“
“I love this place. The attention to detail is their speciality. The food is always very fresh, high quality, and extremely well seasoned. The prices are also great. Absolutely nothing to complain about.Come here!!!! Support local business!!!This place is severely under-rated!!!!“
“Went here during a lunch break with a good friend. First time for both of us. I got tacos and he got pupusas. Both were made right there and then, fresh. The service was awesome and quick! Place has parking available and easy to access. You want some good Spanish food, definitely check it out!Kid-friendliness: Kids can come and go, with no problemParking: Free parking available“
“Just picked up tacos de res, tacos al pastor, horchata, and revuelta pupusas - food was perfect! The most flavorful and juiciest al pastor taco my husband has ever had. The taco de res - I haven’t had joy like that since I was a kid from my tita’s taco truck. Thank you, volvemos comer allí otra vez con mas gusto que hoy ?“
“The Service is awesome, attentive, proffesional and very caring. More importantly the food is amazing. Their health juices and shakes are so tasty. I've definitely catered a few things from them for large group events and I'm yet to be disappointed.“
“The staff and owners are amazing! Definitely a great spot to pick up great tasting food. So far they haven't disappointed at all. Tried their birria, el pastor, chorizo and pulled pork tacos.. love them all. Will be going back for more to satisfy the cravings of delicious food.“
“Hubby and I like to experience new restaurants. We were in search of a new Mexican Restaurant-good drinks, good food, great atmosphere- this place had it all. From the background music to the chips and guacamole- the entrée was the cherry on top. The service was great! The food was delicious! We ordered the queso fundido for appetizers it was delicious! Very cheesy and just perfect the drinks- they were amazing! We had their cranberry margarita and regular margarita. It was a wonderful date night. And yes! I would definitely go back againParking: Parking is in the back of restaurant“
“Big suprises from new wave. Amazing service, knowledgeable easy to talk to they took time to speak with us instead of just rushing to move on to next Table. Great honest advise on food from the staff. The lobster Mac and cheese quesadilla is a must The burritos are huge but definitely delicious Overall there were no complaints defen“
“When I first walked into the restaurant I noticed how pretty it looked. I went on a Thursday and they had a live singer which was nice. I ordered the guacamole and they make it tableside. It was fabulous, very fresh. I ordered the Camarones En Salsa Verde O Roja which was very fresh and my son ordered Aroz con pollo which was also very fresh and tasty. I'd definitely say to try this place if you haven't been. I'm definitely going back.“
“We have been dining at Jalisco since we moved to Glen Cove 1 1/2 years ago.The food is delicious and is always served hot.The atmosphere is is so welcoming and upbeat. The waiters, waitresses and bus boys are friendly and always willing to answer questions.I must mention Oswaldo, who has waited on us many times and he is always polite, friendly and eager to help us decide what try.We bring friends here as well and they too love Jalisco!Wheelchair accessibility: My husband used a walker and Jalisco is easily accessible.“
“We were craving authentic tacos tonight and finally gave this place a shot and wow, this place did not disappoint. We ordered the birria tacos, steak/chick/shrimp and it was all very very good. These guys are in my backyard and my only regret is that I didn’t try their food earlier. I highly recommend them!“
“A unique restaurant offering Mexican and Italian cuisine. My partner and I started off with a delicious Greek salad and then both had fajitas. There was an abundance of the chicken and steak in the fajitas. They came out sizzling hot and were seasoned nicely and flavorful. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is not large and has a friendly and family atmosphere. Definitely check it out!!!“
