“I went for a tasting recently and had a great time! The owners were interacting with customers, the service was amazing and the environment was comfortable. The servers took time to explain about the wine and the view from the deck is amazing! The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend!“
“Wonderful staff and very knowledgeable. The chocolate and cheese pairings were perfect. Beautiful place and great atmosphere!“
“Easy to get around with an electric cart.“
“First winery we went to in the fingerlakes and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend! There is something for everyone!“
“Just an impromptu stop while working our way around some wineries between Seneca and Cayuga, but so glad we found this little gem. Not busy at all when we stopped but most likely because the Watkins Glen Wine fest was going on at the same time. Randy was super friendly and very informative and even gave us a short tour of the facility. Bruce(owner) was in and out and we got to hear the story of how the Sheperdess got its name. DO NOT miss this place if you like your dry reds!! My wife and I thought they were some of the best tasting and full bodied reds in the region. They had a couple whites that were excellent but not our choice. The selection was limited but I would rather see fewer wines with better quality any day. Make sure to put this on your visit list if you are into high quality reds and whites(they also had a white sangria that we did not try).“
“Many different types of ciders calm laid back open atmosphere“
“We had a great experience today at Bright Leaf! Weather was amazing and we just ordered a glass of beer and a Chardonnay (Oaked) plus a charcuterie board prepared by Rebecca. We asked for someone to take a photo, and Taylor was right there to do it.. We were pleasantly surprised by the owner Mike sitting down to visit with us, and talk all about his and Donna’s experience finding this property. Mike brought out a pizza for the two of us to share. I would highly recommend Bright Leaf Winery for your next visit to Cayuga Lake!“
“🥂 we loved the beautifully done gardens, and dry rose was very good. They even offer a small gift shop, as well as some small eats in a cooler, which was great to take back to the boat. Great place to kick back with you favorite bottle & people or pets 🥰“
“We love making this our first stop to visit the owners who have become our friends!!!“

“We spent the weekend visiting cideries in the Finger Lakes. Found IBC by chance in a search. This was the best cider by far. The venue is an old barn, the folks who run the place (Richie) greeted us warmly along with Ash, an enthusiastic and adorable Australian Shepherd who is living his best life hanging with the people and hiding bones.
The cool part about their product is how they source their apples—foraged or harvested from old orchards that they maintain in partnership with landowners in the area. Today I had the Amongst The Brambles, a cider made with blackberries. They told us that it is the sweetest of their ciders, but it lives at the intersection of dry and the very driest of semisweet. It is crisp, fruit forward, and has the kind of pleasant tartness and clean finish that makes you want to enjoy another glass.
The welcome area and bar is cozy, but when you wander toward the back of the 19th century barn you find this amazing space filled with antiques and comfortable couches and an ancient copy of the Moosewood cookbook and sunlight filtering through the cracks between the barnboard walls. Between all that and the chickens in the back yard, the effect is magical.
This is the perfect place to hang out, chat with the owners, play with the dog, and enjoy excellent local hard cider. We’ll be going back. I was disappointed that their T-shirts were sold out, but they had some cool stickers to offer (free). If you are in Ithaca, make an extra stop. You won’t regret it!“
