“Have lived next door in Spencer for 2 years now and am just getting to try this place. We went in skeptical (our default mode for ice cream) and were very pleasantly surprised. Typically neither my wife nor I like hard ice cream, the texture is generally unpleasant. But boy was this stuff good! We were hoping for pints of egg nog to go but were a day late! He had sold out! Now, this is the stand out part IMO, I was able to TEXT him about the pints so they were ready when we got there. That’s when I was informed he had sold out, instead of ending it there he didn’t hesitate to text me the list of other seasonal flavors to choose from. We decided to just go all out simply for customer service alone. Got hot fudge sundaes with candy cane ice cream, a pint of Butterfinger and a pint of Mocha Fudge to try at home. I’m not sure if he overheard me talking to my wife in the shop about being torn on trying the Frankenstein, or if he had extra to offload but he even threw that in and the last little bit of eggnog he had so we could at least try it. I was happier than a pig in…an all you can eat buffet. Back to the ice cream, the texture is perfect, it’s not dry and hard but it’s not soupy when it starts to melt either. The best way I can describe it is like taffy, there’s a stretch to it like frozen custard, and the pieces of candy cane were perfect. You knew they were there but they weren’t stick in your teeth big. I’m incredibly excited for our pints. Will definitely be going back, might even try a soup (soup and hot dogs were on the menu but I only had eyes for the ice cream). Oh, and he takes card and cash which is rare for most ice cream shops.“
