Food was excellent and so was the service
We went there for dinner and I couldn't believe how nice it is inside. The people were friendly. The food was delicious. I ordered an open face Ruben. The only thing that bothered me was; why was the parking lot empty!? Pete's Legacy is a few doors down and owned by the same person but they're overflowing with customers. Take a Break has food that matches Pete's in quality. More people need to go here.

Take-A-Break is a quiet diner with plenty of room inside that offers a variety of diner fare. The waitstaff is known for being excellent, friendly, expedient, courteous, and kind. The food quality can be hit or miss but was surprisingly really good and delicious. The breakfast was great and they have the best garlic bread, bread and butter. The desserts, particularly the cheesecakes, were reported to be severely overcooked, gritty, and dry. The carrot cake also suffered from being cooked at too high a temperature. The cannolis were really good, but the cake was pretty dry and stale.
Despite the mixed reviews on the food, Take-A-Break is said to have ample parking, even during busy times, and is considered kid-friendly, accommodating diners of all ages. The restaurant is also praised for its vegetarian options and willingness to work with dietary restrictions. It is a nice place for a social get together for lunch.
Overall, Take-A-Break seems to provide a decent dining experience with a calm atmosphere, with a focus on fantastic service, but the quality of the desserts could use some improvement. The building could use some love.
