“The best pernil (Caribbean style fresh ham) and tostones (twice fried unripe plantains) in the area. It's converted ice cream stand. A few tables in and a few out. It's primarily lunch. Right off the highway, but very much a local eatery. They do lots of takeout. Mostly lunch.“

“Stopped here with my sister and niece for a late lunch while we were out and about. Overall, good experience. Had the Oxtail and rice and peas, with beans and gravy. I ordered sweet plantains with mine, but it must have been the last bit, because it looked like 1 large one cut up or maybe two very small ones, so I just feel like there should have been more. Other than that, chances are I'll visit again because the food was good.“

“Mina’s Spanish Kitchen does not have Mina’s Spanish Kitchen the building! It is located in the strip mall where the movie theater use to be. Walden Bank across from the cemetery is where Mina’s is located and your GPS will have you confused“

“The new location in Mohegan Lake is fantastic. The service and food are religiously spot on and everything tastes fresh & seasoned perfectly. I know this is a fav of a lot of people but if you haven't tried it, you need to. We just had the new bowls today and they're amazing. So glad they opened the new spot when they closed the one in Jefferson Valley.“

“I would honestly give Danny more than a 5-star review if I could! I have been going to his restaurant for over 5 years now. The prices are great, the food is absolutely delicious, and it is my go to hot spot for a fresh, hot lunch. The roast pork, moro rice, and daily specials are always completely on point.
I read the negative reviews complaining about the service or saying the staff isn't friendly, and I think people are seriously misinterpreting things. This is a hardworking, fast paced neighborhood spot, not a corporate fast-food chain with fake, scripted smiles. When the counter staff is working hard to get your food out hot during a rush, a serious face doesn't mean a mean face!
If you actually take a moment to talk to Danny, you will see he is a genuinely good, down to earth person who cares about his community. He is human, too, and he doesn't deserve zero-star reviews just because he's real with people or having a busy day.
As for the food complaints the Dominican food here tastes exactly how it is supposed to taste. It is authentic, bold, and seasoned perfectly. If you want a real, home cooked meal made by real people at prices that can't be beat, skip the negative hype and support Danny!“
