“This is one of my fav take out restaurants ..the traditional empanadas are perfect , and the funky ones are imaginative and delicious. Warning, hot sauce is HOT.The stuff is always super friendly, and the smallish eating area is clean and welcoming.Kid-friendliness: It’s not chuck-e-cheese, but kids would like it.“
“Came here and had Tostones with Bistec encebollado (steak and onions) and a bowl of mixed salad. All was good. Just felt that since the cooking area is not blocked off from the dining area, you go home smelling just like greasy food. But overall not bad.“
“Me and my friend visited Konoz today (02/09/2024) Ms.Sabia (sorry if I've misspelled) and the whole team were amazing. Ms. Sabia gave her home made Puerto Rican hot sauce for me to try and it was delicious. She and the whole staff were very happy kind and professional. Kajen Burgers we had were amazing. Thanks for the ambiance, the great service and the delicious food.“
“I only ordered what my grandmother would make so that I could compare and have that home-cooking comfort! Nothing is ever as good as grandma’s cooking, but needless to say this is close #2!!! Arroz con gandules, mofongo with pernil, and alcapurria was my favorite but you cannot go wrong with anything. A small, cash only place that has a true homey neighborhood feel. Just waiting to go back!“
“Great place with lots of food variety. True PuertoRican food. Good price and friendly staff.Parking: If you are lucky, you can find parking on the street. There’s lots of traffic in the zone and people drive carelessly. Have to be careful crossing the streets.Wheelchair accessibility: Not easy for wheelchair.“
“Very good, one of the best lunch options in the neighborhood. There are quite a few similar food establishments in the area but for me this is a top spot. Their daily specials for lunch are great options, the place is clean and feels authentic.“
“I love the environment of this spot and the food it's truly great, they have the best preference for Latin food in Brooklyn, the help is astounding, and the server Nora Estrada takes my request and is truly kind, in the event that very much like Latin food this is an ideal spot for you.? ??“
“The place has such a vibe. The food is just delicious. I had a bacon egg and cheese and a chicken cutlet sandwich. We all have that sandwich spot. The one we like the bread at or the coffee or the way we get treated. This is my spot now. Customer service made you feel right at home. The vibe made you want to stay and relax for a little. Take some time and read this memo the owner has posted by the register. I should have taken a picture but the one line that stop out to me, If you need to vent do it because I will vent to you. I didn’t quote because I know is not just right but that just said so much to me about the place. I will be there again tomorrow. ??Ps. Got a pic of the memo also another chicken cutlet“
“Had an amazing dinner with my husband at the very friendly, hospitable, and professional Counter & Bodega restaurant. I made 5:30pm reservations, but they accommodated us an hour early with a smile. Bryan and Joanna are the best. They take such great pride in the food and service they provide. The ambiance, along with Hector Lavoe playing, made us feel like we were back in Grandma and Titi's house as kids, waiting for a tasty pastelle and a sneak swing of Coquito. No le digas nada a mami si no quiere fuete. Best dinner and time we had in a long time. Book a reservation, you won't be disappointed.Dietary restrictions: They made sure there was no dairy in any of my food due to my allergies.“
“I love to support my people but I've come from staten island two Saturday's in a row and have been turn away. Was told they weren't taking orders. Finally the 3rd Sat I ordered 4 empanadas de carne and two sodas, paid almost $25 only two find each empanadas had less then half in meat. The empanadas should have the meat falling out of them at the price we paying.. very disappointed..Sounda like your saying that you cook the empanadas with raw meat. I've seen my many family member make empanadas and the meat is put into the empandas already seasoned and cooked and only the shell is uncooked so that don't make sense too me.“
“The music and atmosphere were top-notch, creating a relaxed and inviting vibe. But let's talk about the food – oh boy, it was fantastic! We tried the sancocho and mofongo, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The sancocho was hearty and flavorful, while the mofongo was perfectly seasoned and had a great texture. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to try Dominican/ Puerto Rican food in the area“
“If you grew up in a Puerto Rican household hold this will be perfect to get that nostalgic feeling. They had live music on the day we weekend. It brought me back to when family and friends would just enjoy each other company with some drinks and fried food. Everyone was nice and felt like we knew each other for years.“
“Yes yes and yes. Love this food truck. I try alot of places and this is now on my top 5. The lechon is amazing juicy, the bacalauito is so good.... flavor and all perfect crunch, the tostones de panas so good nice crispy while soft inside the sauce that comes with it omg amazing flavor. The yucca was soo good. I Also had a passion fruit pina coloda that was super good not to sweet just perfect. Definitely recommend this place for authentic flavor and amazing customer service. Super friendly and care for there customers. Very affordable. The photos I attached I already ate from.“
“Space is limited, if possible I recommend buying to go. However, we were a group of 6 and the ladies kindly helped us accommodate two tables. The food was delicious, and the portion was more than enough. Perfect to get out of the fast food routine to eat something more homemade. I would definitely go again“
“Amazing whole in the wall spot. I'm puertorican, and it's hard to find a good boricua place in NJ. This place is great. The food is great, and the service is outstanding. They treat their customers like family, and the prices are good. I definitely recommend this spot!“
“By coming here, you put aside all snobby expectations and your mission is only to have some real bomb @ss food. Bro I cannot put into words how good and real it is. Both kinds of alcapurria here (banana and yuka) to start and follow with anything else. The ladys are nice but try to know some Spanish.“
“This place took over a popular breakfast diner near Newark Airport and all signs now say "Cafe con Pan" outside. But inside, the 2-person cook staff was wearing "Esquina del Coqui" t-shirts. We ate a hearty portion of bacon and eggs, a light and well cooked potato ball stuffed with beef and some very good cafe con leche. They have lots of empanadas and pastries in a case, they bake custom cakes, and have some chafing dishes of meat and chicken stews. Didn't try that so can't speak to the main dishes. Very nice team and very welcoming. Lots of truckers coming in for takeout so assuming food is pretty good. Certainly cheap. Sidewalk seating available too.“
“ME Casa is some of the best authentic Spanish Caribbean food I have ever had in the Tri-State area. I am never disappointed with anything on the menu, but their arroz con gandules is some of the best I ever had. Pair that with their pepper steak and you have a match made in food heaven.“
