“This was our first time trying The Gate House and we were impressed! We came on a Thursday afternoon with no reservation and were seated right away. Our server was prompt and attentive immediately and continued through the duration of our meal. We tried the Xerox pizza as well as the Duffy burger and both were 10/10! Absolutely delicious. “It was apparent that the new owner Vickie wants to change the whole vibe and not for the better. She could care less about accomadting you with options & if you have any food allergies. I do not recommend Nosh, not the same restaurant and feel its a turn for the worst. One out of the four meals one was acceptable we had 12/14/2023.The waitress very sweet but felt she was as frustrated as we were. Vickie the owner made no effort to accommodate us and was almost rude.I will pass this along, is a small coummiity in Rochester. Any postive reviews you read are prior to Vickie taking over restuarant.“

“Crispy Eggplant Parm Sandwich w/ House Chips and Chocolate Coconut Mousse were all delicious, and the service that I received from Ian was both welcoming and attentive. This was the first time that I’ve been out to eat in a while, when I didn’t have to worry so much about compromising flavor, in place of excessive dairy and meats. The Owl House is a winner- I’ll definitely be back! 🤤👍🏼“

“We recently had a surprise 40th birthday celebration for my daughter. There were 14 guests. We had brunch on a Sunday. Everything was wonderful. The General Manager, Webster was great to work with. He was very professional as well as personable. The staff was amazing. Very polite & we had exceptional service. The food was delicious. Everyone was very pleased with what they had. We would highly recommend the Brown Hound.“

My only reason it's not 5 stars is that we had a weird miscommunication with he server. 2 people at the table asked for a side of churros and the other had chicken and churro entree. The server came over and said that they can't do the churros and so the person with the chicken and churros ordered side of fries instead and they 2 others with the sides of churros asked for sides of bacon instead. Fast forward, all of us got our entress instead of 1 person. They waited 15 minutes longer than everyone else. Then all of a sudden 3 sides of churros came out. The server said ok the kitchen is trying these. So now at this point everyone had their replacement sides and now 3 sides of churros. We assumed they "were testing them" since that's what the server said and they would be on the house since now that's too much food. But when we got the bill we were charged for the curros and the other sides. It was just confusing overall with the communication on that and then also we got charged for sides and the cjurros when we wanted 1 or the other not both. The manager, which I think is the owner was very nice and they comped the churros. It sounded like the server told them that we didn't like the churros, but it was more of the principle of being charged. Would definitely go back, I would never hold a miscommunication against a restaurant, but just wanted to voice a few things. Overall cool new spot“

“Wow this lace is fantastic. We had a graduation party here. Venue was perfect with easy parking and a beautiful space. But then the staff, you can’t find better. Fast service, the best espresso martinis martini’s, old fashioned’s, and they remember you every time you cane up. Just a beautiful space, with amazing staff. Don’t think twice, book it now!“

“Our second time coming to the Mad Hatter Restaurant and Bakery. This time we came with our four granddaughters. This is a good choice as our granddaughters like vegetarian food and gluten-free options. This is a unique local restaurant you feel like you’re going down a rabbit hole with Alice. Limited parking which is why we walked from the George Eastman Museum which we just visited. I highly recommend the Mad Hatter if you’re in the city.“

“The Hideaway hosted an event for us in their back room and it an amazing experience. Food and service were far beyond what we expected. We were having a hard time booking a different venue for our event so I reached out to Max just in case it fell through. Max responded to my inquiry right away and set up a call to discuss the plans for our event. He offered to hold the room for a couple days while we made our decision, which was unexpected and very much appreciated. Based on that interaction alone, we canceled on the original venue we had been communicating with for months and went with Max and the Hideaway. I wish I had known they did events earlier. They were amazing! They were flexible on the time, let us arrange the tables in the room as needed, were very personable and somehow knew exactly when to come by to get us more food and drinks. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing experience... I'd rate them higher if I could! If you are looking for an event or party venue in Rochester, look no futher“

“The staff was very friendly. The restaurant was really clean. The tables were clean. Wait time when I first walked in until the time I was seated was approximately five minutes once I was seated the waitress appeared within 3 to 4 minutes to take my order. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. The Reuben sandwich was really well made very flavorful for my side. I chose the macaroni salad which had no flavor whatsoever. It was very bland.“

“Haven't been here in a few years but I returned last night to find everything is still excellent. The food was incredible from the duck meatballs to the waygu meatloaf and raspberry creme brulee. Our server Matt was spot on. I'll remember to come back more often!“
