“Im in the service and happened to stop into this place. Its only a matter of time before this hidden gem gets nationally recognized so get in there while you can! From the friendly atmosphere, to such a huge menu and even a nice punch drink that has a good kick too it.My group had a large and complicated order I expected there to be at least a mistaie but the food was well prepared, fast and delicious! I especially recommend the chicken kabobs and the sliders. But the big selling point is the hospitality. Just a cool crew to hang out with while the foods being prepped. Delicious!“
“Love this little cafe and the food is just an added bonus. I love their seasonal coffee drinks. The seasoned potatoes are a MUST. I typically go for their breakfast items but friends and family love their lunch options as well.Parking: The parking lot for the plaza this place is in, gets full pretty quickly. It is also a narrow, tight squeeze.“
“Exceptional service. The server we got was very sweet and polite (forgot her name). Food came out fast and we didn’t have to wait too long to be seated. Cinnamon pancakes were good (5/5), strawberry lemonade was okay (4/5), southwest turkey wrap was delicious (5/5). My friend ordered a special drink they had (red velvet cappuccino). He said it was very delicious and flavorful“
“What an awesome, cozy, homie restaurant to eat for breakfast/brunch/lunch! I’d been wanting to check it out and finally we did! Went with the kids and partner, and we all loved it! The food was amazing, had a variety of things from the breakfast and lunch menu and we all tried from each other’s food. The kids actually raved about it, which was awesome to hear. We had some of the French toast, pistachio pancake (it’s perfect b/c you can choose to get 1, 3, or a stack or minis, so no wasted food), sausages, loaded fries with cheese, bacon, and scallions sprinkled on it, and 2 different grilled chicken sandwiches (veggies were cooked so well inside the sandwiches too, and pesto yummy!). The portions are generous. I will say it is cash only, so be prepared to bring cash or take out their atm on site. They close at 2pm, so also be mindful of that. The staff was so friendly and dedicated, our waiter was Jack and he was so good with providing us options within our chosen meals. The cooks in the front and back end were all grooving to the awesome old school music playing, which was nice to see. Such cute unique decor - all about cows haha. A very poppin’ ambiance, perfect for an early family meal together or with friends or significant other! Even those it’s a 30+ min drive for us, we would totally go back!Vegetarian options: I did notice an all veggies sandwich, and the veggies were perfectly cooked and crunchy! Had them in my own sandwich.Kid-friendliness: Dedicated section for kids and even able to get single pancakes if needed, love that!“
“What a find! When a little snow scares off lesser cafes from opening, Hometown pulls up the slack. Old school rugged mindsets and hearty meals for more than reasonable prices.I'm glad my usual breakfast stop was closed, Hometown is my new favorite!Eggs bacon toast and coffee done right. Came out fast after ordering. You cant go wrong.Fabulous service. I noted everyone knew customers names as they entered. That is a great sign. It was like being at an aunts home or at Grandma's.Cozy place with a fireplace going too!Forget the diners, hometown is the perfect stop.“
“Ordered takeout, which included a few meals with pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns etc. Food was good! Only complaint - Checked “yes” for adding condiments, but was not given anything. Not even pancake syrup which unfortunately I did not discover until I got home and did not have any in the house. Ate the pancakes dry and they were still good.“
“I can only speak for breakfast because we regularly stop in here, it’s a very good place to stop for a quick reasonably priced egg sandwich. The egg sandwiches are consistently good and their prices are one of the few places left that are very reasonable and includes a small coffee in the price. The staff is always friendly and efficient.“
“Went here 2 separate times, and both experiences were unique. The first one was amazing, a bit pricy but quality food. The second one wasn’t, the hashbrowns and the bacon were VERY salty, I could not eat the second half. I hope they will take this into consideration!“
“IHOP of Commack has been our choice for Breakfast for years. We have been going with our kids and now with our grandkids. The food choices are many and breakfast is out favorite time with the grandkids from the funny face pancakes to the new Girl Scout Mint Chocolate Chip pancakes. The staff and the owners are always helpful and nice. There is plenty of parking but get there early cause there can be a wait.“
“Love this little restaurant in the town of Amityville. Been here several times for breakfast and never disappointed! Food was delicious and I appreciated a normal size of home fries. Unique atmosphere and very pleasant staff. Plan on returning to try some lunch dishes.“
“Excellent food and their Happy Hour prices (3-9 pm) are exceptional. While the selection is limited, nonetheless it is discounted to half price. Eating in or taking out makes no difference as the food and service are great. Only really crowded for holidays and Sunday brunch.“
“Such delicious and perfectly toasted garlic bagel and egg everything bagel I ever had with pastrami, egg overeasy and cheese with pepper ketchup thank you. Excellent customer service next time I'll take a picture we were just too hungry. Serve your own coffee and get to pick a few flavors like French vanilla and caramel“
“We went for pancakes on the snowiest day of the year! Two thumbs up for terrific staff and a short stack of perfect pancakes!Kid-friendliness: We were with our grandchildren and the staff was helpful to have our orders quickly ready for three hungry children! Crayons and coloring pages what a fun add to our experience.“
“Here's the Scoop!: Came for breakfast with my husband and son. Upon arriving it was packed as usual. Many customers were waiting in there cars to be called. The hostess said there was about 30 minute wait. So we stayed. Customers were constantly coming in. That's a sure sign that the food is delicious. This is the first time that I was at this location. The hostess was friendly and the seating was definitely different from the other location in the Centereach area. There's a small waiting area with a bench to the right as you enter that will hold 3 people. Service is quick once you're seated and your food is delivered very hot. I ordered the fratata with English muffin and potatoes. My husband and son ordered the big breakfast that came with eggs, sausage, bacon and pancakes. I also had a glass of orange juice. We enjoyed our breakfast immensely. It was simply delicious! I know for sure we'll come here again. If you haven't gone to a Brownstones yet my fellow Yelpers please do! You won't be sorry!“
