The food was delicious, we found all of our vendors from their vendor showcase, and our wedding attendants saw to every need we had. As a same-sex couple we felt safe, treated with just as much respect as any other couple, and would highly recommend this venue to any LGBTQ+ couple. A wonderful young man named Sean walked us around and pointed out all of the special places where everything would be held and where to take beautiful pictures for her upcoming wedding. Sean then sat down with us and went over all of the amenities and enhanced item possibilities. He was extremely thorough and answered all of our questions. Planning a wedding can be very stressful, but he put our minds at ease. He was accommodating, respectful and communicative when it came to explaining what exactly would take place on her wedding day. I believe Sean is an absolute asset to the Riviera staff!“

“I love the Stew Leonard's opportunity which is why I write this and hope that moving forward will see an improvement. As of late, your chicken butchers are very inconsistent. This weekend's packages (8 pounds of family pack) "thin breast cutlets" were not so. Many were very thick, the length of each piece was aprox. 9" in length and some were as they should have been, thin and under 4 inches in length. The time before - same issue. All the prior times - PERFECT in length, thickness, and with the grain and not against. Thank you for reading this and hopefully improving your training and supervising (if applicable).“

If you're craving filling and satisfying mexican food don't even THINK about going anywhere else. “I must have drove past this place over a hundred times. Came to try i out and was blown away. I got a combo over salad. The sauces are homemade, everything was fresh and delicious. The owner was really nice. Also they has mango lassi. It was the first time ive seen on a halal truck and it was some of the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend. Also it was extremely affordable and fast. 10x better than going to McDonald’s or taco bell“

“A real hidden gem! We finally got to try this place out and all of the food we ordered was delicious. We had the turkey with gravy, rotisserie chicken, rice, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. We will definitely be back! The kids are picky eaters and they gobbled it all down.“

“Outstanding family-owned company. I understand that because Michael Lessing, the CEO, has a fondness for Florida, the company's operation has expanded to Palm Beach County. Well, for those of us who are down here frequently, we reap the benefit. My wife's two favorite restaurants are run by Lessing's: North Palm Beach Country Club Clubhouse and Lucky Shucks. We eat at those establishments literally 1-2 times per week. (Shout-out to Danielle, Peter, Louis, and Rachel at NPBCC... you are awesome... and a thank-you to Joe Namath at Lucky Shucks who was kind enough to grant my son a photo).“

Every single person was talking about how polite, knowledgeable, and professional the griller and shucker were. We will definitely be using this company for every event.“

“I’m writing this review because places like this genuinely deserve recognition, and I want more people to support a business that clearly cares about its customers.
For about a year now, I’ve been going to the West Islip library to study (I’m a student at Suffolk County Community College). I live in Deer Park, and the Deer Park library just doesn’t compare—it’s not a great environment. West Islip is quiet, comfortable, and actually lets me focus. On the way there, I’ve passed this deli countless times and never bothered going in.
A couple months ago, I noticed they had burgers on the sign, which made me think they probably had more variety than just typical deli sandwiches. Today, after class, I was craving a bacon, egg, and cheese and decided—on a whim at a red light—to finally stop in instead of going somewhere else.
Right away, I could tell this place was different. They had CALPICO and RAMUNE in multiple flavors, plus a variety of ramen and Asian snacks. That’s not something you usually see in a deli, and it immediately stood out to me.
But what really made this place unforgettable was the service.
It’s run by what seems like an older Korean couple, and they were some of the kindest, most welcoming people I’ve ever met in any food spot. Not the usual rushed, impatient “what do you want?” kind of interaction you sometimes get at delis. They greeted me warmly and made me feel completely comfortable—like I was being welcomed into someone’s home.
When I grabbed a room-temperature drink, they immediately told me they had cold ones, walked me over to the fridge, and helped me pick a flavor. They even took the warm one from my hand to put it back for me. It was such a simple moment, but it showed how much they genuinely care.
For context, I study culinary arts and I’m currently trying to get into the food industry, so I pay attention to service and how businesses are run. This is exactly how it should be done. You can tell they care about their customers and take pride in their business.
The food was great too. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese with hot sauce and ketchup, and the hot sauce was different from the usual—in a really good way. It wasn’t just thrown together; it felt like they actually cared about making it right.
I walked in feeling kind of down—it was just one of those Mondays—but I left in a completely different mood. Hours later, I’m still thinking about how kind they were.
I’m not even exaggerating when I say this—I would take a bullet for these people. That’s how genuinely good they were to me. If they were hiring, I would work for them in a heartbeat and stay there as long as the place exists. I truly want nothing but success for them.
The total came out to about $17, but that included two imported drinks, so it makes sense. And honestly, I don’t regret it at all. I’d gladly spend my money here again.
This is officially my new go-to spot every time I go to the library. I’d rather come here than go to Dunkin’, 7-Eleven, or anywhere else.
I love this place. I mean that seriously. Even if I’m not getting a full meal, I’d go out of my way just to grab a drink or a bag of chips to support them.
If you’re anywhere near West Islip, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Businesses like this deserve to succeed.“
