I buy their sourdough bread, weekly, and the pumpernickel, honestly, the best I’ve had.Their cakes are always beautifully decorated. “My first time trying this place since it changed its name. We ordered tamales, tacos and a torta. Tamales taste authentic, much larger than what I’m used too, but that’s a plus. Torta had a lot of meat, very good. Tacos were also very good, and loaded with meat. I enjoyed the salsa verde and the spicy red salsa as well. I’ve been hoping for a good authentic Mexican spot in Whitestone so I don’t have to drive to College Point or Corona, so glad I gave this place another chance.“

“A damn good burger! ? Seriously I’ve had a lot of burgers in my life and burgers happen to be my favorite food but this all American cheeseburger from @cake_burgers has to be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I mean from the top to the bottom the soft, perfectly toasted brioche bun, to the perfectly crisp and fresh lettuce and tomatoes and melty cheese, and their special burger sauce?! Whenever a restaurant has a special sauce I have to try it because I have high expectations and this one exceeded it. The grilled onions made it even better! The meat was perfectly cooked and so juicy. It was like my dream burger had finally come to fruition. I am also a big sweet potato fries lover and they make the PERFECT sweet potato fries, everything is balanced so nicely from seasoning to texture. It’s no surprise the chef has past experience working at Michelin star restaurants and even received compliments from THE Anthony Bourdain!!!! “Been here twice already and I'll be coming back! I love supporting small family owned shops but it's easy here because the desserts/pastries here are delicious. The desserts are Filipino-inspired which is not commonly seen in this area. I've tried their basque cheesecake, ube donut, and their Bicho bicho, along with the ube foam iced coffee. I'm not even a big fan of ube but that recommended ube donut was a pleasant surprise. I'll be back to try their croissants :-)“

“This old-school Asian bakery serves some of the best sponge cakes that are, you guessed it, not too sweet. Yeh's Bakery has been a staple in Flushing for 36 years. Their Boston Cream Pie is made out of two layers of sponge cake and fresh cream, and is one of their best sellers. If you want it, make sure to come early because sometimes they sell out. It's so light and airy, so soft and fluffy, and so freaking good. Sponge cakes are already good, but sponge cakes with cream are even better. Yeh's also serves slices of some of their light, airy, and soft sponge cakes for $1.70 (sliced flavors like the green tea and vanilla, but not the strawberry or taro). Whole rolls go for $15 each. Cakes start at 8 inches with flavors including vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, green tea, taro, and chestnut. You can even make the cakes into a heart shape! For their egg tarts, their custard is very light and soft. Great for people who don't like their egg tarts too creamy or heavy! Being a Taiwanese bakery, they also sell Taiwanese pineapple cakes at $2 each with two cake rectangles inside. The next time I go to Taiwan, imma eat pineapple cakes like these everyday.
