“I work as a merchandiser in the city and I asked a colleague from one of our stores for a pizza recommendation. She told me to check them out and I am so glad I did. It smelled absolutely delicious the minute I walked in and I was thrilled they had meatball pizza by the slice (my favorite ?). Not only was the pizza a hearty sized slice, the meatball is delicious. The gentleman at the counter was warm and knowledgeable and made me feel right at home. I will definitely be back.“

“It’s casual but polished casual.$5.25/ Freddo Cappuccino. It was very good. This was the item I was most impressed with at Pi Bakerie, over and above the pastries and baked dishes. If I come back to Pi Bakerie it will be specifically for the Freddo Cappuccino. I could envision myself deliberately making a detour via SoHo for this Freddo Cappuccino. Which is pretty cool that means they have a “destination item” on their menu.I’d be curious to compare with Café Lyria who also make reportedly excellent Greek Freddo Cappuccino (this is like the Italian Schakerato).Also curious to try their Peinirli (“cheese boat”). Looked delicious.“

“After visiting the Museum of Moving Image in Astoria we walked up the block and had a nice lunch at Pig Beach BBQ. My husband and I split the sampler platter which we both enjoyed. My favorite was the pulled pork and my husband’s favorite was the ribs.We were both surprised that it was more of a cafeteria style set up instead of sit down. To me that was probably the only drawback. But it was a very laid back casual atmosphere which a lot of people may find appealing.“

“Lovely chocolates here :) I had ordered them online for gifts and went to pick them up, and ended up getting another box after I tried two of their samples -- they were that good! The owner is very friendly and kind as well. I picked up the chocolates on a rainy day, and he put the chocolates in two bags and put tape over them so that they don't get ruined by the rain. That was really nice of him to consider and do!“

“We have a lot of fond memories on Glen Island so it only is appropriate to have a wedding there. Met with Rocco he was extremely helpful. Because of Covid restrictions and other family emergencies we had to put the planning of our wedding on hold. We recently looked at this venue and it is looking like this place will be the winner for having our winter wedding in 2022. Tasteful decor, classy, elegant but not ostentatious or over the top like some of the other venues, which is exactly my style.“

“We just happened to stop by the store to have a quick look. The store was a lot of fresh food. The Italian loaf of bread was fresh and sift. We bought sesame noodles and olive and onion focaccia. We heated up the focaccia, and the bread was amazing. The workers were amazingly fantastic. Very friendly people. Im glad we found this whole in the gem. It does an excellent job at bridging the gap between the old neighborhood and the infusion of the new crowd in a way in which everyone feels welcome. “This place is very nice but very small. There is one bathroom for everyone and the lights there are very dim. It looks larger on the pictures than reality. We enjoyed our avocado rolls and dumplings on the patio. It is a very limited menu for food and drinks. The positive is that it is very cute and they have a train caboose that you can also dine in on the street.“
