“My family and I celebrated a wonderful "birthday dinner" on 11-11-2023 at El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant at 2195 Riverside Dr. in Upper Arlington.Over the years, I have eaten many times at the El Vaquero at 3230 Olentangy River Rd. but had never before eaten [as far as I can recall] at the El Vaquero at 2195 Riverside Dr.I had always assumed that the El Vaquero at 2195 Riverside Dr. is across the street from Upper Arlington but learned, several days after we had eaten there, while carefully checking the Upper Arlington map, that that restaurant is actually in Upper Arlington even though they are on the west side of Riverside Dr.We had arrived for our "birthday meal" during the late afternoon after we had briefly visited several places just north of there [Frank's Marathon and two locations within Griggs Reservoir Park] immediately before sunset so that I would be able to take some photographs of those places while the sun had still been shining. The restaurant had been nearly empty when we had arrived but quickly became crowded as people started to arrive for "happy hour" specials and/or for late-afternoon meals. My food choice that afternoon had been #40: "Chicken Burrito and Chicken Enchilada" [one burrito and one enchilada topped with lettuce, sour cream, and tomato].If you are looking for delicious Mexican food served in an energetic environment, I recommend El Vaquero [at any of their several locations].“
“Was in the neighborhood (Zaftig) and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. Found Yappy on google and decided to stop in. The young man taking our order seemed a bit confused about the menu platters vs bowls rice vs fries but was able to take the order and get it mostly right. There seemed to be a lot of confusion with the cooks from where we were standing… salad (lettuce) was a little brown for my liking and skimpy with the dressing but the details were appreciated … despite being a small side salad there was effort to get a banana pepper, wedge of tomato 2 slices of red onion, chick peas, olives and feta on each combo - which took effort … rhey get an E for effortThe fries r wendy’s size and prepared well. The gyro was also well dressed tho again could have used a splash more tzatziki sauce which I asked for an extra side, which I was charged for but did not receive.Thought the hummus was a little pricey but it was delightful and the pita was served fresh and warm .. I would try them again … except I might forgo the combo confusion and just order a gyro and fries a la carteThe gyro meat was a tad salty in places where there were no toppings (think close to the base of the pita) and not enough sauce … but it was not a deal breakerMy husband had the rice instead of fries and reported it was undercooked/underwhelming . He enjoyed the gyro and was disappointed they were out or spinach dip .Id go back, check my order more closely and as I mentioned likely stick with a la carte“
“If you are a FOODIE and have been wanting Birria tacos, you have to come here! I drove two hours to get these tacos because I've been wanting Birria bad and they were worth the drive. Crispy shell, rich beef flavor, fresh onions and cilantro and the consomme is on point. Every bite was tasty, not bland like other places in Ohio, you can actually taste the spices. This is Authentic Tijauana style red Birria tacos like you see with food bloggers on IG. The staff was super friendly. The best days to go are Thurs-Sat when the Birria is available all day. Get there early because they sell out fast.“
“Was at the market with a friend and we decided to get the nachos. They're easily the best nachos I can remember having. Styled as Southern Mexican cuisine, not the typical texmex. The owner is friendly and we had a nice conversation after we enjoyed watching them hand make their tortillas. Highly recommend. Will return.“
“the vibes were immaculate. the atmosphere is wonderful, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious. I’ve never had such flavorful refried beans or yellow rice, and the meat on the tacos was tender and delicious. will def be coming back to try more of their menu !!“
“Impressively good. Some of the better tacos I've had in the Columbus area. I love beans and rice and theirs are especially good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Easy to get to. Lots of parking. The interior is spacious, clean and atheistically pleasing. This is the blueprint for how to do a great taco joint.I selfishly hope they are very successful. This my new go to for tacos in GC.“
“I recently had the pleasure of trying Catrina Mexican Cousin’s tinga tostada, and I must say, it brought me back to my mom’s kitchen. Sharing such a sentiment isn’t something I take lightly, but Misael’s passion for his cooking shines through in every bite. The flavors were rich, authentic, and filled with love. I hope Catrina Mexican Cousin can expand soon so more people can experience their delicious food. And the best part? They now offer online orders, making it even easier to enjoy their dishes. ¡Delicioso!“
“We have eaten here several times and the food and service are top notch! They have some flavorful selections that are unlike anything I've found at other Mexican restaurants. It looks like they gave a talented artist free reign on murals and painted patterns on walls and ceilings. The owners and staff obviously take a lot of pride in the quality of the food & overall experience. Highly recommend!“
“Street food. We love street food and that's exactly what we got. The trend and highly recommended are the Birria tacos. Dipped in the beef juice and wait for it.........DAMN!! Fantastic!! Rice was delicious and all of the tacos. They prep the pastor (pork leg & pineapple) on the heated rotisserie and it is crazy good. Highly recommended! Also if you're going alcohol free, the Jarritos or the Mexican Coke!! You'll thank me later.“
“Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced food. You have to line up to place an order if you are sitting at a table because they don’t have enough servers at the moment, but if you sit at the bar like we did, you can order from there. The servers were friendly. Will definitely visit again.“
“Muy rico! I was very impressed. Great service great food. It’s authentic and the tortillas are homemade even the flour ones which I’ve never had except in Mexico. So very pleased to see that. I wish there was one in Dayton. They’re tacos suadero I a brisket style Mexican beef and it’s rare to find in America, so cool that they make it.“
“I'm a big fan of Mexican food. I travel to Mexico every year almost and have lived in San Diego where Mexican food is predominant everywhere. I can tell you all that this is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Their birria is a must try!“
“Haberneros has consistently good food, delivered to your table fast and hot. The staff is friendly and prompt with service. The menu is a typical Mexican restaurant selection, but executed well. The pastor is spicy and delicious. Excellent choices for vegetarians. The drink menu is impressive, especially the huge margaritas. Finally, no meal is complete at Haberneros without the fresh made churros!“
“I love the Carnitas here , the gorditas and tostadas are sooo good. Somedays its good customers and other days it’s not the same customer service. Somedays you will find somewhere to sit others day you gotta eat in your car. Somedays it’s clean and other days it’s dirty. I got over the inconsistency, because it’s the best carnitas in town, I been going to this place for 6 years now.“
“The birria tacos were bursting with flavor, and the meat was incredibly tender. The consommé that came with it was the perfect complement, rich and savory. The service was prompt and friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back for more of these mouthwatering tacos. Highly recommended!”Esta auténtica birria en Ohio es simplemente excepcional. ¡No te la puedes perder!”“
“Always a fantastic experience getting La Poblanita. The employees are friendly, the food is incredible and the price is reasonable. I go at least once every two weeks- it’s that good. My family has been going for years now. Without a doubt the best Mexican I’ve ever had! We love the pork and chicken tamales, pastor tacos, and birria tacos, you really can’t go wrong.“
“Taqueria Guadalajara in Columbus, Ohio is an absolute culinary gem! From the moment you step inside, you're transported to the vibrant streets of Mexico City. The atmosphere is lively, the aromas are intoxicating, and the flavors are simply out of this world. Each dish is a masterpiece of authentic Mexican cuisine, bursting with freshness and authenticity. The tacos? Perfection in every bite, with tender, juicy meats and mouthwatering salsa. The enchiladas? Heavenly, with just the right amount of cheese and sauce. And don't even get me started on the guacamole – it's like a taste of paradise! But what truly sets Taqueria Guadalajara apart is the warm and welcoming hospitality of the staff. They treat you like family from the moment you walk in, ensuring that every visit is a memorable one. If you're in Columbus and craving Mexican food that's not only delicious but also soul-satisfying, look no further than Taqueria Guadalajara. It's an experience you won't soon forget!“
“They have the best authentic street tacos that I have tried in Columbus. The pastor is my favorite and the steak coming in 2nd! They are always friendly and very quick, prices are great. I have had 3 different people try this past week and they all said it was fire!!!“
“Amazing chicken tamales, birria, and the best tortas I've had in OH. Their sauces are full of rich chile flavors, spice & acidity!Everything is fresh and colorful, with perfect touches like cucumbers and limes. the small patio is a good option for a quick bite!Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible for mobility impairments. feature a wide, solid ramp. Well done, as the main counter and pickup window are on an elevated slab up a few stairs! Chairs outside can be easily rearranged.“
“My wife and I went to our second favorite Mexican restaurant for Valentine's Day lunch. O My Goodness! The menu selection was vast. It took us a while to make a decision. My wife got a Quesadilla that was massive, and she enjoyed it except she didn't get the extra cheese she requested. My dish was a combo choice, and it was good. I only gave a 4 star due to a little communication issue with the extra cheese. It was made right as best they could.“
“Delicious! I paid $24 for two orders of birria tacos which come with 3 tacos each and some sauces. Only took 13 minutes to receive. Very filling and fresh. Good customer service! Location is a little weird but there is parking. Accepts card.“
“Love this place! I'm obsessed with tex mex or any type or fast, authentic good Mexican type food and this is great for a quick bite. Alot of options from burritos, bowls, stacks, quesadillas, tacos and multiple meat and vegetarian options. Love how each order gets bag of free chips AND salsa. The food is fresh and cooked daily. You can order online for pickup and earn rewards thru app. The white queso is by far the best I have ever had even compared to a sit down Mexican restaurant. It's same idea as Chipotle BUT way more options, different flavors to involve in your meal and way better homemade salsa options made daily!“
“The food here is literally so delicious ? The service is excellent. Very nice, very friendly. This will be our new favorite place. We got the birria ramen, birria pizza, Carne asada Street tacos, Baja shrimp taco, Carne asada, and horchata. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS “
“Kenn is our server almost every Tuesday and she always makes sure we have everything we need!! She remembers our drinks and never fails to tell us about the weekly taco :) We love coming here every week for the atmosphere and she keeps us coming back!“
“What an unassuming place locating inside Saraga on Hamilton. Loved the warm tortillas for the tacos. Friendly and helpful with menu suggestions as we are not familiar with different options. Too bad we only had limited time during the visit but will definitely be back again soon.“
“We love Qdoba! It has the freshest , best tastingMexican food around!! We live in Pickerington but will drive to New Albany or Polaris to get it!! It has great salsa, queso, chips, salads and bowls and quesdillas!! The servers are so friendly!Vegetarian options: Salads, beans, lettuce, pickled onions , stir fried veggies!!“
“It's always easy to place an order for carryout over the phone. They've always gotten my orders correct. The enchiladas and nachos are great.Staff is always very patient and attentive even when busy.Parking: Several spots for carry out by the front entrance“
“An unassuming Taco truck, parked in a convenience store parking lot. Great tacos, including the recently popular Birria style beef tacos with cheese and consome dipping sauce. Depending on which tacos you choose, the three taco minimum will only set you back $9-12. But be sure to tip the staff, who are the nicest folks.“
“The food is spot on, and the people are so amazing. This is a family owned business. The people that own this restaurant branched away from the Mexican restaurant on high street and started their own little place. If you are looking for those familiar faces that you once seen they are here! This place once was the old Dan's Diner and now it is Tios Mexican restaurant. The photos of our food doesn't even do justice on how flavorful it was. I hope to see this place packed in the near future once people realize how great the food is and who the people are that run it. I had 4 people in my group and didn't spend a whole $100 here. The prices are good. They also serve breakfast!“
“Love the atmosphere here with seating above in a cube that is cutting edge to me. Queso fundido is larger and more satisfying than expected. Chicken bowl was fresh, and trying the quesodilla was a good choice. I would skip the hot sauce offered as it was too hot for some, and as a fan of hot I did not like the flavor. Opt for the medium or mild. Otherwise definitely worth a try“
“10/5 stars and will forever be my favorite taco truck! I always order the chicken tacos just the way they come and they are the exact same every single time! After ordering at the truck, I stop inside for some fresh pineapple juice and wait for my order to be ready! The inside area has plenty of drinks and snacks. They typically have horchata and pineapple juice on a daily basis. The mild salsa is something that I dream of on a daily basis!“
“Today was my first time visiting Pachucos Taqueria. The food truck offers authentic Mexican traditional entrees. I called in my order (recommend) in the late morning. I ordered a regular chicken taco, a chicken supreme taco, a regular steak taco. The chicken and steak meats were savory and deliciously seasoned. All three tacos were amazing! There is an eating area that is covered and is just a few feet away from where you place, pay, and pickup your order. Parking is limited and tight. Decent prices. Nice and friendly service via phone order and picking up my order.“
“Reno is just a bit overcooked, but everything else was fine.My original review was 4 stars, but this has since become my favorite Mexican Restaurant. We typically get the wet burrito's or tacos for take out, and we just keep returning, and bringing our families.“
“It was about time to have some real 'Mexicano' plates around this neighborhood, you can't go wrong with the tequilas (clase Azul and Don Julio my fav) or the margaritas as well, try the recommendations and the specials for lunch/dinner ?, and get your kiddos a delicious horchata (no ice), enjoy!!!“
“We celebrated National Margarita Day with a pitcher of “Mustache Rides” and we were pleasantly surprised! Don’t be fooled by the size of the pitcher, they pack a punch for sure. We do wish they would back off on the ice a bit in the pitcher allowing more of the margarita goodness to serve the 4 of us. None the less, it was a tasty concoction. As for the food, this will be one of our regular stops from now one. Queso, guac, and salsa are all highly recommended. The chips and salsa are “help yo’self”, as much as you like. Genius! The tacos slap and be sure to upgrade to Weesy-style because the goodness overtook the importance of mindful eating at that point. They go out of their way of helping you save a buck while filling your belly on Tuesdays with a price cut on their tacos and I would suggest getting in early. Be generous to the staff, they really do a great job! Atmosphere has a funky vibe and a great playlist. If you are looking for gluten-free options, you will feel right at home.“
“I am a little new to Columbus , and I absolutely love Mexican food , I think I found me a new place to relax drink and definitely have some great food !! Thank you so much to Esmeralda H she was fantastic all around , from the time I came in until I left !! She told me about the Lunch Buffet everyday from 11am to 2pm. I will see you then !! Have a fantastic day , see you soon !!“
“It's a great spot for a super cheap meal. It was one of the only places I've found on the OSU campus that had pupusas. The empanadas are also a must try. It is cash only, so keep that in mind. It usually takes about 10 minutes to make your order, so make sure you have that time.“
“THE BEST TACO TRUCK IN COLUMBUS. HANDS DOWN. Not enough praise for this place, worth taking a trip to campus. I’m telling you, I come here once a week and the food, staff and service is 10/10. I am so appreciative of how kind the staff is and the food is like it came straight from the heart. Perfect, classic, tasteful and flavorful street tacos. “
“One of (if not the) best Mexican food trucks in the Columbus area. Actually authentic and delicious. If you are looking for a Tex-Mex style place, this isn't the place for you.My favorites there are tacos de cabeza, barabacoa, asada, lengua y huaraches con asada. I haven't had anything here I didn't like.“
“Got the kids Chicken Quesadilla w/ fries and Chorizo Chimichanga. The portion sizes were great and this was the best chorizo I've ever had hands down. Every bite was packed with so much flavor and the green sauce was the perfect amount of sweetness and spice. This place is a MUST try. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Sadly, I was so busy eating I didn't bother to stop to take a picture.“
“It is our favorite restaurant, we come every week, the food is delicious, we always ask our waiter (Ramón) he gives us excellent service, we usually order (steak friend) and the dish meets our expectations, very good restaurant, highly recommended and very good price.“
“Service was good an very friendly. Just wish their was a place to sit an eat my food that's the only thing I dislike that their was no where to sitKid-friendliness: Not a very kid friendly place of environment where they are located drug addicts an home people around I won't let my kids go by them self“
“I got the “La Casita” Fajitas which included grilled steak, chicken, shrimp and mushrooms. On the side was flour tortillas, beans, mexican rice, guac, sour cream and pico. The service at La Casita was great and our waiter was very attentive. The food overall wasn’t quite that tasty overall. The salsa which came with free chips at the beginning was quite bland and didn’t have a lot of flavor. The sizzling plate of fajita meat had quite a lot more ratio of vegetables than it did meat. Overall the experience was nice but the food is just not worth going back for in my opinion.“
“Best pozole I have had in years!! I didn’t get our waiter’s name but he was really nice and friendly. The atmosphere is great because they are playing music loud enough to enjoy it but, not too loud that u can’t hear yourself. My husband got a Torta Hawaiana and he really liked it too. We also got a tres leches cake. Bread felt a little dry but the flavor was on point.“
“I love my friends here Marco and the rest of my friends was wrong about me because I have been there over two weeks I stop in to see my best friend s tonight always treat me with respect and kindness and always have the best tasting tacos I would go to no other place but this tacos stand love u “
“They do DoorDash now!!!!!! Ok don't judge me because I'm literally 4 minutes away from this place, but I'm so happy they will deliver!!!! They are in Brewstirs, the bar. I went for New Year's Eve and tried the Torta. Dude....... I snake ate that bitch. The whole thing. I just ordered door dash and I'm bout to snake eat this bitch too. To make a lonng mutha fucking story short. It's really good.“
“An unassuming Taco truck, parked in a convenience store parking lot. Great tacos, including the recently popular Birria style beef tacos with cheese and consome dipping sauce. Depending on which tacos you choose, the three taco minimum will only set you back $9-12. But be sure to tip the staff, who are the nicest folks.“
“Food is solid and the service is pretty good.Got the chimichangas and the meat quality was great, though wish I'd gotten a bit more guac for the price.Overall a great place to eat if you have a large party or are looking for Mexican around OSU.“
“Best chicken quesadilla in recent memory, possibly of all-time! Customer service was excellent. Ordering & check out, a breeze. Bonus points for presentation on my to-go order. Check out this local gem if you’re in the area. You’ll be glad you did!“
“Peak hours at this location are a bit rough. I would recommend online pick up -vs- standing in line for most orders in general. Too many times supplies have been 'out' for in-store customers but available for online orders. I also stopped going on weekends, too messy and chaotic. I've worked at Chipotle in 2 different states over the last several years, this specific location feels like they're not given the same support from district managers all the way to corporate. Employees are overly exhausted, line flow isn't smooth, and normal service priorities are overlooked and/or ignored. Not the fault of the employees whatsoever. They just need better stronger leadership examples.“
