“From the moment we made our reservation, we were treated to a hospitality and warmth sorely lacking in today's world. While we went at noon, the music and decor were as relaxing as an evening or even late- night event. Our server Simeon was professional and committed to make our meal a memorable one. At our request, he described different dishes, telling us what he recommended and what to expect. He was attentive without hovering. The food was as outstanding as was the service. While the shrimp toast appetizer, Wong's chicken, and Clay pot were delicious, beautifully prepared, we were overwhelmed by the presentation, taste, and experience of the coconut bread pudding with rum sauce. We will go again soon..“

“Driving through eastern Cincy, we saw the reviews and stopped in for dinner. The inside is small and simple, but the staff were so very pleasant and we had some of the best Asian food we've ever had. The cup of egg drop soup is generous, more like a bowl, and was very tasty. The veggies in the rice dishes were fresh and perfectly cooked - crisp and not overdone. It was a constant stream of people picking up take-out orders while we ate; seems they were filling these orders in 10-15 minutes. And best of all, the prices are very reasonable. Great experience, will come back.“

“Sichuan Place is a fantastic spot for authentic Chinese cuisine with flavors tailored to your spice preference. Whether you love bold, fiery heat or prefer something milder, they’ve got you covered. The Red Dry Chili Chicken is a standout, and the Sweet and Sour Pork ribs are children's favorite. Pepper Beef is always my favorite. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring your meal suits your taste. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Sichuan flavors!“

“The food and service are top notch. Got an amazing lunch plate of kung pao chicken. The fried rice is perfectly smoky, light and flavorful. Chicken cooked nicely with plentiful portions. The egg drop soup was legit - big pieces of egg and a lot of flavor. Had to deduct a few stars because even though I was sitting comfortably inside the restaurant, when the door opens it lets in a cold burst of air. Not good in the winter, but at least the food and service warmed me up. Definitely recommend though.“

“Grand Oriental Chinese Restaurant— BaldWhiteGuyReviews 🧑🦲🍜 Time flies, kids forget passports, and dads get a rare day off — which I immediately spent doing what any responsible parent would do: drag my son to a new restaurant and then reward him with lunch. 😅 He forgot his passport (top secret co-op stuff, apparently), so we met halfway-ish and let Yelp play help find a new place to try. That’s how we found Grand Oriental — a big, festive palace of American-Chinese comfort food and decorative bravado Grand Oriental 📍4800 Fields Ertel Rd, Cincinnati. Parking & Entrance Parking: angled, on a slight hill, and perfect for anyone who enjoys a little cardio while exiting their car. If you have equilibrium issues, bring a friend or a very dramatic cane. Walk the red carpet like you’re famous (or at least like you once were #Santa in the Christmas Program) and step into a dining room that screams “special occasion” louder than your drunk uncle at a wedding. 🎉✨ #WeSeeYou Decorations Huge space, lots of lanterns, and more faux-oriental flair than a Netflix period drama on a budget. The place looks like someone told Pinterest to go wild and then hired a very enthusiastic intern to execute it. If prom and homecoming had a love child, this would be the reception venue. Very Instagrammable — bring a filter and a dramatic pose. 📸🪩 They even have a golden throne #Seriously. The Wet Live Well They’ve got a big wet live well — yes, an actual aquarium of potential dinner guests. Do I think they fish out a crab and whisper “you’re up” before tossing him into a wok? Some call it fresh; others call it barbaric reality TV for crustaceans. Either way, the seafood looks like it just finished updating its LinkedIn. 🦀🐟😬 #FearFactor Bathroom Report Bathroom: shockingly clean and tastefully decorated. If the restroom is this tidy, you know the kitchen isn’t hiding any skeletons — just maybe a very well-behaved crab. 🚽✨ What We Ate 🍜 * Appetizer: Crab Rangoon — $6.99 Warm, creamy, and dangerously addictive. Came with two mystery sauces: one was sweet (dessert-adjacent and delightful), the other had a wasabi vibe that made my face do a small, respectful salute. I’m still not sure if the second sauce was wasabi or a tiny jar of regret, but it worked. 😋🔥 It was a surprise, no mention of sauces on the menu. (That I could find anyway). * Half-ling’s Meal: Sweet & Sour Chicken with Fried Rice — $11.99 Predictable in the best way. Comfort food for people who like their food to behave itself. The fried rice, however, was quietly excellent — the unsung hero of the table. 🍚👍 * My Choice: Hunan Beef with Fried Rice — $12.99 Hunan Beef is my yardstick. This one had a pleasant kick that made my nose run like it had opinions. Local Hunan still wins my heart #DragonInn, but this one is a solid contender. 🥩🌶️ Total Lunch Damage: $34.46 (waters included, because hydration is free and important) 💸 Final Thoughts (and the part where I pretend to be impartial) The Grand Oriental is a great spot for a special lunch or to impress guests who like their ambiance with a side of theatrical lighting. Staff were friendly and fast — service points for speed and smiles. Food was solid, comforting, and exactly what you expect from a good American-Chinese joint: familiar, warm, and occasionally surprising (looking at you, mystery sauce). #HotHot Final Score: 3 out of 5 Bald Heads 🧑🦲🧑🦲🧑🦲 Why I docked two Bald Heads: * Minus one for predictably (Boring) American-Chinese flavors — tasty, but not revolutionary. * Minus one for price — lunch felt a tad steep. Maybe you’re paying extra for the live well’s real estate and the decorative chandelier that’s clearly on a #FingerHut payment plan. 🧾💡#CheapOldMan Would I go back? Sure — for a special night, a prom afterparty, or if my son forgets something else important. Would I drive across town just for their Hunan? Not this time. 👎 Have you been here? “Absolutely the best customer service. The food is also worth mentioning first! My order came out in less than 4 minutes during peak lunchtime. This restaurant has been consistently one of my favorites for over 20 years. You cannot go wrong here. Sichuan noodles 🍜 are amazing, the egg rolls are delicious. The lunch specials are great too! My Absolute favorite dish is their Tom Kah Kai Soup with noodles!“

“I am very critical of where I buy Chinese food. I have to say, Golden Chen was the best I have had in years. Even the reheated leftovers were mouth watering and making me wish I had more.
I don't have any pictures, I enjoyed my food too thoroughly to bother. But I had an egg roll and Chicken with Broccoli.
The egg roll was freshly made, crunchy yet soft on the inside and filled with a delicious variety of vegetables.
The Chicken and Broccoli was juicy and succulent. There was enough chicken for you to have a piece with every bite. The broccoli was perfectly steamed and abundant. There were sliced carrots that soaked up the sauce. Now the sauce 😋!!!! The perfect amount of, what seemed like, extra sauce that coated everything and was so packed with an amazing taste. Can I get this separately? Oh, so freaking good.
Now the last thing.... And this made the meal top notch, was the fried rice. A light brown in color full of peas, onions and small carrot pieces. It wasn't dry like so many other restaurants and had a flavor that was out of this world.
Combining all of these amazing foods.... Fantastic 😍
Thank you Golden Chen. I now have a favorite Chinese takeout in the Eastgate area that I will frequent.“

“Stopped for lunch last Thursday. Restaurant was only half full so we assumed we would have a quick meal and move on. Didn't happen. The kitchen must be short handed as it took forever for our food to arrive. Our waitress must have been new as we both ordered one of the lunch specials. She brought my wife's appetizer but didn't bring my soup. I assumed she was going back to get it. Didn't see her again until she brought out both of our entrees. She asked it she could get anything else. I mentioned she never brought my soup appetizer. She apologized and went back to get it. I was half way through my entree before the soup ever arrived. How long does it take to ladle a cup of soup? No one ever came back to ask if I wanted a second glass of wine. Service at lunch isn't what it used to be, although the food was still as good as always.“

“Went for my first time tonight, very happy. Lady who fixed my order was very kind and patient as I got myself together after braving the cold weather, and trying find my glasses, haha. I got noodles, sesame chicken, and coconut shrimp. All of it was hot and tasted good. Menu seems like tradition Chinese-American restaurant favorites, and is very reasonably priced for the portions. I got enough food for 2 dinners, and spent less, before tip, than I do at most places for 1 meal. The dining area was very clean and cozy. Overall, I'm very glad I stopped in and will be back!“

“I haven't really had Chinese food in my life, so I really wanted to try what they had to offer and I was blown away. For the small bites menu, the cheese rangoon and spring rolls were absolutely amazing, the flavor was great, the crunch was wonderful and it complimented the sweet & sour sauce perfectly. I had gotten the Beef Lo Mein and my girlfriend had the orange chicken. For my very first experience, it was so good and exceeded all of my expectations. The portions were much larger than I expected and it's great for the price. Overall, I would absolutely come here again and try more of what Yummy Bowl has to offer.“

“This is a classic family-run Chinese restaurant. It is primarily for take-out, as accommodations for dining in are rather sparse, and their website does not show an option for delivery... but everything that I have ordered there has been good - I particularly enjoy their hot and sour soup.“

“Always have a good selection but thos particular time we went, the food was Very dry and orange chicken was mushy. They have more veggies than meat in the entrees that include veggies. Portion size is getting smaller as the price increases. My family goes here alot. Overall their food us great!“

“Not all Chinese restaurants are the same. And each one has its specialities. This one does a very good job in what they specialize, which is Guangdong/Shanghai style dish. What that means is that their speciality is not Sichuanese. So if you go there, you should order Guangdong/Shanghai food not Sichuanese. They do a phenomenal job with that dish.
You should get:
- Shanghai Style Eggplants
- Moo Goo Gai
- Sizzling Seafood Combination
(Any seafood menu was good from my experience)
These are not the best:
- Mapa Tofu or Double Cooked Pork (they are Sichuanese dish)“

“100% will be back -- Delicious food, good portions, good price.
Had the Hot & Spicy Chicken special with egg roll.
Very limited seating, they definitely do most of their business through carry out. I will be back, but their restaurant was clean and comfortable for the brief time I was in there.“

“Any time I go to kings island I get Panda Express. It's always been so good. This time was a little different, each person working the line gave different proportions. For example the lady in front of me got very slim rice and only a few pieces of chicken, I got all rice and bits of chicken and the kids behind me looked like they could feed a family of 6. Each of us was served by a different person. Everything was amazing.“

“Ordered from them for the first time, the picture of what I ordered didn't have onions in it, so I asked them to add onions if they didn't mind. Not only did they add onions, they also sent a side container of wok fried onions and green onions in brown sauce. That is exactly how you get a customer for life! <3“

“I’ve had my fair share of “Chinese” food in the US and this House Lunch Special is probably one of the few that comes close to being authentic Chinese fried rice.
Now, this was also had some American influence but the addition of a specific kind of beef and green vegetables reminded me of the true fried rice experience like I had in China“

“This is our go to Chinese carry out in the area. Not the most convenient location for us, but it's the best tasting we've tried over the years. The standard Chinese menu is available and they are usually very quick with the food. Not a place I'd want to dine in as the atmosphere is kind of bleak, but for take out.“

“Phenomenal.Wanted spicy noodles to help with my hangover, went in-person and there wasn’t exactly what I was looking for but the cashier was very polite and told me to order what sounded good and they would make it spicy for me. Got chicken lo mein (spicy), an order of 8 steamed pork dumplings with dipping sauce, and an egg roll; all amazing. The chicken lo mein was a small order but still had a lot in it. Ready in about 5 minutes, granted there was only 1 other customer there at the time. $19 total bill for all 3 items.“

I recommend anyone taking a trip to the zoo to check out Ninja grill afterwards for lunch!“

“A really nice little place to order take out from or dine in at! Found this place based on reviews in the area, was greeted by a friendly smile and seated promptly, seating IS limited but it seems most people prefer carry out at this particular location. Restaurant was clean and tidy. Menu was very forward no complaints from me although I think it would be beneficial to show pictures of one dish from each category to help people not familiar with this type of food. Food price and serving portions were worth every penny, food was really good I would have said great but I think they are cooking on the side of caution and not really packing in the optimal amount of flavor they could be and also skimping on the heat. I had the Mein Fun and Orange Chicken both dishes were well presented and again good serving portions, shrimp in my Mein Fun was thoroughly cooked and did not have any odor to it (this is something I personally look out for and just a general note) I also got 1 pork egg roll, it was very crispy on the outside but not overcooked and hot on this inside (great job!! They have their fryer set right and it shows!!!)
My only real complaint is if I order the combination bowl I expect beef chicken and shrimp (this was not the case at this location) and not having a fountain machine means I was plagued with $1.25 canned soda.
Overall I would recommend this to friends or family in the area and look forward to eating here again and again“
