“Chef Shack: Where Burgers Ascend to Culinary NirvanaForget everything you thought you knew about hamburgers. Chef Shack isn't here to play patty-cake with mediocrity. They're here to rewrite the burger rulebook, and let me tell you, they've penned a masterpiece. My recent visit was a revelation, a symphony of flavor that left me wanting more (and maybe a nap – these burgers are that good).First, the star of the show: the patty. Crafted with a blend of premium cuts, it's juicy without being greasy, cooked to a perfect medium-rare that showcases the inherent deliciousness of the meat. Each bite bursts with rich, savory satisfaction. No dry, flavorless hockey pucks here – Chef Shack understands the importance of a well-executed patty. But the patty is just the foundation. The toppings? A chorus of culinary brilliance. From the tangy bite of house-pickled red onions to the creamy indulgence of their signature Shack Sauce, each element elevates the burger to new heights. They offer creative and classic options, ensuring there's a perfect flavor combination for every palate. My personal favorite? The "Truffle Shuffle," a decadent masterpiece featuring truffle aioli, melted Gruyère cheese, and sautéed wild mushrooms. It's a luxurious explosion of savory and earthy notes that had me rethinking everything I thought I knew about burgers. The buns deserve a special mention. Soft yet sturdy, they cradle the burger without collapsing under the weight of deliciousness. They're toasted to a perfect golden brown, adding a hint of buttery warmth to every mouthful. It's the little details that truly elevate Chef Shack's offering; they haven't overlooked a single element. And let's not forget the sides. Crispy, golden French fries, hand-cut and cooked to perfection, are the ideal accompaniment. They're the perfect balance of salty and satisfying, a delightful counterpoint to the richness of the burger.Chef Shack isn't just about the food, though. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a touch of industrial chic. The service is friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable lingering, savoring the aftertaste of a truly exceptional burger. In conclusion, Chef Shack isn't just another burger joint. It's a destination for those who appreciate the art of the burger, where every element is meticulously crafted to create an unforgettable culinary experience. It's a symphony of flavor, a testament to what a well-made burger can truly be. So, do yourself a favor and head to Chef Shack. Your taste buds will thank you.“
“The environment is fun and friendly. The food is great. They take care of the elderly very well and treat everyone with respect. They also have a great craft beer selection that changes every week or so. There is not a lot of parking, so carpool and there is a lot close by, across the street on the corner of Union Street. I've been to every restaurant in the city and go back to this one.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp leading to dining room. No automatic doors though.“
“I was in the area for work and figured I'd stop in Granville for a sandwich. Alfie's did not disappoint! I entered with a wild look on my face not sure how or what to order and the gentleman up front guided me through their options and was so darn friendly! So personable that I felt like we were friends by the time I left. Plenty of seats outside and it was such a nice day, I settled in a shady bench near the street to people watch. I'll have to come back!“
“Pretzel bites seemed a bit bland. Deep fried pepperoni could've cooked a bit longer, was not very crunchy. Bologna sandwich was fantastic with the caramelized onions, tomatoe, lettuce, cheese and mayo. White Cheddar Mac'N'Cheese very flavorful and hot to the last bite. Pizza sub was not horrible, but also seemed bland. Fries were good. First time here, overall a great experience, will be back to test the vast menu!“
“We really enjoyed this place, it's a local Mom and Pop that recently changed hands. The new owners are committed to keeping the restaurant the same as it has been for years. The food is good and the service is fantastic. We really like how the owners take time to make sure things are right.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly menu“
“Great food, with a decent choice of food options. A decent fried bologna sandwich is hard to find sometimes, and Crossroads version didn't disappoint! Our waitress was friendly, polite, and attentive to drink refills. Our party of 4's food orders were made to order as requested, with no mistakes, and with a minimal time from ordering to the arrival of the food. I would definitely eat here again!“
“I have went there on three separate occasions and all different times, I ordered something I haven't got before (aside from the chicken Alfredo lol). Fantastic food, fantastic service. Place is truly a hidden gem right on 158. From the chicken alfredo to the Philly steak sub, to starters like the BPH Bombs to the Mac and Cheese bites. Everything has been excellent made with fresh ingredients! All three times, I ordered takeout but the atmosphere is awesome and the service seems very responsive and friendly. GO HERE, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!“
“Several years ago I had a buffalo chicken pizza here and it was (sadly) kind of dry. When I went back I asked them for a buffalo chicken pizza with extra sauce-super saucy- and they did an amazing job. It was very sloppy and delicious. Not the normal but they did what I asked and it was exactly what I love. Thank you ?“
“Are you sick of paying $15! for a hamburger? This place is for you. It’s been an institution for over 50 years. It features diner-style food with a full-bar.Food is delicious and prices are cheap. The kitchen can take awhile if they’re super busy. Won’t impress foodies, but a solid Midwest meal.My only boomer comment: the jukebox is extremely loud!“
“Had an early dinner this evening. As expected the food was excellent. I had the cheese ravioli special and my dining partner had chicken and broccoli. Fun creative drinks. And as usual Nate makes everyone feel like they are the most important person he has met today. No room for improvement!“
“Wow, this is one of my favorites. I went there for the first time, and it was amazing. The people just treated you like they've known you forever. The food was so good. I can't wait to go back. This is home cooking at its best.Kid-friendliness: Their grand babies and another little boy were there. I think it's very family-friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp instead of stairs.“
“Love coming here. Is one of the highlights for me every time I'm in town. The alcohol milkshakes are great with or without alcohol; I've tried every flavor. The foods I've had are just as good. I also like the set up of getting drinks. Once you get the hang of it, it's great. The fact that we can mix and match, I wish more bars had this set up.“
“Didn’t have food, came for a drink. Had the best time with Shauna! And Lauren and Kaylani! They were such fun and so accommodating. Playing all the songs my friend wanted to sing to!. Best pre Xmas eve ever! Best time ever at this place!“
“We stopped in on a Sunday evening after 8:30 pm. We passed several restaurants that were already closed so we were hoping Champs was open. We were relieved as we approached and saw a couple dozen cars in the parking lot. We've always ordered pizza and we love their pizza, but tonight we were in the mood for something different. We ordered the Fish & Chips and the Asian pecan salad. We split both meals and had plenty of food. Service was really fast and friendly. We were very impressed with the Fish & Chips, it was hot, perfect amount of batter and very crispy. The fries were also crispy, just the way I like them. We were very impressed with the Asian pecan salad, huge portion with the perfect amount of toppings, very tasty. We now have a reason to go to Champs when we're in the mood for something other than their fabulous pizza.“
“Dined here yesterday for breakfast for the first time. Very cute place and server was super nice and helpful! I gave food a 4 star rating because I would have preferred my biscuits (biscuits and gravy) to be cooked a bit more to be less "bready", and my hash Browns to be crisper. That is MY personal preference and you may be fine the way they were cooked!“
“My wife and I moved to Baltimore about a year ago and went for the first time at lunch. I had the chicken ranch wrap and my wife had the club with wheat bread. The servers were very friendly and the service was quick. We both enjoyed the food. I would have preferred a little more veggies in my wrap, it was mostly meat and cheese. We love the atmosphere of a small restaurant with the exposed brick and will be going back.“
“My second time here tonight. I met Bob and his daughter Jennifer. Also met some locals who were FANTASTIC and it's a guarantee I'll be back. I wish this was a local bar for me. Until the next time I'm back, thanks to every single one of y'all. You were amazing. I'll be back as soon as I can. MMMUUUUAAAHHHH! Love you guys. Thanks for a killer memory :) This is my new home away from home.“
