“Patina Porch has become one of our absolute favorite places. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is airy, welcoming, and full of charm. The staff are just as warm as the space itself. They’re always happy to adjust things to your tastes, and as someone with a gluten allergy, it means a lot that they genuinely take it seriously and go out of their way to make sure I’m taken care of. My fiancé Chad and I also love browsing the beautiful antiques, upcycled items, and plants. It makes every visit feel like a little experience beyond just stopping in. Over time, the staff have become friends, and we’ve even met new friends along the way while spending time there. It’s also one of our favorite places to bring people who are visiting or to introduce friends to, because we know they’ll love it as much as we do. We also love their trivia nights on Thursdays. It’s always a fun reason to come back and spend time there. Patina Porch is one of those rare places that feels both special and comfortable at the same time, and we’re always happy to come back.“

“My daughter and I came in this afternoon after volunteering for the iron man we were starving… we sat at another downtown restaurant for over 20 minutes being completely ignored while everyone around us was being served so we ended up leaving and coming here… we sat outside a women greeted us at the door apologized and said there was only one server outside so it might be a minute.. which was amazing considering the last place we were at. We had a guy server can’t remember his name but he was great.. even though we did wait for a minute it was okay because we were acknowledged and not ignored. Server was super friendly and nice the food was DELICIOUS! 10/10 experience, we will definitely be back!“

“My teenagers and I were in town for a softball tournament and found this gem Friday morning for breakfast . The food was great and the price was super! The owner and staff were so kind to us and very welcoming . We returned Saturday for lunch and again a great experience . Their food is so good ! Hopefully I can return there again for a visit ! “They were having a burgers on the patio Wednesday which was kind of like a cook out. It was nice but just a little confusing as to where to pay and you had to get in a different line if you wanted to get anything other than a burger but I would do it again. Good music, nice“

“Fairly new bar in downtown Port Clinton and what a pleasant addition to Port Clinton. They have a tap wall located just as you walk in and this wall has several craft beer and cocktails on tap and ready for you to pour yourself. They also have domestic beers at the bar along with what looked like a fully stocked bar. They also have pool tables, dart boards, cornhole and pinball machines for something else to do while you grab a drink. We were there on a busy Saturday afternoon while a festival was going on and with the tap wall there was never a wait to get a drink. They also had live music on a small stage that added to our enjoyment. I plan on going back this summer when I’m back in the area and you should definitely check it out if you are anywhere nearby.“

“This is a fun hometown bar. I arrived around opening and it was fun observing the regulars coming into the lounge. The bartender knew them by name, and they’d clearly shared dozens of stories together over years. It was very wholesome and gives a real vibe of being welcome and accepted. It reminded me of Cheers but in the Midwest.

There are a few TVs with usual sports and other programs to view while sipping your drink or eating some well-made food. The selections are pretty varied with a few taps and a fridge full of bottled consumables.

This is the type of place that you want to hang around in for hours. There are some bars and lounges that are skeevy or shady or just give off a bad aura. But Excuses Lounge is definitely a place where you’ll meet new friends and create lasting memories with old friends and family.“

Small City Taphouse completely blew us away. The space is massive — high ceilings, big open layout, really cool atmosphere that feels lively without being overwhelming. The kind of place you just want to hang out in.
The tap list is excellent with so many great beers to choose from, and the fun names make it even more enjoyable to browse. But the food is what truly set this place apart — specifically the noodles. Hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. Rich, flavorful, and absolutely satisfying.
As a vegetarian, I was so happy with the options available — nothing felt like an afterthought, and we left completely satisfied both times. Yes, both times — we loved it so much we came back the same day for round two.
If you’re in Sandusky, don’t skip this place. It’s a genuine gem.“

“We were in the area for 4 days. Cleats was the only restaurant we visited twice! Their outdoor patio is nice with a marina view. The appetizers were great. Foods were a little lackluster. The frozen cocktails were delicious. The second visit, our 4 kids were whiny, loud, and impatient. Our waitress (wish I would have got her name) was so kind and patient with us. She got mom and dad’s drinks out right away with waters for all the kids. Brought coloring pages and crayons. Took the babies binky and rinsed it off after it fell to the ground and brought it back wrapped in a napkin. She was very attentive and kind to our family. :)“

“JaxBar has the perfect atmosphere if you’re looking for a quaint local experience. The bar itself is small in size making it easy to be a part of the conversation. Although it’s small it contains plenty of character and characters. Proper drinks from friendly bartenders surrounded by plenty of locals that seemed to become your friends as soon as you walk in. Jax is always doing something to help their local community as well. Another great reason to visit.“

“We visited last week while renting a condo about a block from Tony's for a week. We found this place by accident, just strolling thru town. Our son wanted wings and it was the first place with a menu our family of 4 could all agree upon. We came in from the back and up the patio to enter and weren't sure what to put expect. We were impressed with the interior and that it was the first restaurant (4th overall in Sandusky on our trip) with an adequate cooling system. We were all impressed with our choices. My husband had the Greek cheesesteak and loved it. I couldn't decide between the mac & cheese hot dog or the French Dip. Our server JP a suggested the French Dip and I have to say it is one of the best I've ever had. I think their seasoned mayo is what makes their sandwiches! The daughter and I both got the mac and cheese. She said it was the best mac & cheese she's ever had and she's never impressed. If we are ever back in Sandusky, we're definitely coming back!“
