Based on the reviews, Izzy's - Forest Park offers delicious food and friendly, amazing service. The smell and warm welcome greet customers from the moment they open the door. The Ruben is a standout, described as great and worth it, even for those with a sensitive mouth. The potato cakes and potato pancakes are also tasty and generous sized. For steak, the blackened filet is considered the best in town, cooked to perfection. The ribeye was not as thick as expected and not the quality of beef expected compared to other top steak houses. The beef bourginon was great. Sides like creamed spinach and apple sauce are mentioned, and the cheesecake is a perfect NY style. The place is clean as a pin, and the ambiance still feels like Izzy's but shinier after a remodel. Customers look forward to returning for another Ruben, potato cakes, and great service.
