“Went here last night for the first time, had never even heard of it before. But we were driving down the highway and it stood out to us! Got sat immediately around 7:30 on a Sunday. Our waitress Angel was very knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant and informed us on the menu as well! Service was excellent. We started with the crab spinach dip and it was phenomenal! Then for my entree I got the bacon wrapped jalapeño shrimp over dirty rice and it was exceptional! My fiancé got the seafood pasta (dont remember the exact name) and he says it was great as well. My strawberry margarita was tall and delicious. We had a wonderful experience and will be making our way back!“

“1st time trying this place - not from the area so I was excited to see this as an option.
This food is amazing. I got the grilled chicken and brown rice as a substitute for rice and beans that I originally ordered (they were out) with plantains. Ma'am at the register (I presume owner?) was pleasant and I am grateful. Their ginger juice is tasty too!
Only gave it 4 stars because they were out of Cabbage and rice and beans - I will get it the next time Im down here. Otherwise would have definitely been 5🌟

“We celebrated our 10-year olds birthday at Jag’s last night. The staff went above and beyond to make sure it was a night our family will not forget. It started with us arriving to a lovely set table with a bouquet of balloons for the birthday boy. He was wished happy birthday from what seemed like the entire staff. He definitely felt special. The Chef even came out from the kitchen, wished our son a happy birthday, and made sure our food was delicious. Our server was Danielle and she was a rockstar. I can not say enough amazing things about her. Request her EVERY TIME YOU DINE AT JAG’S!!!! She was helpful, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Thank YOU Jag’s staff, for providing our son with his best birthday yet.“

“RUN-DON'T WALK! The food was beyond great, and the server was the most friendly Jamaican restaurant cashier I have ever met. I've eaten Jamaican food my entire life all across the country and have I yet encountered such a friendly staff. The oxtails were perfectly cooked. The rice and peas were moist and flavorful. The cabbage had hints of pepper and perfectly seasoned. The beef Patty, which to me was my favorite part of the meal was made fresh and you can tell! The price was a bit steep. But I knew that going in, because Jamaican restaurants nowadays are fairly expensive, but every bite was worth every dollar.“

“We rented the party room for an open house celebrating 60th birthday party and over the course of 4 hours had 100 people show up. We had a variety of appetizers and all was delicious. We had two waiters, Julia and Davey which work their butts off to take care of all of us. Great night with family and friends.“

“Food is tasty, it’s hard to find a good restaurant with quality food. My only complaint is the fortune cookies, they used to have normal fun fortunes in them. Now it’s like all ads. I don’t want to open a cookie to be asked to scan a qr code to download an app. It’s ridiculous. I get enough of that on my phone, I don’t need it coming from my food. “Saturday is marketed as R&Brunch (nice play on words). A DJ is there playing R&B music. The DJ doesn’t talk or hype the audience, she just provides R&B not piped in from a prerecorded “mixtape” CD. The music creates a groove/atmosphere that I enjoy. It’s a grown folk feel. Though it would appeal to a nice range—college students and your parents would also enjoy. I was happy with my meal. It was really good! I enjoyed my dining experience. To be clear, I am one who can be NOT satisfied with ALL the little things and chock it up to an awful experience to which I would not return. I believe the cuisine is very well done. It’s not just mass-produced soul food or comfort food that no longer has the passion and love from the chef’s vision. I’ve experienced similar restaurants in other bigger cities and this is something Cincinnati just does NOT have enough of. I am excited the chef is investing in the restaurant and I cheer her and its success.“
