“Excellent, excellent excellent!! I haven't been to Frisch's in a very long time and I know the chain is struggling as open times and drive through changes each week. This is a long ago favorite restaurant of mine and I recently moved back to the area after a 30 year absence. I am saddened to see it struggling. But yet stay the good and friendly place of my memories. Food was good, service kind and friendly and facility clean well maintained inside and out. Kudos to all who work hard to obtain this quality.“

“Our first visit here yesterday, the server was I had a little bit of attitude to begin with but ended positive.

Today however we had Dawn who was just happy and energetic and an amazing service throughout the entire visit. She was so good I actually took 20% on top of the $50 gift card that I bought with our meal to make sure she had a really nice tip for the day.

“First time at Manhattan's. Really came for the Reuben but ended up getting their Carnegie. The sandwich was big and was split between the two of us. Started off with the French Onion soup. Best I've had in Toledo. The corned beef and pastrami on the sandwich was generous and delicious. The pickled green tomato was a crunchy surprise. Free parking right next door was a bonus. Will definitely be headed back soon to try their Reuben.“

“We had a birthday party here with about 30 people. Kim was so helpful and kind with the planning process. On the actually night, all our guests had delicious meals with fast service. Our waitresses were efficient and friendly the whole time. All the food is amazing. I've never had a bad meal here. This has become one of my favorite places to eat downtown. “Eclectic decor in a super cool old building that was the first building in Downtown Toledo to be wired for electricity! Wow we sent our compliments to the chef, everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Large menu with butterburgers, fried seafood items, sandwiches and a variety of sides including cheese curds, pretzel bites, steamed veggies etc.
Frozen custard has its own menu too - as is, in a mixer, float etc. Had a small 2- toppings - too much for me and very sweet.

Pricing got confusing for me but was explained patiently by an employee - burger and fries have a combined price, prime sides have additional charge, drink has a price. Very friendly staff.
After ordering, got a number for our table and food was brought to us.
We liked the food. Wisconsin burger was not salty, not heavy/greasy. Fish sandwich too. Self-serve fountain drinks - they have their brand rootbeer but tasted similar to other brands.

“Chef Erika Rapp never disappoints and every visit to this wonderful restaurant reaffirms it as my favorite place for our Anniversary dinner. I look forward to the coconut, chorizo and sweet potato steamed muscles that she has had on the fall menu consistently for the last 5 years. And being Gluten Free the care Chef Erika takes to offer many delicious options, means I can always find the perfect meal. Last night the fish dish was perfection, from the perfectly cooked cod, to the savory and slightly sweet delicata squash puree to the textural elements of the crisp broccolini and the crunch of the pomagranate and pepitas. And the dish paired wonderfully with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc. After enjoying a basket of gluten free pop-overs (another favorite treat) and appetizers I was stuffed, but the dish was too delicious to leave even one bite on the plate. Our server Miranda was fabulous. Attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and added so much to our dining experience. I highly reccommend.“

“Hands down, my favorite restaurant ever. You just can't go wrong with a Big Boy, with tarter sauce on it, and a side of crispy fries. I have ordered the same thing every time since I was a kid. If I see a Big Boy while out doing things, I make it a point to stop in for a bite. They never disappoint. The service is always fast and friendly, and the prices are right!

“We visited on a Monday in mid-April 2025 for lunch.

This was a typical zoo restaurant. It's a grab and go. There are prepared foods on the side, both hot and cold. There are customizable stuff behind the counter and made to order. Expect it to be overpriced.

The loaded mac and cheese wasn't bad. The young lady behind the counter was making it for us when an older man (who I assume to be a manager) walked by and told her she was putting TOO much toppings in the mac and cheese so she stopped mid scoop with the bacon.

We got chicken tenders and fries which were both fine. We also got the prepared cobb salad. The lettuce on top looked fine but once we opened it and dug deeper, the lettuce were the harder and thicker stalks and more discolored. We still ate it because we were hungry but it did not look super fresh or maybe the salad sat too long in the back before packing it.

We also got the chocolate pudding and the jello. We all agreed the gummy worms in the chocolate pudding had a weird taste and off putting. The texture was also strange and unfortunately a lot of the flavor had leached into the pudding. The jello however was fine and those gummies were normal.

Condiments you grab on your own, self serve.

Cashier was nice and asked if we had membership, which we did and gave us the additional discount. It's nice when they ask because I forget sometimes with all the craziness going on.

The restaurant it self wasn't packed but there were 4 or 5 other groups in there with us. The place also was very clean and new looking. Not sure when this placed opened or renovated but it was very clean and modern. There are no tables to eat inside so we went outside to find a seat. There were no tables in the Kid's play place or neighborhood area so we walked around to where the hippo statues were to eat.

Even though the zoo website says no outside food, we were never searched and I swear almost EVERYONE we saw at the picnic tables had brought food in. Maybe it was locals who knew vs tourist. You can always leave and eat food in your car but it's just so inconvenient.“

She said so sorry we don’t have milk shakes so I just ordered a root beer to drink while everyone ate (it’s ok though) our sweet waitress whipped up milk with ice whip cream and made me a milk shake with whipped cream and chocolate sauce on top. “First timers and have to say, definitely a hidden gem! Started with French onion soup and huge, hand battered mushrooms. Long Island Iced Tea was awesome. Crazy Memphis style chicken sandwich with honey barbecue sauce and fries was my son’s choice. Hubby had a basic burger and fries. I chose the patty melt and tater tots. Nice that for those who ordered pop, that a pitcher is brought to the table for refills. Staff is attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!“
