“Was doing a little Google research about Ohio's best restaurants and stumbled across Schmucker's. Was going to a Bengals game and decided to make a detour on the way down from Canada. Shmucker's is everything I expected and more. Amazing retro diner atmosphere that is authentic and original. Almost like walking back in time. It was packed when we arrived just after 1pm but we were able to get a seat at the bar which would have been my choice anyway. They have old school stools that really makes you feel the diner experience.I ordered a hot dog and a burger with chips. The g.f. ordered the burger with fries. Everything was amazing, great dinner homestyle smash burger which paired perfectly with the hot dog. Had a few of the g.f.'s fries. They were fresh cut and delicious.Best part about the meal was the pie (which is what they are famous for). I ordered the Buckeye pie which was amazing. Great crust, custard and cream topping plus the Buckeyes finishing it off. Had a bit of the g.f.'s banana cream pie and it was great too. Almost ordered a second slice.Can wait to head back sometime just wish it wasn't 5 hours away from Canada.“

“I love Coopers Hawk! My girlfriends and I go there probably 3-4 times a month. We have always had great food and service. Lately we have been sitting at the bar and let’s just say the service is not what you get at a table. Took 3 hrs for them to remove dirty dishes from the people that sat there before us. We had to move it out of our way so they could serve us. But the bartender didn’t take the dirty plates, even after bring us out new food!The manager came behind the bar smiled and walked right past the dirty plates pile as well ?. I have bartended and served the majority of my life and I couldn’t believe it. We have been back since then and it seems like the bartender’s are torn between getting server drink orders and taking care of the guests sitting at the bar. 2 bartenders taking care of the servers orders and we had to keep flagging someone down to get a drink and food, silverware. I am hopeful new training or procedures for the bar area will fix this one issue. Otherwise I love this place!“

The dining room was close to full, the wait staff were running non stop, the kitchen staff were handing orders out the one right after the other. The staff maintain continued with smiles on their faces and made sure each customer was treated kindly. The food was the best . In a time when restaurants our struggling to keep staff and the level of professionalism is out the window, we so appreciated Brenda's employees. Tator tots were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Yum! Service was excellent.. Cathy was a friendly prompt server with great follow up throughout our time there. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the Mexican food while I was looking at the menu. They have eggs and chorizo, huevos rancheros, migas, etc. The guys sitting behind me ordered the eggs and chorizo and couldn't stop talking about how great it was. I had to spin around and take a look. I asked them if they come to the place very often and they affirmed they're there every Saturday. “It has been awhile since I've been to a waffle house, about a year, and almost 2 years for this location. The eggs and hash browns were great. But the waffles have changed. They are the same diameter, but only half as thick. They have small indents (instead of the large ones). They are not crispy (almost like a pancake).I drove about an hour and a half to come here (I live north of Detroit). I will have to try a different location to see if they changed the waffle also“
“Thank God I looked at the reviews otherwise I would have never known that this restaurant was in the hotel. While waiting for the rest of our party which was a little time The staff never really stopped to see if we wanted an appetizer or anything so we had to flag them down for that. The spinach and artichoke dip was really good after we sent it back to get heated up. The entrees were really good the steak was cooked great the chicken was crispy but moist on the inside and the sauce with the chicken was great overall the food was a positive experience. My main complaints were the wait times we had to wait a long time for our food we had to wait a long time to get our bill cashed out we had the wait for refills on their drinks.“

We had one waitress, Miranda, for our party of 14. She was very attentive to our group, and had a great personality. Chicken tenders weren't very good at all, But that's most coney islands for chicken strips. Waitresses weren't very friendly. Seemed annoyed the entire time. But over all food was great! It was an experience, not a performance. We were totally immersed. We felt absolutely transported into another era. At one point, the trombonist sauntered through the cafe as he played ---so fun. We only had drinks, and the prices were very reasonable. We had the feeling that a lot of the people there were regulars. We'd rather listen to live local music than go to a big concert.
