“My wife and I had dinner at Benchmark for my 80th birthday last night. It was wonderful! Our waiter, Josh, was professional and friendly. The food, lobster tail and 8 oz filet, asparagus side, was cooked just right and superb. We got a free Dubai chocolate tiramisu for dessert, which was delectable. Benchmark has generally been consistently good, with great service, and this was no exception.“

“Eclectic decor in a super cool old building that was the first building in Downtown Toledo to be wired for electricity! Wow we sent our compliments to the chef, everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. “My boyfriend and I visited J. Alexander’s for the first time this Saturday evening. We had a reservation for 6 and were seated around 6:05, after checking in at 5:50. The young women at the hostess stand were extremely polite and friendly. The atmosphere inside the place is great. It’s quite dark, but I personally enjoy that. It was packed of course, being a Saturday night, but it didn’t feel claustrophobic. I think it’s cool that guests can look into the kitchen and see the cooks at work, although we were seated away from that section of the restaurant. After being seated, our waiter, Donny H., soon came by. He politely introduced himself and got us our drinks. My boyfriend and I are both pretty quiet people. Neither of us had questions about the menu and we had no requests for him throughout the meal. Even though he didn’t have much to work with, Don still did great with us!! Both of us enjoyed our food. I got the rotisserie chicken with smashed potatoes. For some reason, I didn’t realize it would come as a whole rotisserie chicken LOL. I kind of thought it would be cut up, but that’s definitely user error. The chicken was very tender and pretty easy to cut up on my own. While we were eating, I noticed that all of the wait staff seem to have excellent customer service skills. A few different waiters came by our table to clear plates, bring out our appetizer, etc. Every single one of them was as kind and gracious to as Don was, even though they weren’t getting tipped from us. I think that’s pretty rare to find. At the end of the service, Don even surprised us with carrot cake for free because it was our first time visiting. It was very kind of him. Maybe it’s just something he does to boost his tips, but hey, I respect the hustle!! And the carrot cake was dang good, even after taking it home and having it cold!! Overall a great experience. I’d definitely love to come back at some point even though it’s a bit of a drive for us.“

“Chef Erika Rapp never disappoints and every visit to this wonderful restaurant reaffirms it as my favorite place for our Anniversary dinner. I look forward to the coconut, chorizo and sweet potato steamed muscles that she has had on the fall menu consistently for the last 5 years. And being Gluten Free the care Chef Erika takes to offer many delicious options, means I can always find the perfect meal. Last night the fish dish was perfection, from the perfectly cooked cod, to the savory and slightly sweet delicata squash puree to the textural elements of the crisp broccolini and the crunch of the pomagranate and pepitas. And the dish paired wonderfully with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc. After enjoying a basket of gluten free pop-overs (another favorite treat) and appetizers I was stuffed, but the dish was too delicious to leave even one bite on the plate. Our server Miranda was fabulous. Attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and added so much to our dining experience. I highly reccommend.“

“After several of our acquaintances committed on the quality of the food (ie home cooking) at the Briarfield we thought we give it a try! Arrived around noon, and place was almost full. Pleasant atmosphere, clean and sanitary. Menu had an extremely large selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Next time I’ll capture and post menu. They had specials posted (ss pictures). We had bacon, eggs, toast and home fries and a Farmers Omelet with hash browns. Both were excellent , note farmers omelet comes with sausage gravy mine was pictured without. Scrumptious food and pleasant wait staff, conveniently located on Briarfield Blvd near I-475.“

“I just moved to Sylvania and I came to VI and tried the pizza. I wasn’t expecting much and it was way above my expectations. I then tried the smash burger next. Again, it was way above my expectations. It was one of the best smash burgers I had. Taylor who is very friendly and informative every time I come in, recommended the Cuban. Which I tried that next and it was amazing. I have had it 4 times now and it’s the best Cuban I’ve ever had. I also learned they smoke their own meats which you can tell immediately. I met Tony the kitchen manager and he actually takes pride in his job and cares about the customers. Which this day and age is completely surprising and almost extinct from the workplace. Everyone is nice and welcoming. All the waitresses are hot. Food is great. Everyone is nice and friendly including the clientele. If you like pizza come here. Food is Yummy. The custard is good!!! Check the freezer in the lobby for pints of previous flavors of the day.

“Jefferson Express is a great place to eat breakfast it’s located in Toledo, Ohio. The food is very good, the service is great and the atmosphere is nice and friendly. My hat off to the cook. I do recommend to try it out, please don’t let the outside of the place stop you from going inside to get a great meal. “Hands down, my favorite restaurant ever. You just can't go wrong with a Big Boy, with tarter sauce on it, and a side of crispy fries. I have ordered the same thing every time since I was a kid. If I see a Big Boy while out doing things, I make it a point to stop in for a bite. They never disappoint. The service is always fast and friendly, and the prices are right!

“We visited on a Monday in mid-April 2025 for lunch.

This was a typical zoo restaurant. It's a grab and go. There are prepared foods on the side, both hot and cold. There are customizable stuff behind the counter and made to order. Expect it to be overpriced.

The loaded mac and cheese wasn't bad. The young lady behind the counter was making it for us when an older man (who I assume to be a manager) walked by and told her she was putting TOO much toppings in the mac and cheese so she stopped mid scoop with the bacon.

We got chicken tenders and fries which were both fine. We also got the prepared cobb salad. The lettuce on top looked fine but once we opened it and dug deeper, the lettuce were the harder and thicker stalks and more discolored. We still ate it because we were hungry but it did not look super fresh or maybe the salad sat too long in the back before packing it.

We also got the chocolate pudding and the jello. We all agreed the gummy worms in the chocolate pudding had a weird taste and off putting. The texture was also strange and unfortunately a lot of the flavor had leached into the pudding. The jello however was fine and those gummies were normal.

Condiments you grab on your own, self serve.

Cashier was nice and asked if we had membership, which we did and gave us the additional discount. It's nice when they ask because I forget sometimes with all the craziness going on.

The restaurant it self wasn't packed but there were 4 or 5 other groups in there with us. The place also was very clean and new looking. Not sure when this placed opened or renovated but it was very clean and modern. There are no tables to eat inside so we went outside to find a seat. There were no tables in the Kid's play place or neighborhood area so we walked around to where the hippo statues were to eat.

Even though the zoo website says no outside food, we were never searched and I swear almost EVERYONE we saw at the picnic tables had brought food in. Maybe it was locals who knew vs tourist. You can always leave and eat food in your car but it's just so inconvenient.“

“Their personal chicken bacon ranch pizza is probably the best chicken bacon ranch pizza I've tasted in years that is what I am having today you normally I get one of their amazing baskets the customer service is beyond words definitely keeps me a regular customer but this pizza is a must buy“

It would be best to pull the table away from the curtain and minimize any additional decorations to allow more comfortable space...slightly larger tables or pull them away from the wall would also provide less cramped experience“

“I must say that I love our Big Boy sandwiches at the Maureen, ohio location. In Ohio, we have tartar sauce on our Big boys and they are so good! If you go to a Big boy in Michigan be warned, it won't be the same, because they don't use tartar sauce and it's not even close to as good as our Big boy. I'd eat Big boy burgers every day if I could!“
