“From the moment we made our reservation, we were treated to a hospitality and warmth sorely lacking in today's world. While we went at noon, the music and decor were as relaxing as an evening or even late- night event. Our server Simeon was professional and committed to make our meal a memorable one. At our request, he described different dishes, telling us what he recommended and what to expect. He was attentive without hovering. The food was as outstanding as was the service. While the shrimp toast appetizer, Wong's chicken, and Clay pot were delicious, beautifully prepared, we were overwhelmed by the presentation, taste, and experience of the coconut bread pudding with rum sauce. We will go again soon..“

“I've been going here for years. I go there for the best tasting, best prepared food I've ever had. When I'm close to Anderson I stock up on their food. Their lunch menu is one of the best deals you can get.“

“We eat here at least twice per month. The food is always fresh and terrific. Favorite is the Chicken Pad-Thai, and crab rangoon, but everything ordered has been delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing and classy. The family is always friendly and service is great. Dont wait on a table next door and spend two or three times for “ok” food and service.“

“Sichuan Place is a fantastic spot for authentic Chinese cuisine with flavors tailored to your spice preference. Whether you love bold, fiery heat or prefer something milder, they’ve got you covered. The Red Dry Chili Chicken is a standout, and the Sweet and Sour Pork ribs are children's favorite. Pepper Beef is always my favorite. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring your meal suits your taste. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Sichuan flavors!“

“Food was excellent very hot even when I got home to Alexandria KY you guys should give them a shot you won't be disappointed I promise and I would tell ya if you was wasting your money but I've been here every other day my personal favorite is kung pao chicken and carb rangoons but I'm sure the other are great as well“

“The food and service are top notch. Got an amazing lunch plate of kung pao chicken. The fried rice is perfectly smoky, light and flavorful. Chicken cooked nicely with plentiful portions. The egg drop soup was legit - big pieces of egg and a lot of flavor. Had to deduct a few stars because even though I was sitting comfortably inside the restaurant, when the door opens it lets in a cold burst of air. Not good in the winter, but at least the food and service warmed me up. Definitely recommend though.“

“Grand Oriental Chinese Restaurant— BaldWhiteGuyReviews 🧑🦲🍜 Time flies, kids forget passports, and dads get a rare day off — which I immediately spent doing what any responsible parent would do: drag my son to a new restaurant and then reward him with lunch. 😅 He forgot his passport (top secret co-op stuff, apparently), so we met halfway-ish and let Yelp play help find a new place to try. That’s how we found Grand Oriental — a big, festive palace of American-Chinese comfort food and decorative bravado Grand Oriental 📍4800 Fields Ertel Rd, Cincinnati. Parking & Entrance Parking: angled, on a slight hill, and perfect for anyone who enjoys a little cardio while exiting their car. If you have equilibrium issues, bring a friend or a very dramatic cane. Walk the red carpet like you’re famous (or at least like you once were #Santa in the Christmas Program) and step into a dining room that screams “special occasion” louder than your drunk uncle at a wedding. 🎉✨ #WeSeeYou Decorations Huge space, lots of lanterns, and more faux-oriental flair than a Netflix period drama on a budget. The place looks like someone told Pinterest to go wild and then hired a very enthusiastic intern to execute it. If prom and homecoming had a love child, this would be the reception venue. Very Instagrammable — bring a filter and a dramatic pose. 📸🪩 They even have a golden throne #Seriously. The Wet Live Well They’ve got a big wet live well — yes, an actual aquarium of potential dinner guests. Do I think they fish out a crab and whisper “you’re up” before tossing him into a wok? Some call it fresh; others call it barbaric reality TV for crustaceans. Either way, the seafood looks like it just finished updating its LinkedIn. 🦀🐟😬 #FearFactor Bathroom Report Bathroom: shockingly clean and tastefully decorated. If the restroom is this tidy, you know the kitchen isn’t hiding any skeletons — just maybe a very well-behaved crab. 🚽✨ What We Ate 🍜 * Appetizer: Crab Rangoon — $6.99 Warm, creamy, and dangerously addictive. Came with two mystery sauces: one was sweet (dessert-adjacent and delightful), the other had a wasabi vibe that made my face do a small, respectful salute. I’m still not sure if the second sauce was wasabi or a tiny jar of regret, but it worked. 😋🔥 It was a surprise, no mention of sauces on the menu. (That I could find anyway). * Half-ling’s Meal: Sweet & Sour Chicken with Fried Rice — $11.99 Predictable in the best way. Comfort food for people who like their food to behave itself. The fried rice, however, was quietly excellent — the unsung hero of the table. 🍚👍 * My Choice: Hunan Beef with Fried Rice — $12.99 Hunan Beef is my yardstick. This one had a pleasant kick that made my nose run like it had opinions. Local Hunan still wins my heart #DragonInn, but this one is a solid contender. 🥩🌶️ Total Lunch Damage: $34.46 (waters included, because hydration is free and important) 💸 Final Thoughts (and the part where I pretend to be impartial) The Grand Oriental is a great spot for a special lunch or to impress guests who like their ambiance with a side of theatrical lighting. Staff were friendly and fast — service points for speed and smiles. Food was solid, comforting, and exactly what you expect from a good American-Chinese joint: familiar, warm, and occasionally surprising (looking at you, mystery sauce). #HotHot Final Score: 3 out of 5 Bald Heads 🧑🦲🧑🦲🧑🦲 Why I docked two Bald Heads: * Minus one for predictably (Boring) American-Chinese flavors — tasty, but not revolutionary. * Minus one for price — lunch felt a tad steep. Maybe you’re paying extra for the live well’s real estate and the decorative chandelier that’s clearly on a #FingerHut payment plan. 🧾💡#CheapOldMan Would I go back? Sure — for a special night, a prom afterparty, or if my son forgets something else important. Would I drive across town just for their Hunan? Not this time. 👎 Have you been here? “Absolutely the best customer service. The food is also worth mentioning first! My order came out in less than 4 minutes during peak lunchtime. This restaurant has been consistently one of my favorites for over 20 years. You cannot go wrong here. Sichuan noodles 🍜 are amazing, the egg rolls are delicious. The lunch specials are great too! “Went for my first time tonight, very happy. Lady who fixed my order was very kind and patient as I got myself together after braving the cold weather, and trying find my glasses, haha. I got noodles, sesame chicken, and coconut shrimp. All of it was hot and tasted good. Menu seems like tradition Chinese-American restaurant favorites, and is very reasonably priced for the portions. I got enough food for 2 dinners, and spent less, before tip, than I do at most places for 1 meal. The dining area was very clean and cozy. Overall, I'm very glad I stopped in and will be back!“

“I got carryout. Food and service was great. Directions to get there were terrible. Once I got there I felt it was easier to find if I went a different way. My phone map had me go thru a subdivision instead of over Winton Road. Good thing I knew a little bit about the area.“

“This is a classic family-run Chinese restaurant. It is primarily for take-out, as accommodations for dining in are rather sparse, and their website does not show an option for delivery... but everything that I have ordered there has been good - I particularly enjoy their hot and sour soup.“

“This place is a little gem. Its been around for a long time, but its new to me since my favorite spot closed. Food is absolute FIRE. Hot and sour soup is prob the best I've had, garlic beef was plentiful and delicious, egg roll is large, steamed chicken dumplings in the schezwan sauce, wow! Also had the double schezwan! All were hot and ready on time. Reasonably priced for large portion size. This is my new spot!“

“Not all Chinese restaurants are the same. And each one has its specialities. This one does a very good job in what they specialize, which is Guangdong/Shanghai style dish. What that means is that their speciality is not Sichuanese. So if you go there, you should order Guangdong/Shanghai food not Sichuanese. They do a phenomenal job with that dish.
You should get:
- Shanghai Style Eggplants
- Moo Goo Gai
- Sizzling Seafood Combination
(Any seafood menu was good from my experience)
These are not the best:
- Mapa Tofu or Double Cooked Pork (they are Sichuanese dish)“

“A really nice little place to order take out from or dine in at! Found this place based on reviews in the area, was greeted by a friendly smile and seated promptly, seating IS limited but it seems most people prefer carry out at this particular location. Restaurant was clean and tidy. Menu was very forward no complaints from me although I think it would be beneficial to show pictures of one dish from each category to help people not familiar with this type of food. Food price and serving portions were worth every penny, food was really good I would have said great but I think they are cooking on the side of caution and not really packing in the optimal amount of flavor they could be and also skimping on the heat. I had the Mein Fun and Orange Chicken both dishes were well presented and again good serving portions, shrimp in my Mein Fun was thoroughly cooked and did not have any odor to it (this is something I personally look out for and just a general note) I also got 1 pork egg roll, it was very crispy on the outside but not overcooked and hot on this inside (great job!! They have their fryer set right and it shows!!!)
My only real complaint is if I order the combination bowl I expect beef chicken and shrimp (this was not the case at this location) and not having a fountain machine means I was plagued with $1.25 canned soda.
Overall I would recommend this to friends or family in the area and look forward to eating here again and again“

“100% will be back -- Delicious food, good portions, good price.
Had the Hot & Spicy Chicken special with egg roll.
Very limited seating, they definitely do most of their business through carry out. I will be back, but their restaurant was clean and comfortable for the brief time I was in there.“

“If you’re looking for the best Chinese takeout around, China Wok on Pleasant Avenue in Fairfield is it. Every time we order, the food arrives piping hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. You can really tell they care about quality.
We ordered the crab rangoon, hot & sour soup, egg drop soup, chicken lo mein, and General Tso’s chicken — and everything was outstanding. The rangoon was crispy and creamy, the soups were full of flavor, and the entrees were perfectly seasoned with generous portions. Nothing tastes bland or thrown together — it tastes like it was made with pride.
On top of amazing food, it feels great knowing we’re supporting a local, family-run business. Friendly people, fast service, and consistently great meals — China Wok has definitely become our go-to spot. Highly recommend!“

“I’ve had my fair share of “Chinese” food in the US and this House Lunch Special is probably one of the few that comes close to being authentic Chinese fried rice.
Now, this was also had some American influence but the addition of a specific kind of beef and green vegetables reminded me of the true fried rice experience like I had in China“

“This is our go-to Chinese take out. The food is always good and both my wife and kids enjoy it. The kids get the chicken lo mein and sweet and sour chicken that they call Chinese chicken nuggets. The lo mein is flavorful and the noodles are tender. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy.
I got the beef with broccoli and pork fried rice. The beef was flavorful and the broccoli was cooked perfectly, still just a little crunchy and bright green.
My wife gets the bourbon chicken which is her favorite. It is delicious. She also ordered the cheese wontons (crab Rangoon) and they were crispy and full of filling. The pork egg rolls were good too.“

“Phenomenal.Wanted spicy noodles to help with my hangover, went in-person and there wasn’t exactly what I was looking for but the cashier was very polite and told me to order what sounded good and they would make it spicy for me. Got chicken lo mein (spicy), an order of 8 steamed pork dumplings with dipping sauce, and an egg roll; all amazing. The chicken lo mein was a small order but still had a lot in it. Ready in about 5 minutes, granted there was only 1 other customer there at the time. $19 total bill for all 3 items.“

“Went in at about 7pm on Christmas Eve as a last minute dinner plan with my husband. The food line was fully stocked. The food was hot and as fresh as Panda Express gets. “This place is Absolutely amazing experience! I ordered the Karapodi Gobi, Plain Dosa, and Haleem, and every single dish was incredible. The flavors were authentic, rich, and perfectly balanced. The Karapodi Gobi had the perfect spice, the Plain Dosa was fresh and beautifully made, and the Haleem was so flavorful and comforting that I even took some home to enjoy the next day to work!
What really stood out was the hospitality. Since I wasn’t familiar with some of the menu items, the staff kindly walked me through the menu, explained the dishes, and helped me choose. They were patient, welcoming, and made me feel comfortable. That level of service made the experience even better.
The environment was clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere. This is easily a 5-star restaurant, if not more. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Indian food and amazing service!“

“Stopped for lunch last Thursday. Restaurant was only half full so we assumed we would have a quick meal and move on. Didn't happen. The kitchen must be short handed as it took forever for our food to arrive. Our waitress must have been new as we both ordered one of the lunch specials. She brought my wife's appetizer but didn't bring my soup. I assumed she was going back to get it. Didn't see her again until she brought out both of our entrees. She asked it she could get anything else. I mentioned she never brought my soup appetizer. She apologized and went back to get it. I was half way through my entree before the soup ever arrived. How long does it take to ladle a cup of soup? No one ever came back to ask if I wanted a second glass of wine. Service at lunch isn't what it used to be, although the food was still as good as always.“
