“It had been many years since we had been to the Root Beer Stand so it was high time to come back. It had grown a fair amount since our last visit which was great to see. The place was really busy but they really are streamlined well and there was not a long wait time. There is a bit of indoor seating but a vast majority of the seating is at picnic tables outside around the area. Everything looked great all around the grounds although you must remember you are outside and there are a fair amount of bees around so beware of that. I had a footlong chili dog and fries which were excellent especially the chili dog. Also had to have a root beer float which was legendary as usual as their locally sourced root beer really is delicious. This is definitely an awesome place to go on a summer day for sure and it gets my highest recommendation.“

“Stepping into The Lonely Pine is like being transported to an eclectic, chic, 70’s western in the absolute BEST way possible. We were each greeted at the host stand with a tasting of sparkling Cava. Our server was absolutely exceptional – so personable with extensive knowledge of the menu & history. We had the pleasure of meeting Chef/Owner Maddy Sheblessy, which was very cool – I’ve heard so many good things & it was nice to finally meet her.

To start the meal, we shared the signature poutine. It has the perfect amount of heat & features local cheese curds. In between bites I sipped on the Dame Prue – the perfect summer cocktail (& everyone’s favorite Brit). For my entree I enjoyed the petite filet with horseradish cream (buttery soft with a little heat – perfection), my husband had the Route 66 Burger (neither of us are big fans of pimento cheese, but this burger changed our minds), & we shared the seasonal veg (rainbow chard – a nice, light accompaniment).

I eventually moved onto another cocktail – the on the grind martini – & was pleasantly surprised at the delicious coffee (not everywhere does it right!). We polished off the meal with the seasonal chef special – a dulce de leche tres leches cake – & My. Goodness. It’s impossible not to smile while you eat this. It’s indulgent, it’s decadent, & it was the perfect ending to our meal.“

“I was in town and Agave & Rye was recommended to me. I stopped in on 9/10/22 talked with Emma the hostess and explained I was having a few friends to stop by not sure how many between five and ten. She accommodated me at the high rise table back by the windows which was perfect for my nine guest. Sarah was our excellent server, she continually checked in on us even thou I saw her working outside as well. Our drinks were awesome and our food was really good. Next time I am in town I will definitely return here.“

The food options are limited but well executed including delicious wings and sandwiches. “Always fantastic. Go for the fries, stay for the blue cheese. Oh yeah, they have meats too. I usually get the spicy garlic on the wings, but they were kind enough to give me a cup on the side of the Chernobyl to try. It is very hot, but I would not say super hot. If you regularly eat habanero sauces and want more then this is probably a good heat level for you. It also has a good flavor, it’s not just hot for sake of being hot. Everyone there is super friendly also. Great atmosphere. Cool aesthetic. There is often live music on the weekends, which can be a bit loud and it definitely gets busy. Not a negative, just something to be aware of. Come during off hours if you don’t want that. I wish I could just buy a jug of the blue cheese. Maybe I can, but I haven’t asked.“

“Best espresso ice cream that I’ve ever had! My husband and I drove from Lebanon today to try the ice cream and it was absolutely delicious 😋 The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We ran into a very nice young man who worked there who was emptying the trash and took ours for us with a huge smile and a “have a wonderful day!” Outdoor games that are free and trees for the kids to climb and scenic views of the golf course.
