“My boyfriend and I visited J. Alexander’s for the first time this Saturday evening. We had a reservation for 6 and were seated around 6:05, after checking in at 5:50. The young women at the hostess stand were extremely polite and friendly. The atmosphere inside the place is great. It’s quite dark, but I personally enjoy that. It was packed of course, being a Saturday night, but it didn’t feel claustrophobic. I think it’s cool that guests can look into the kitchen and see the cooks at work, although we were seated away from that section of the restaurant. After being seated, our waiter, Donny H., soon came by. He politely introduced himself and got us our drinks. My boyfriend and I are both pretty quiet people. Neither of us had questions about the menu and we had no requests for him throughout the meal. Even though he didn’t have much to work with, Don still did great with us!! Both of us enjoyed our food. I got the rotisserie chicken with smashed potatoes. For some reason, I didn’t realize it would come as a whole rotisserie chicken LOL. I kind of thought it would be cut up, but that’s definitely user error. The chicken was very tender and pretty easy to cut up on my own. While we were eating, I noticed that all of the wait staff seem to have excellent customer service skills. A few different waiters came by our table to clear plates, bring out our appetizer, etc. Every single one of them was as kind and gracious to as Don was, even though they weren’t getting tipped from us. I think that’s pretty rare to find. At the end of the service, Don even surprised us with carrot cake for free because it was our first time visiting. It was very kind of him. Maybe it’s just something he does to boost his tips, but hey, I respect the hustle!! And the carrot cake was dang good, even after taking it home and having it cold!! Overall a great experience. I’d definitely love to come back at some point even though it’s a bit of a drive for us.”

Wow we sent our compliments to the chef, everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. “Chef Erika Rapp never disappoints and every visit to this wonderful restaurant reaffirms it as my favorite place for our Anniversary dinner. I look forward to the coconut, chorizo and sweet potato steamed muscles that she has had on the fall menu consistently for the last 5 years. And being Gluten Free the care Chef Erika takes to offer many delicious options, means I can always find the perfect meal. Last night the fish dish was perfection, from the perfectly cooked cod, to the savory and slightly sweet delicata squash puree to the textural elements of the crisp broccolini and the crunch of the pomagranate and pepitas. And the dish paired wonderfully with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc. After enjoying a basket of gluten free pop-overs (another favorite treat) and appetizers I was stuffed, but the dish was too delicious to leave even one bite on the plate. Our server Miranda was fabulous. Attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and added so much to our dining experience. I highly reccommend.”

“This is my first time in Ohio, and after about an hour of searching for something to eat @4am, I finally found a place that was actually open — and I’m so glad it was this Subway.
First of all, being open 24 hours is a lifesaver. I walked in and was greeted right away. The woman making my sandwich was absolutely awesome — so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely kind. The gentleman working there was very nice as well.
As I was leaving, the cashier said, “Goodbye, sweetheart. Have a nice day.” That simple moment really meant a lot.
What an amazing atmosphere. You can tell they truly care about their customers and take pride in their work. I wish more places had employees like this. Thank you for making my first food stop in Ohio such a positive experience!”

“went in at around 2am. haven’t come here in years bc the service had been so bad and food went downhill and was EXTREMELY pleasantly surprised tonight. Our server Lori was absolutely incredible. so so so friendly and welcoming especially for working the late shift. We ordered a good amount of food just for the two of us and that came out very very quickly as well, and the cook actually brought some of it out to us and was just as pleasant to talk to. we were shocked at how nice they both were. it’s so rare now to find friendly people in the service industry, especially late a night, so this was a very very great late night run.”

Our waitresses were efficient and friendly the whole time. All the food is amazing. I've never had a bad meal here. This has become one of my favorite places to eat downtown. I have been meaning to check this place out for some time. Now that I have I can't wait until my next time.”

I don’t appreciate being lied on, lied to, nor receiving poor service. “Lex” and the other line worker began talking about other customers right on the line, directly after this incident. I’ve never had a bad experience at any Piada across the map. It was extremely frustrating and disappointing to experience such poor service. I will likely never go back to this location again.”

I don['t know if the owner is aware of this as I don't see him there all the time.”

The amount that comes with the pho is not sufficient for the portion size so you will need more. There’s one server that’s awesome ( I think her name is Mariah ) She’s typically there when I visit and appears to have things under control even when it’s packed. I do feel they need more waitstaff however she holds her own & everyone receives prompt service.”

“Super great bar staff on Tuesday nights. He always remembers our order and always gets it right. Pizza's and salads are wonderful and would highly recommend both. On Tuesday night, 8/19 I was a little disappointed as they changed from paper plates and plastic silverware to China Plates and Real Silverware. I had a real knife that was serrated for a right-handed person and I am left-handed, lol. Please go back to paper and plastic as it feels more like home. Thanks”

The staff has been amazing every time I go, I’ve tried multiple things in the menu and have raved about each one, the beers/drinks are great, and of course, the pickleball is great too! “The Alexis location by far has the nicest staff! They will take the time to answer questions and have an actual (short) conversation. I’ve been to a few others it’s a hurry up and get them through the “door” atmosphere”

“Overall the food was amazing great flavor but service was lacking to put it nicely. We waited almost 15 minutes after ordering but was definitely worth the wait, tasted amazing. Unfortunately the wait/ service wasn’t great, we had to wave the waitress down after waiting for 15 mins to order than waiting another 20-ish minutes after asking to get our checks. Ended up here for roughly an hour and half and we’re the only table seated(4people), saw one person come in for a carry out order during this time. Ordering on time might definitely be the way to go. They never came back to refill our drinks and charged us for an avocado when we asked for the avocado on the side instead of inside our food. Outside of that very clean bathrooms were one of the cleanest we’ve been out so service is the only complaint we had.”
